  1. Well these show is open with spoiling stuff in their end of show promos, so you do kind of get an idea of what's going to happen next week somewhat. But I do give Lee credit as he does leave out certain things in the promos. I feel like he displays all the glossy high-action/highly dramatic/comedic scenes but keeps the quiet more poignant scenes secret until the show airs.

Lee doesnt put together the promos. The marketing people just pull out scenes they think are flashy enough to draw in the audience.

  2. I would about die if Debbi Morgan got on this show. Make it happen, Lee Daniels! But it would cut like a knife, too, since Debbi ran daytime on AMC two summers ago. It is a travesty that show is not still on.

Isnt she on Power? Which is supposed to be similarish to this.

  3. I love how the ratings keep going up every week. It demolishes that whole "ideal" that "black does not sell in Hollywood."

    Lies. It does.

With a great story and characters, great actors, great writers/producers/directors, and a network/production studio that fully supports a project, it can succeed.

Now watch and see CBS and NBC start following suit. ABC already caught the hint with the success of Scandal & HTGAWT.

Daytime as a whole needs to pay attention to Empire. It is so refreshing to see characters with ambitions and jobs and business savvy.

Technically NBC was trying to sell black shows first. Problem is theirs sucked. Undercovers came before Scandal and that show was awful.

  4. Obama called up Lucious, cursed him out and then hung up. Really? rolleyes.gif

The entire Obama segment was so stupid and contrived to me. Hakeem azz aint even shown as politically conscious so him insulting the president came out of nowhere. And I know Obama does not have the time to be wasting caring about some ignorant child's video.

  5. Finally watching and its pretty damn good. I was afraid this would be like the Life and Styles of P Diddy, harem, and family.

Far superior than that hot mess The Haves & the Have Nots

I recognize that latino boyfriend from a kiddie soap opera my niece watches.

I was only familiar with Jussie as Jurnee's brother and Raven's friend but he's pretty good here.

  6. To be fair, it's a lot more feasible to be in school and do a primetime guest spot here and there rather than being contracted to a soap. Same goes for film depending on the size of his part. But yeah, I doubt education is his top priority right now nor should it be.

When he announced his leaving he claimed it was to focus on school more and finish his degree.

  7. 3 Day Christmas Also Known As: 3 Day Test is set to premiere on UP TV on November 22, 2013

Writer/Director Corbin Bernsen (25 Hill, Rust) presents a fun-filled family comedy starring George Newbern (Father of the Bride movies), Megyn Price (Rules of Engagement), and Taylor Spreitler (Days of our Lives).

Martin Taylor has totally lost touch with his family. He has no clue who his teenage daughter's friends are, why his son only communicates with an electronic sign outside his bedroom door, or why his youngest child only watches faith TV. Convinced the family needs to reconnect, Martin surprises the wife and kids with a little experiment-he locks them in their own home with no power, no heat, no running water, and absolutely no contact with the world outside! The sudden holiday staycation isn't what the Taylors had in mind for the weekend, but they'll have to team up to prove they can survive Dad's wacky mission. With a heartfelt message and some persistence, one little member of the family helps put their priorities back in the pews, because they'll need all the faith they have to get through this!

  8. Oh, and another thing. Amanda suing for her trust fund. Is that a cliffhanger? I certainly hope not. This is something that should have taken place midseason when she decided she wanted to go into fashion design. Being raped empowered her? When did that happen because, in between moping from one room to the next, Amanda has done nothing else

This bootleg Y&R! I didnt like sitting through that story with Victor's kids and I don't care to see it with Amanda.

  9. I have no interest in seeing Wyatt and Jeffery hook up. As a story it doesn't work at all and is not root worthy.

This writing for rape victim Amanda is awful.I'm already tired of seeing her wallow away in that hospital bed and I know from experience with this kind of writing it's only a matter of time before she's Candace 2.0.

  10. Lindsey Morgan has landed a role on The 100

    tumblr_mioytbsE171rhvwvxo1_500.jpg

She'll play Raven, who the show describes as "smart, skilled, and fiercely determined."

Raven is "the youngest mechanical engineer the Ark," the spaceship that holds the remaining members of humankind, has seen in 52 years. "Upon learning about the 100, a group of delinquents sent to Earth to find out if it's habitable, she's desperate to be reunited with her friends on the ground."

  11. dang I wasn't even making a reference to that but it shows how predictable Perry is

Now that I think about it that girl was a future Candace. Well Candace is a little more compassionate. There was an episode where she and her friend got all dolled up, went to a party at the frat house next door, her friend got raped at the party and she showed little compassion and actually told her friend to lie about it so her foster parents wouldn't punish her for sneaking out.

  12. It was probably a bf of Hanna's that raped Candice and that's why she hates her mother. If she knows, Hanna probably accused her of lying or even seducing him to hurt her and their relationship has gone downhill since

That's exactly what happened to the "fast ass" foster girl on the Meet the Browns show. She got raped by her mother's boyfriend and her mother believe the boyfriend over her.
