  1. Nancy Lee Grahn has a lot of feelings about Viola Davis' Emmy speech and all of them are probably best left unsaid https://twitter.com/NancyLeeGrahn/with_replies

Yeah. Someone has probably screen-capped all that she said and it'll be all over Twitter tomorrow if the Emmys are still a hot topic. She wanted the spotlight, it is about to be on her. It just boggles my mind how she took a shot at one of the top stars at the network she works for. I don't see this ending well for her.

      Khan

You know whose reaction I cannot wait to hear (sort of)?  No, not Viola's.  She will just swat her away like a fly and then move on.  I'm talking about Shonda Rhimes's.  You just KNOW she's going to be on Twitter, asking for volunteers again to hold her wig, purse and earrings.

    4. NothinButAttitude

      NothinButAttitude

Shonda is gonna ether Nancy. But I don't think she'll be the only one. I see many black entertainers/producers/writers that support Viola's win speaking out too. Primetime and daytime too. Ooo.... I know Vicky Rowell is gonna probably have a mouth full too. :D

He spends the entire interview talking about this and that and another and yet another gay man who has done something he is put off by and objects to. The whole part bragging about sending away the "faggot" who dared to hit on him without being out enough screams the whole "not like other gays" concept to me. But again it's just my opinion.

    3. Vee

      Vee

He calls himself that, though. And I know he's far from the only person to be frustrated with guys who won't give a straight answer when they're flirting. That's all I take that as.

    4. DRW50

      DRW50

I might as well, but the whole premise of the article starts with his saying he hates LA gays, they aren't like him, who is honest and New York. He isn't like Colton Haynes, who is so fake, unlike him. He isn't like this guy who dares to not be gay enough when wanting sex (even though he himself talked about sexual confusion - it's just OK when it happens to him). I came away from the interview knowing a lot about who he isn't, and very little about who he is.

And even if he calls himself that, the invective with which he uses the word in that anecdote makes me wary because I've seen a lot of gay men who may use it for themselves jokingly, but use it as a cudgel against anyone else. Maybe he isn't like that, but it was a very bitter quote.

I'm glad to hear that Latavia is sober (and hope that she doesn't end up being this generation's Florence Ballard). Considering how that selfish-ass family destroyed the 10+ years of hard work that she'd put into that group (I can't even imagine how devastating it must be for that to happen - especially at 18 years old).

See I don't think Taylor deserves comeuppance. Now Kanye on the other hand deserves alot of it. I do hope Kim gets charges thrown at her for illegally taping someone's conversation without their knowledge.

Oh and you know Taylor is NOT the first star to have a certain image for the public, so yeah that's hypocritical to call her out for that

    3. All My Shadows

      All My Shadows

They're not calling her out for having a certain image; they called her out for being fake af. Are you defending the fact that she OK'd the song then publicly acted as if she'd never been consulted on it? If her outrage at the song was false, then just imagine what else about her image is false. Celebrities craft images all the time, but they're not so often this transparent.

    4. MissLlanviewPA

      MissLlanviewPA

THIS. Her whole persona is based on this nice girl next door perfection image. And this just proved how much of it is bullshit. And yet her crazier stans (NOT you, DF) are STILL twisting themselves into pretzels trying to make her out as her favorite role--the innocent victim. Again, I don't even dislike her as many others do, but she was caught in a MAJOR lie. Of course people are going to call her out on it, as they should. She's damn near 30, for Christ's sake.

  11. I'd almost forgotten how hilariously overwrought and affected most of Diane Keaton's episode of "Twin Peaks" is- it was a major "TV event" at the time and she clearly knew it and went nuts with little supervision. A rare highlight: Bobby Briggs calling Leo Johnson "Leostein"

She's been around forever and is only recently getting her real due (for her past work on the best of Homeland, I think). She even did Amazing Stories and Brewster Place.

See, I don't buy that anything going on with GH (outside of budget) are ABCf mandates.  Why would they care about gay characters on GH [a show they give zero fvcks about] with all of the same sex relationships going on in prime time?  Explicit love/lust scenes at that.

    4. Vee

      Vee

Frank and Ron both wanted Julian dead long ago - never invested in him. The network seized on them as one of the few things supposedly 'working' on the shitshow last year because of their rabid and overinflated social media fanbase. The show was terrible then and is terrible now, but It's possible for both the network and both those men to be wildly incompetent, it's just that sometimes their mistakes are not the same mistakes. For example, FV worships Easton whereas Ron never cared, but Ron worships Obrecht, etc.

Scottish independence is being broached again since many Scots who voted to Stay with GB did so with the implicit guarantee that the U.K. was benefitting from the security of the EU.

Scotland voted overwhelmingly for the Remain Campaign and now that the Leaves have the British majority, Scottish pro-independents are speaking out and saying that they believe Scotland's future should be and is with the EU.

Also, I am DLing the AW 70s stuff now. Thanks for letting me know the access had changed. It'll be fantastic finally seeing more of the original Sharlene or Willis Frame, two major Lemay characters, to say nothing of '60s AW or Robert Delaney carving up the painting.

    3. DRW50

They also have some audios of '60s and '70s material.

I should warn that some of the video you have to tilt your head for (like the episode with the painting), but it's still worth watching.

I think the Matthews could have still been a strong family (Pat, Russ, and Alice were all very popular at the start of the '70s), but perhaps the problem was no family ever replaced them in longevity. They never really tried to keep the Frames around, for instance.

    4. Vee

      Vee

I think they screwed up in not sticking with the Frames and having actors who would stick around and/or not get fired by Rauch. As for the Matthews girls, I agree. It seems like Lemay spent all of the 70s trying to find the right pairing for Pat and for his new Alice and never did. They were all you needed IMO (with Russ in reserve, perhaps) but he didn't free Pat and he lost Jacquie Courtney.
