  1. There's entirely too little OLTL April Fool's bullshit.

      MissLlanviewPA

Well I can't pull off my idea now! :P

  2. Is it wrong to now want a 50 hour OLTL marathon, despite its many dramatically different eras?

Not at all! ANYTHING for some Max & Gabby! ;)

      All My Shadows

Nope. I've been trying to think of what would make for a good 40-hour AMC-thon.

    4. DRW50

      DRW50

I would love to see this, especially the Gordon Russell era, and the few 60s or 70s episodes available.

  3. If you're gonna watch the GH marathon, watch the episodes in marathon order. The Rick/Lesley/Monica/Alan quad storyline material builds and builds beautifully, as does Luke and Laura.

      AdelaideCate007

That's what I'm doing as well. These early 80s episodes are so good.

  4. Re-watching the Lorraine Broderick mini-era of AMC 2010, the Adam and Brooke reunion storyline, to get primed for the show. Good times.

  5. The new NY Magazine piece on Matt Lauer is pretty damning.

it really is a great write up.

  6. HOW did Gotham get a TV deal??

  7. I can't deal with any more emotional Prospect Park interviews.

  8. Janet Hubert's open letter to Wendy Williams is the craziest thing I have read in a while. Poor Aunt Viv.

And wow, I don't see how ANYTHING Wendy said there is offensive to Janet.

    3. DaytimeFan

      DaytimeFan

Exactly, it was a totally inoffensive interview, totally harmless. As Carol Burnett would say, that woman's pilot light has gone out.

    4. JackPeyton

      JackPeyton

this has made me go relive the greatness of Wendy vs Whitney from her radio show.

  9. More shooting pix leaking from OLTL. I am dying.

  10. "Hi, Todd! You look like you've got something to say! Do you?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUXjoInekU4

  11. Luke dryly calling Scott "Laura's Eraserhead fiancee" is the first legitimate intentional laugh I've gotten out of Luke in years.

  12. That moment when you keep refreshing another website's homepage, waiting for them to catch up with the biggest soap news in decades. Ugh.

    3. dragonflies

      dragonflies

LOL they don't care, but yet Jamey awhile back on twitter was bashing SON saying they were the least reliable source around

  13. Don't take this the wrong way, but I never thought I'd see the day when Soap Opera Network was my most up-to-the-minute source for both OLTL and AMC. Ahem.

  14. I am going to attempt to watch the HOUR-LONG pilot for "The Grove" tonight, starring, once again...Crystal Chappell. If I do not return please remember me to the nice people at OLTL.

You should use the generic soap thread I started here.

I wish that Venice blog hadn't been taken down. That was a hoot.

I tried to watch it, but not a fan of the film quality. As a gay man, nothing insults me more then a straight person trying to make a show about gay people.

  15. No, I haven't had a banner in years and years, if ever. Yes, I am getting it resized. Thanks AllMyDays.

    1. DRW50

      DRW50

It's so beautiful, and retro (in a good way). And you don't litter yours with random sci-fi/fantasy characters like I do.

  16. Suck it, Bloomberg.

  17. I seriously did not need to see the guy from Daytime Confidential trying to intimidate Nancy Lee Grahn or GH on Twitter. Some people.

      DRW50

So the real reason they keep hyping GH is finally revealed. It has jack all to do with the actual quality of the show.

This is why I do not respect many of the boosters. I respect posters here who praise Carlivati and Valentini because I believe it's genuine. I do not respect those who blatantly act like they are going to get into the clubhouse if they kiss enough ass.

    3. Vee

      Vee

I think they genuinely like the show but it's clear the guy is out of his gourd when he's trying to intimidate GH and Grahn. That's acting way above your pay grade.

I do think TC is going to appear and that NLG fucked up, but the DC response on Twitter was way out of line.

    4. dragonflies

      dragonflies

that to me is what I believe her tweet about Richard Dean Anderson was about. The "you want to run with that too" gave it away lol

  18. Every single time I check TWOP on Twitter there is a new report from someone about a malware warning. Still. I'm not going back until I can't see one report of trouble for a month.

    1. DRW50

      DRW50

I went back for about a week and then in the middle of last week my anti-virus had to block something else. I've checked once or twice since then but I really think I'm going to stay away for good. It just doesn't seem safe, and I don't miss the forums I was reading all that much at this point.

    2. MissLlanviewPA

      MissLlanviewPA

It's working fine for me now (they also have a message addressing it at the top of the forums). I love it there--not just the soap boards, but the sitcom and TV Potluck boards more now.

    3. Vee

      Vee

I have been on the soap forums since 2000 so I'd rather not give them up. But given their disinterest in fixing the problem permanently and the rest of the site's history of [email protected]#$%^&*] administration, I'm not missing it much.

  19. And now, the infamous opening to the 1989 Academy Awards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJ0XGi_LVOU&feature=player_embedded Hollywood Reporter has a great new write-up on it: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/oscars-rob-lowes-snow-white-422225

Oh come on, you have Merv Griffin singing for no reason, Roy Rogers and Vincent Prince, and then in the middle of everything Cyd Charisse dancing out oh nowhere. Snow was doing her best in a bad situation.

    3. DaytimeFan

      DaytimeFan

Cyd Charisse was the only one who didn't embarrass herself as she looked amazing. Great article, thanks for posting!

What did I just watch?! Wow.

  20. Possibly more embarrassing than the infamous "Snow White & Rob Lowe" opening from the same night: The "Bright Young Stars of 1989" number from the 1989 Oscars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRtCd_gEg_A&feature=player_embedded Poor everyone.

Yes Joely's taking it all so very seriously. I guess at least she could sing a little. I found her somewhat annoying on Ellen's sitcom.

Keith seemed to be having a time with those splits...

I'd never heard of Patrick O'Neal Jr. I've barely heard of Patrick O'Neal.

You could tell they thought Patrick Dempsey was going to be a big star. I guess he did become a star, just not in movies.

    4. Vee

      Vee

Ricki Lake is almost as intolerable in this. But really, they all are, and Ricki I can't get too mad at. She's got to have a sense of humor about it now if any of them do.

I'm not sure a Patrick O'Neal Sr. exists.

The swordfighting interlude doesn't make ANY sense.

  21. Shia LaBeouf, do not try to take Alec Baldwin.

    1. JackPeyton

      JackPeyton

Shia is seriously so self important. Its why everyone it seems he works with cant stand him. When you have issues on every single project, maybe you are the problem.

    2. MontyB

      MontyB

Shia who? When I saw the naked pictures, he forever went off my radar. Just no, Shia.

I don't think he will be as hurt by this as Jindal was (as Jindal did stupid things like mock specific programs, and specific disaster relief, which came back to bite him). But it just confirmed for me that he's an unlikeable windbag who gets by because the GOP needs a token figure.

    3. Vee

      Vee

Paul Ryan did a better job opposite Biden, and that destroyed Ryan. I just don't see it working. It was also a worse performance than Jindal via water bottle alone, not to mention the fact that he kept wiping his face and looked on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

I think you may be right, although some of the Beltway types are already shushing it (then again this same site fawned over Tim [[email protected]#$%^&*] Pawlenty for about 4-8 years)

Probably the most bitter a Speaker of the House has ever looked during a State of the Union. I don't think even Gingrich was that bad.

The weave wasn't that bad on Thursday or Friday. Now, the day Caleb was first shown. Yeah, that weave was so blown out it looked like ME had a kitten on his head.

  25. Tonye Patano is still so good in her guest shot on The Americans. I always thought it was criminal how little OLTL made of her and Frankie Faison. Hope they get more to do on the revival with Destiny's increased role.

I thought she was great on OLTL.
