  1. Did Pamela Anderson really stay married to husband #5 long enough for him to pay off her debts, then bounce?

I'm still giggling over 'international love affair.' Yes, I know she's going to Canada and back but still... lol.

I don't think Jon Peters is an easily intimidated dude. He was Barbra Streisand's wig designer before parlaying that into 'lover' AND 'producing partner' (certainly nobody on the A Star Is Born set could stand Peters). He's had 5 marriages. Apparently his ego was and likely still is huge!

But yeah, from the text it does sound like she might have tired him out, so to speak, lol.

As for Pammy, well, glad she moved on from that abusive football player back in France. Jon Peters was definitely a step up from the French D-list where she was languishing. The ole girl does keep it moving! Everytime I see her, though, I fight the urge to give her a tetanus shot, throw her in the shower and pray for her eyebrows to grow back (god, I hate how she uses magic marker for her eyebrows).

  2. I can't believe a 'Supermarket Sweep' revival inspired a bidding war!

  3. If anyone is look for a set to film a sequel to 'The Shining', Dr. Phil's house should just cover it.

Performances aside, anyone who reads a script knows which role is clearly meant to be supporting and which is meant to be leading.

    3. Khan

      Khan

No, what I meant was, J. Lo isn't as relevant anymore, so I don't think people care all that much whether she's playing supporting in a movie or the lead.

    4. Vee

      Vee

She is, though; the film was very well-received and she even moreso. It's a big deal for her and IMO she earned it.

  7. These Baby Yoda memes.

  8. Sometimes it's odd how the timing of things end up.  Just over the weekend, I saw one of those commercials with Wilford Brimley and wondered if there had ever been a reunion interview with the cast of Our House.  As a child, I watched that show every Sunday evening.  Today, with that news about Days Of Our Lives, it made me think about this again.  When will we see the cast get together for an interview about the show? Mr. Brimley isn't getting any younger.

  9. Jessye Norman's voice is power and drama and elegance and poignance and joy and utter beauty. R.I.P. to a true Diva!

  10. I haven't read this Eddie Murphy interview but this sounds like an apt description for change/evolution.

I mean, he apologized for them in the '90s.

    2. DramatistDreamer

      DramatistDreamer

The article apparently also discusses how Eddie is reminding comedians that their work is and should be open to criticism, it's all a part of the business, so he doesn't understand comedians who rail against criticism, it is what it is.

  11. Wasn't there a Popular Music in Soaps thread somewhere?  Seriously, what happened to it??

Has ABLSS been on awhile?  I can't believe I haven't heard or seen one thing about it.  (Yes, I can.  This is America, after all, and like hell they're gonna give publicity to a sketch show created, produced, starring, written and directed by WOC.)

My Lord.  This isn't just good comedy.  This is GROUNDBREAKING.

@Khan It's an HBO show that started a few weeks ago. I think this is maybe its third episode since debuting. HBO has several clips from the episodes on its YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLO79iP69FaZPUe5TEM4i99eUANCbFThx3

My favorite clips is the one featuring Angela Bassett

That s*it was hilarious last night. Titus let Andy know real quick that he isn't the one. That aside, I am so glad that so many are waking up to the problematic a**hole that is Andy Cohen.

Let's put it this way: I find it amusing that Andy Cohen reads books, let alone writes 'em.

  15. Anyone following this craziness with men's swimming?  I'm sorry I missed out on the actual competitive races but apparently Chinese swimmer Sun Yang and his fellow competitors do not get along!  I'm reading about it all now but I'm going to go to YouTube later on to see if I can get some video footage, lol, because this drama I want to see!

    1. I Am A Swede

      I Am A Swede

Yes, it's been unusual scenes. Sun Yang has already served a suspension for doping and is currently under investigation once again. This has not made him popular among his fellow competitors and both Australian swimmer Mack Horton and British swimmer Duncan Scott have refused to stand beside him on the podium during medal presentations and also refused to congratulate him.

    2. DramatistDreamer

      DramatistDreamer

I read that Sun allegedly smash a vial of his blood that anti-doping testers had just collected from him before they could leave with it! :o  Apparently, the testers did not show proper I.D. before asking to take the sample but whoa, what an extreme reaction!  Why not just contact WADA?

  16. Weren't some of us recently discussing the John Landis Twilight Zone Movie tragedy?  Apparently Eddie Murphy's comments about Landis have resurfaced and are getting a second look.

Amazingly, none of that stopped Landis and Murphy from working together again on "Beverly Hills Cop III" -- although, judging from how that film turned out, maybe it should've.

Oh, the Battle of the Stars done another way, LOL.

Just earlier this week, I was remembering the time I heard about that story Holly Robinson (before she became Peete) told about punching Robin Givens in the face when they were teenagers, LOL.

  17. The Lion King is still likely to make a sh*t ton of $$$ despite the reviews that are currently coming in.

    1. ReddFoxx

      ReddFoxx

Just being The Lion King alone is enough to bring in money and Beyonce being in the voice cast will bring in even more dollars. What they did to "Be Prepared" was incredibly disappointing and makes me want to wait for the DVD.

    2. YRBB

      YRBB

One of the reviews I saw gave it a D (!!) and now to hear they effed up "Be Prepared"? Sigh. I'm still going to watch, but I'll temper my expectations.

I'll admit that I was highly surprised when I heard a remake was being done as I believed a remake to be totally unnecessary.

A good HD antenna will bring in about 30 stations for me, so I'm good with that and a shared Netflix account and some free online TV/movie sites. I can barely keep up with streaming/viewing as it is.

    3. All My Shadows

      All My Shadows

@ReddFoxx meanwhile the best we can do with the shows we love is grainy YouTube video. They need to gtf over themselves!

@All My Shadows Seriously, if SoapClassics could resurrect their website and start streaming P&G classics again, I'd be as happy as a clam!

Yep. Every thread I post in has been derailed by the one troll. If you don't agree with their crazy opinions (which most people don't), get ready for 5 pages of the thread being derailed.

    3. DramatistDreamer

      DramatistDreamer

What I don't understand is why are folks still replying and quoting troll.  That goes a long way to keeping him/them engaged.  That troll has tried to bait me by quoting me and I've ignored them.  I feel like if others were truly bothered, they'd do the same but when I often look in threads, that's not what I see.

    4. Vee

      Vee

People had to learn with J*NNY the first time and apparently some people want to learn all over again to make sure people know how cool they are by telling a troll off over and over and over and over.

  20. The Atlantic provides a deep-dive analysis of what likely happened to Malaysian flight MH370 and even though the conclusion made about the pilot was what I suspected from the beginning, it is nonetheless a chilling account.

It does seem very...brief, to say the least.  The one aspect that both men appear to agree on is that Malaysian authorities appear to have been less than forthcoming in the aftermath.

It just seems emotion based and outraged. The rebuttal is weak.

    4. DramatistDreamer

      DramatistDreamer

Yeah, I definitely sense some professional rivalry and defensiveness in that rebuttal post.  Even after reading the first piece, it did occur to me that it seems unlikely that we'll ever truly definitively know what went on in the mind of that pilot, we can only really surmise what could he have been thinking of.

Unfortunately, I do think that the story about Larry King is true. TMZ has often been right about things like that. I hope he ends up having a good recovery and will be okay. But that is definitely another scary situation.
