  1. Took a day off, but Tuesday: Still no moderators. Or are there? Toups or Errol, feel like commenting?

Because you are doing exactly what you are accusing someone else of doing.  Besides, you are a super smart person and I'd rather see posts from you on the topics at SON than to see you raving daily about a "troll".  It makes you seem a tad off.

Use your time/energy wisely.  Have fun :)

Raving, no. Disciplined, yes. It's what the moderators and anyone responding to the trolls on the board lack - consistency and focus. If you have a better way to deal with this forum's systemic lack of moderation and inability to deal with trolls than to regularly raise awareness I am all ears. Pretending it isn't happening, rolling over and playing dead, and blaming the victim are not rational options. Saying "just ignore him" got old years ago, especially when those of us who blocked him still have to deal with his posts due to spamming.

      You tried, but you're wrong.

Speaking of lint, you have realized that it (they) appear to have vanished since the blowup.

Perhaps you got your wish after all...and made a LOOOOTTTT of people happy. :)

  3. Your Saturday reminder: No moderators.

  4. And now, Friday's reminder that Soap Opera Network does not care about trolls.

  5. Thursday: Your daily reminder Soap Opera Network doesn't care about trolls.

  6. Today is your daily reminder Soap Opera Network doesn't care about trolls.

And apparently trolls now write status updates that target individual posters because they know that most people have them on Ignore.

They're clearly trying to maneuver around the Ignore feature.

I'm sure this behavior won't be checked though.

  7. FWIW: I'll spam this status bar everyday to get Errol or Toups to address the troll issue and I urge everyone else to start threads or do the same. I don't particularly care if they'd rather ban me than a troll.

Apparently, this board is now being run by the Trump administration.  Unbelievable.

This is disappointing for sure.  I don't believe he doesn't remember either. I guess he had the grace not to completely deny it, which would have been easy to do after 30 years.  So sad to think of all these victims. I know it's nothing new, but just awful how many people have been harmed by sexual predators.

  10. It's probably the tackiest thing ever to say but in the wake of this year defined by corruption, bigotry, white supremacy and now sexual abuse scandals, I can't think of a better time for Agnes Nixon's two key soaps (AMC and OLTL) to be back on the air telling the kind of relevant social and political stories they always told best.

  11. Stranger Things 2 uses Susan Lucci and Erica Kane as a character beat. I love it.

    1. Khan

      Khan

How?  I probably shouldn't ask, since 1) I don't watch ST and 2) I don't want to spoil anything for those who do.  Nevertheless, as an Erica Kane/Susan Lucci fan, I have to know.  Could you maybe PM me?

(By the way, didn't I ask whether that old AMC clip would figure into the show? ;) )

      Khan

Oops.  I wrote that last reply w/o checking the AMC thread first.  Nevermind. :)

  12. Terri Conn (ATWT, OLTL) is among the women who have come forward to accuse writer-director James Toback of sexual harassment.

Having her leg humped as she watched him release himself?  That's so damn despicable!

      DramatistDreamer

The author of the L.A. Times article says that an additional 193 women have contacted him about Toback since the article was published!!:o

  13. TFW you're working a rush job on a Tika Sumpter movie. Good for her.

  14. Lauren Holly's full account of her encounter with Harvey Weinstein is absolutely heartbreaking. Watch the full clip in the thread.

  15. Really hope someone in the States picks up this George Michael documentary playing in the UK.

  16. Blade Runner 2049 did a classy thing for a down on their luck actor and is a shockingly great movie when it shouldn't be. Go see it.

      Taoboi

Good. I wasn't sure even after I saw the credits. Like others in that scene I was shocked in a good way.

    2. YRBB

      YRBB

Gotcha. Thanks. That was a hugely wonderful surprise & such an affecting scene.

Also, the movie showed me that Jared Leto can still be pulled back from the brink and turn in a nice, controlled performance.

I think I need to go see it again.

    3. Taoboi

      Taoboi

@YRBB Same about seeing it again. I still have a few conversations from it dancing in my head right now. One of them was a conversation I just had last week so it resonated beautiful.

  17. Kelela's first major label album "Take Me Apart" is futurism meets Janet/Velvet Rope-era Janet Jackson. Listen to it on Spotify, it's great.

  18. In the wake of the Weinstein scandal, Terry Crews has a story too: http://www.vulture.com/2017/10/after-harvey-weinstein-terry-crews-shares-his-own-story.html

As long as there's a Hollywood, there will be men like Weinstein, slithering around, using their power to defile and demean women.  But I am glad to see women and even men speaking up about this issue, if only so those who are influential within the film and TV industries will think twice before putting anyone through this personal and costly humiliation.

  20. If the rumors are true about who pops up in Blade Runner 2049 I will eat my hat.

  21. Wow: The zero-budget "avant-garde black soap opera' Bill Gunn and Ishmael Reed made for public television is somehow getting a restoration:

  22. Poor Sonequa Martin-Green cries in every single interview she gives about working on Star Trek. I guess I'll give CBS All Access the 1-week trial today.

  23. GL's Don Stewart stars with a talking chimp named Trudi in the ridiculous "Carnival Magic" - the new Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Netflix just keeps on giving.
