I've had KFC in the Caribbean and it's very tasty but my only thing is...if I'm in the Caribbean with all the local delights, why would I waste my tastebuds on the likes of KFC?  Better to sample the local cuisine.

When I was on study abroad in Europe, I would chide fellow classmates for running to McDonald's when they had so much to choose from.

The KFC in Trinidad is supposed to be amazing  and my fam always tells me I need to eat there when I go but I'm not there for fried chicken. I'm there for curry chicken. I'm going in a few weeks and my aunt keeps telling me to go eat at KFC.

It really doesn't, and I love it. It's one of those opening sequences that immediately set a tone and makes you want to watch. Any time I come across it, I check YouTube to see if the whole series is still there so that I can plan to watch one day.

I binged a chunk of the first year a couple years ago but never finished.

Let's not forget Sherri Saum who has been working consistently also. Her most recent show being The Fosters.

That is unfortunate that Mishael hasn't received a raise. She deserves one. I have always been curious about in how much money the different soap actors get and what perks they may also receive.

I recently saw an article on TMZ that mentioned they got a hold of the actress (Nia Sioux) who plays Emma on B&B's contact. They reported that she is getting $2,500 per episode. If she returns to the show next year her pay will be increased to $2,800 per episode. She also gets two weeks vacation.

That gives us an idea of at least what a minor character can get paid on a soap.(That article from Mishael's agent was also interesting and provided some insight into what can happen in negotiations.) I am interested in learning what other actors including vets get paid and how they go about trying to negotiate things.

That girl makes much more than your average newcomer because she's not unknown in entertainment. She's getting paid more for her name and fanbase. I heard the starting point is somewhere between 400 and 600 on average per episode.

Being vapid doesn't mean she's not book smart though, which is all she's said to be. Matter of fact they've made a point of telling us she's a bore and unpopular with her peers.

Agree about coming across as Lily's sister.

How can one be book smart and vapid at the same time? And them telling us she's a bore does not make her seem smarter.

I see that the boy who played Spencer on GH was on Twitter complaining about political speeches and Trump-bashing at the Tonys. I think de Niro is a grandstanding phony whose anti-vax support I can't forget, so I'm not going to cheer him for making easy potshots, but what the hell would you expect watching the Tonys? Did someone leave the TV on the wrong channel?  I guess he or his family knows what gets retweets...

    What did he post?

It's ironic to see how many actors of color who were accused of being boring/not able to act/lacking charisma go on to significant success after they leave Daytime.

Tika Sumpter being a perfect example.

Yep they always go on to book primetime right away while their white counterparts  who leave end up having to come back.

Let the poor woman spread her wings. Why does anyone even want her on a show where she’s underdeveloped and undervalued? She deserves better. I mean you all admit she hasn’t had one good story in 5 years.

I've been wanting her to do more outside of Y&R and this is the perfect opportunity.

Agree with this.  They wasted the entire five years.  It's sad to say, but if she was white, she already have had an anchor baby with Devon. That they didn't give them one four, two years ago in a  WTD tells me that they were never invested in her or her character.

Giving women "anchor babies" is just one of many problems wrong with soaps now. Tying her with Devon so tightly was part of the problem.

  9. I liked Mishael since I saw her on Supernatural prior to Y&R. I wanted her to be on a soap and was glad they cast her. I've never liked the Hilary and Devon pairing though and felt she shined best when Hilary wasn't with Devon or Neil. Hope she doesn't jump on any of the other soaps and just goes to primetime

    — Billy’s office renovation at Jabot? It looks worse. I liked Jack’s office MUCH more.

    — Kyle didn’t know he was wearing nothing? Just stupid writing. Why not have someone de-towel him? Also not believing that Hilary would be upset about it.

    — So glad Ashley told Jack she doesn’t trust him enough to work with him. Jack’s coming across as clueless and pathetic. And why hasn’t anyone mentioned Mergeron, bought by HWG? Why couldn’t Jack helm that division?

    — I can understand Nikki being upset about Nick possibly leaving town, but what does Sharon’s knowledge about JT have to do with that?

Of course Hilary was upset. It was live TV! She has to a pay a fine now for airing nudity.

This is the first episode I watched in awhile and this Jabot trash was on.

Didn't the actress who played her win the "I Wanna Be a Soap Star: Days of Our Lives" reality show on SoapNet?

No that was some other chick who didn't last long. Not that anyone who won that series lasted long. They were all barely on their soaps and booted off with a quickess

It's very sad. I hope their doctors have at least tried to nudge them toward a surrogate. I get that some women want to carry their own children, but sometimes that's just not in the cards.  Maybe it's easy for me to say since I've never been in their position. I just think once the baby is in your arms it's not going to matter so much how that happened.

Plus she's already experienced giving birth so it's not like she's completely missing out in that aspect
