Now, can anyone explain to me what the relationship is between this list & what is up on YouTube? Thanks!

Wherever episodes are available on Youtube, I've included channel names where they can be found.

I'm afraid I haven't been able to update in a while, which means I can't guarantee all episodes can still be found, and there may be newer uploads missing from the list. I still plan to update the list at a later date, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to.

  2. I just watched a portion of the 2001 Emmys, that was posted on The Locher Room channel some time ago. This brought back up a question I've had for some time. Does anyone has any information about the "Outstanding Original Song" category in the Daytime Emmys? Wikipedia lists nominees and winners in almost every other category except that one. I'd be very curious which songs have been nominated, or even won, for ATWT.

The 2001 telecast mentioned a song called "Beside Me" as a nominee for ATWT in 2001. I was watching the show religiously at that time, so I must have heard this song, but I can't at all place how it was used, or even who it's by.

Any info, either on Beside Me, or the Outstanding Original Song category in general, is appreciated!

Imagine a rebellious teenage Hope Dixon turning up at Grandma Kim and Grandpa Bob's house, tiring of being "ignored" by Andy and Denise, who she had split her time with.

I was actually waiting for this in the late 2000s. There was an episode in 2000, after David Stenbeck died, where he addressed the five women invited to his funeral - Denise, Emily, Julia, Lily and Molly - by pre-recorded video. In that video, he said that he'd organized that Hope would receive a letter once she turned 18, revealing that Denise had sold her to him as a baby. By the end of the show, Faith (who was obviously of the same age as Hope) was finally approaching the age of 18, so I always imagined Hope would be brought back, asking to live with her grandparents as she was upset with her mother. Obviously, even if the show had continued, it would have been a long shot for the writers at that time to even remember that.

It's a shame, because I think those long-term set-ups are one of the beautiful things about soaps, something that's really possible in no other medium, but if they are not followed up on they just go to waste.

  4. I just heard the news... I have no words.

I knew the legendary actresses of ATWT weren't going to live forever, but I was not quite ready when we lost Kathryn Hays last year, and I absolutely wasn't ready to hear about the amazing Elizabeth Hubbard today.

What an intense loss for the daytime community.

Widely regarded to be the best actress ATWT ever had.

I'll be revisiting some classic scenes over the next few days. I'm eager to try out some of her work on The Doctors as well.

    May she rest in peace!

ATWT went to color on Jan 20 1967, the first of the CBS serials to so so.

I wonder if this was also Eileen Fulton's return as the blonde, more glamorous Lisa? Would have been a nice tie-in.

I have this written down as February 20, 1967 from an earlier source. I can't immediately recall the source, but on the surface that makes more sense to me as February 20 was a Monday, whereas January 20 was a Friday. Seems like an odd move to debut color on a Friday?

  6. I've been really busy lately, and am slowly working my way to catch up with this thread. Loving all the 2000's ATWT love on p.342, thanks Bright Eyes for requesting. I still have a few more pages to catch up on, but I'm wondering if Bright Eyes got around to requesting the major ATWT actor that I've known for a while is still missing on the list 🤭

Appeared in two episodes of 7TH HEAVEN (Kenny, 1998) and BANSHEE  (Reed Schumacher, 2013).

    From his imdb bio:

Hunter Garner is the great, great, great-grandson of The Vice President of the United States of America, under FDR's first 2 terms, John Nance Garner.

Re: Hunter Garner. How sure are we these photos are him? As someone who remembers Billy Ross I can tell you the first picture is him. I could maybe buy the second picture being him (although the picture appears recent and the guy looks young), but I'm fairly sure the last three pictures are not the same Hunter Garner. I've long suspected there are two Hunter Garners merged on IMDB. It seems ATWT's Garner pretty much disappeared from the limelight after his stint. I do believe the credits for Disk-O Boyz and 7th Heaven are him, I think I remember reading about that back in '02.

I just read the IMDB page, and it says he was born in '85, that would have made him 16/17 in '01/'02. I'm pretty sure the actor was older.

  7. I normally try to stay out of these types of discussions, as I personally prefer the board as a tool for information sharing, rather than the kind of opinionated talk that happens here sometimes (not that I have any issue with others using it as such).

However, I feel the need to speak up. I've been biting my lips for a few weeks now. Let me clarify that I have no idea what has transpired in different threads on this board between some of the posters involved. I have been following this particular thread for a long time (both passively and more actively), and from what I can tell the only thing the user named adrnyc has done "wrong" is like the final decade of ATWT, as well as certain characters (Katie) and pairings (Henry & Barbara) in that decade. As someone who originally started watching in 2000, I often find myself agreeing with them. Having seen so much of the Marland era now, I completely understand why people hated the final decade. But without that context to rely on, I really enjoyed the 2000s in my original watching of it, including many of the elements that people hate (the Hogan Sheffer era, Hunt Block's Craig, Katie, and even bits of Janet and Henry & Barbara).

A few years ago, adrnyc posted several posts detailing their experience making their way through the Marland era as a first time watcher, and I always really enjoyed those.

There has, in the past, been a truly obnoxious troll active in this thread. I have the feeling that some people seem to think that adrnyc is this troll, under a different account. Personally, I do not believe this to be the case. I think part of the confusion is caused by adrnyc's posts often being quite defensive, although, to be honest, I can totally see why they are with the way this poster has been treated on this board time and again. However, in my opinion the tone of adrnyc's posts is quite different from that of the troll I mentioned.

As for the Colleen Zenk issue, I must admit I am also inclined to take it with a grain of salt. I DO believe adrnyc is speaking the truth about CZ relaying this information. I even think that CZ believes it is the truth. As some of you have pointed out, however, an actress might not be the most trustworthy source, especially one who is as emotionally invested in the show as CZ. We may never find out what happened exactly. I just don't see why our differing opinions on this matter have to lead to all of this nastiness. Let this be a call for this thread to get back to sharing information, opinions, and frustrations about the show in a respectful way.

I am not trying to pick one side over the other. As I said before, maybe there's more history between some of you than I am aware of. I have no personal affiliation with adrnyc, other than finding myself agreeing with some of their controversial ATWT opinions. All I'm asking is if you've made up your mind that adrnyc is a troll, go back and figure out what you base that on.

Long post over. Here's to hoping I won't be shunned for speaking up.

    Peace and love!

Really? In my defense, I watched scant episodes from those years, so what I mostly know of the character is from a few episodes in which Elena portrayed the character and various chatter on this message board.

Elena Goode was #1 from 2006-2007. Davida Williams was #2 from 2008-2009.

With Elena Jade was an interesting troublemaker. Davida's version never felt like Jade to me. It's cool to see her lining up a project with Venus Williams though.

  9. With all this talk about P&G wiping everything, I'm very pleased to announce that I am currently in the process of creating an ATWT vault!

I've been inspired by the vaults for B&B, Y&R and GL that I've seen on this board. I'm currently in the process of filling it up, so give me a little time before I share the links with all of you. I need to sort through a lot of stuff that I've left unsorted on my external hard drive for way too long. I've always taken the approach of "rather have three copies of an episode than no copy at all" when collecting episodes, so I'm tryin to sort all that out.

    Stay tuned!

    Updated.

Sorry I've been too busy to keep up these lists for a while. With the recent appearance of lots of never-before-seen episodes, this list was way overdue an update. A few notes:

    - I have kept channels that have disappeared from Youtube on the list. Many of these episodes are still available on different channels, if you search for them. Thus, if you're using this list to find episodes on Youtube, you may have to search past the original channel name.

    - On that note, since my last update of this list many channels have been created that contain episodes that were already in circulation. Although I used to list all channels on which an episode was available, that is simply proving to be too much work at the moment. Again, if the list indicates an episode is in circulation, you will likely be able to find it with a simple search.

    - If we can verify the August 22 pre-emption, we can connect the episode numbers throughout 1990. If it indeed exists, it would be an unplanned pre-emption, as the August 21 episode still invites viewers to "join us tomorrow". It may be related to "George H W Bush calls up military reserves" (https://www.onthisday.com/date/1990/august/22), but I'd love to see some verification that this indeed pre-empted the show.

Hey Brolden, will you be revisiting this thread?

Variety stated 2000th episode would air Friday Nov 29 1963

If you start counting on April 2, 1956 and count every day, then Nov 29, 1963 would be #2000. This confirms my earlier suspicions that in the early years, both planned and unplanned pre-emptions were given episode numbers. I'd be very curious to find out when they stopped doing this, my guess is somewhere in the early 80s.

This also means that in actuality, the show had far fewer episodes than its established episode number (13,858) would suggest. I'll update the early years later this week.

I'm the guy who has been posting the 90/91 episodes.  Like you, I have also been downloading episodes over the years just in case some (or all) ATWT episodes are taken down.  Sorry about the Dec 10, 1990 episode - I have no idea why it is not downloading.  I also just tried to download it using this website (https://yt5s.com/en112/youtube-to-mp4) but I got a 302 error.  Maybe if I re-upload it, you'll be able to access it?  I'll do that over the next day or two.

    That would be fantastic!

Thanks for uploading them on YouTube.

    I second that. Amazing work!

When I get the chance, I'll dust off the ATWT full episode list thread and update it properly!

  13. With all the recent never-before-seen episodes popping up on Youtube, I'm working hard to download these episodes and store local copies in case something happens to the online versions. Interestingly enough, one episode doesn't seem to be working. I can't seem to get the December 10, 1990 episode downloaded, my theory is it's because the URL contains two dash symbols, which is unusual. Has anyone else tried to download the episode and run into the same issue? Does someone know a workaround?

A member in one of my soap opera Facebook groups. Has an episode from 1973 in their private collection. Here are the screen shots. Which are not in great quality.

This is amazing! Thank you so much for including me. How do we get this person to upload to youtube?

  15. I don't see it reported on this board yet, but I just heard that Marnie Schulenburg (Alison) has passed.

    https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/as-the-world-turns-alum-passes-away-at-37/

She shared her story in 2020 about battling stage 4 breast cancer.

Marnie arrived at a time when the show was going downhill fast, but I always thought she brought some light in those years. She is way too young to have passed. I'm very saddened by this news.

It's been a tough year for ATWT fans. Losing so many of our greats.

Agim Kaba (Aaron) posted a brief tribute on Twitter:

  16. Such tremendously sad news. Kathryn Hays was among the very best of the very best.

In the 10 years I watched ATWT 'live', her role had sadly long been diminished, but I started truly appreciating her when I found the classic episodes online.

I haven't read this full thread yet, but I see the Marland era being mentioned a lot. Personally, I will be forever grateful to WeLoveSoaps and SoapClassics for publishing a series of episodes from late 1979 and early 1980. These episodes show Kim right after she's lost Dan, as she's trying to be be a parent to Betsy. Kathryn Hays was so beautifully understated in these scenes.

This is a huge loss for the daytime community. May she rest in peace.

  17. I wonder if someone can help me date this episode. I've noticed for some time that some of the classic 60s episodes appear on Youtube under several different dates.

These two videos show the same episode:

SoapsNThings lists it as January 1963:

Ohh Donna lists it as 1962 (unknown):

Since the SoapsNThings version was on Youtube first, I had it written down as January 1963. Does anyone know if this is correct?

  18. I am tremendously saddened by this news.

It is strange how affected you can feel by the passing of an actor you did not personally know, but this is one of those for me.

I first got acquainted with Lisa and in the Hogan Sheffer era when Iva returned and teamed up with Lucinda to find the truth about Rose. I realize this is far from Lisa's most memorable stint on the show, but even then there was something about her that just drew me in. Ever since I've discovered classic episodes on youtube, Lisa Brown has long been one of my favorites. There was always such an underlying tragedy in Iva's character, yet such warm familiarity in Lisa's acting.

I've never seen Guiding Light, but I'm very aware that before Iva there was Nola. To have created two characters that were so iconic is really a tribute to Lisa's talent.

From a quick glance of this thread, I already see classic scenes being shared, which warms my heart. I'll be taking out some time during this weekend to celebrate and remember Lisa Brown. May she rest in peace.

When I saw scenes a few years ago on YouTube of Susan's "open marriage" with Dan Stewart in the 70s,

Back up... there were scenes of Susan and Dan Stewart in the 70s on Youtube a few years ago?

I would love to see some footage of Susan in the 70s. Much as I love the string of 79/80 episodes that are available, I hate that they take place just after Dan has passed and Susan has left Oakdale.

User @feuxdelamour did a very good review of this, and there's some discussion in the ATWT thread

Hi, first of all great thread! Nice way to combine knowledge and resources cross-soaps. As the initiator of the ATWT full episode list, let me just say that I've been working on a major overhaul of this list. The latter years have already been updated accordingly, but 1987 is still overdue for an update.

Here is the info I have for ATWT in the month of July 1987. The red color indicates a (suspected) pre-emption. Anything that is in bold has been confirmed as either having aired or having been pre-empted. Many of the dates on which I suspect the show was pre-empted were found in the listings, but that makes sense, as the pre-emptions were largely unplanned. As you can see much of my info lines up with the info you have given above. One difference is that I have Thursday 23rd confirmed as a pre-emption for ATWT (as announced at the end of the previous episode) and according to my info that was the CBS-day that week. The Wednesday 22nd episode is actually available online.
