  1. One Day at a Time Season 4 (re-)premieres on CBS tonight!

    1. All My Shadows

      All My Shadows

      Thanks for the reminder!

  2. Current events rather distracted, but I will be devouring Sky TV/HBO's 12-hour livestream of the mid-chapter of The Third Day today. I'm always interested in innovative narrative experiments, especially with horror.

  3. RIP to the legendary Michael Lonsdale. I guess I need to finally finish Out 1.

  4. Willing to beg for the quote system to work properly.

  5. Addicted to Borgen on Netflix, after waiting many many years to have an opportunity to see it properly after endless buzz. Few shows have depicted the decay of a relationship so agonizingly.

We started watching the show recently as well. I cannot fully get the hype, though. If you are refering to Birgitte and her husband I'm 100% behind your statement. The actors are AMAZING and the spotlight on the family life of a Nation's leader in the 2000s is exquisite. The episodic storyline are mostly meh; the only episode that truly stood out for me was the one about female quotas in corporations.

I love them all so far tbh

    3. Cat

I loved Borgen too. It's been a while since I watched it, and it kind of made me want to Denmark for a moment there. The actress playing Birgitte is *chef's kiss* in the role. All of them are good, in fact.

I definitely couldn't believe it either. Thrilled it's going to happen though.

Holy crap! She made peace with him?

      I Am A Swede

Aha, this explains the group of pigs I saw fly past my window yesterday!   ^_^

  7. Catherine Oxenberg (ex-Dynasty) will be featured in this Sunday's episode (and likely many more) of HBO's The Vow, the NXIVM docuseries which is one of the most in depth long form documentaries I've ever seen.

I'd heard the stories about her being taken advantage of and abused but Bell seemed to be the one trying to control the narrative and blaming her son. This is so awful.

  9. Damn. RIP Ben Cross, the sexy and soulful Barnabas Collins of Dark Shadows '91.

    1. DRW50

Oh that's so sad. He was great as Barnabas.

    2. Wendy

Wow! I loved his take on Barnabas. (Loved the '91 series overall; sad the Persian Gulf War basically killed it.)  :( May he RIP!

      A true American icon.

She is THE best! I've gotten my students to love her just as much as I do.

    4. Taoboi

I saw that last night after work. Great grin. LOVE.

  11. Phil Collins trending this AM for all the right reasons. We can use a break.

  12. Rewatched George Clooney's cameo on ER when Julianna Margulies left. I remember being shocked. He insisted on no publicity and doing it for scale. The show even hid it from NBC, which never forgave the show for it and forced them to scale down Mark Greene's exit a few years later. I still am impressed with Clooney's class.

I haven't watched that season since it aired, but I felt they built it up fairly well or at least capped it off well in that final episode when Carol gives Luka that very good speech on her way out the door.

They apparently hid Susan Lewis' first exit too, so this was the last straw for NBC.

    3. DRW50

It's so short-sighted and petty to punish the show - anyone with a brain would have known they were punishing themselves.

    4. Jonathan

Can you imagine hiding a story point from Brian Frons?  Oh it would have been epic!

  13. Remember the Gabrielle Union case?

    1. DRW50

Between this and the Ellen news I'm amazed at how many shitty and toxic people are in high positions, even though I shouldn't be.

    2. DramatistDreamer

Unfortunately @DRW50 I am not surprised as I've encountered some of these toxic types of people--they block your path/progress and gaslight you into believing that it is something you have done/failed to do. While doing freelance work, I once had a producer at a television show (which has long been canceled, thank goodness) insist that since I was clearly unwilling to back-stab that I was not cut out for the job, so they didn't feel comfortable with me continuing in the position (which was supposed to lead to a permanent gig).  I kid you not!

There is a reckoning finally happening in the arts & entertainment industry and I am sooo here for it!  It's long overdue!

Sharon Osbourne was talking about the NBC executives many years ago and how they'd apparently treated her son, Jack, when he disclosed his diagnosis with MS, and the disparity on the set of AGT: among other things, she was given an American Airlines ticket while Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell got flown on private jets. The behaviour appeared to continue.

  14. If you're not going to ban people at least let us curse. It's been over a decade, I'm pretty sure the SoapNet sponsorship deal is not coming.

  15. Mike Tyson could be 90 in a hoveround and I would not get in a ring with him.

  16. Tsunami too, 2020? For real?

  17. Pleasantly surprised to see Mo Collins return for the Parks & Rec COVID special.

  18. When can we expect known sockpuppet accounts to be permanently banned and not let out to roam the yard every few months, @Toups? Asking for a friend.

  19. I know I'm not the only one worried about Khan.

Yes, LOVE Khan. I hope he's ok!!

    3. Taoboi

You're not.  I too have been wondering. Especially after the rally and the increase in numbers there.

    4. All My Shadows

      All My Shadows

Khan does not like me, and I don't know why, but I have noticed his absence, and I hope he is okay! He's gone away from time to time before, so I'm sure he'll be back soon.

  20. This Thandie Newton Vulture profile is the best soap of the year. https://www.vulture.com/article/thandie-newton-in-conversation.html

"And Oprah took to her bed and just ate mac and cheese."  - Thandie Newton. I love articles like this. Like the celebrity memoirs of the 1980s.

  21. The new Unsolved Mysteries may be lacking Robert Stack but it's kept the mood and music that terrified me in elementary school. Won't be forgetting these cases.

@KMan101 I had to subscribe again too. I got the first month free.

    3. KMan101

@Soapsuds lol that's good. Darn Netflix for sucking me back in lol

    4. Soapsuds

@KMan101 it's worth it. I haven't seen all of the first few episodes posted but the ones I've seen are great!

  22. Rewatching the first weeks of The City for the first time in 25 years. Flaws notwithstanding, so much of it from style to cameras are a precursor to today - maybe they should've tried it at night.

    1. SFK

A late-night block of The City and 13 Bourbon Street would have had me blissfully late to Montgomery Blair High School every morning, instead of just begrudgingly late.

    2. Vee

Well, Blair was like that in general. (I didn't go there, much)
