I see what I can do. . I’ll try something.. Don’t give up just yet.

EDIT: Your best option would be a GiftCard… U buy a giftcard online for RTL + and redeem it (just like I do with ITVX + and Paramount + International).. U don’t need any payment information anymore

If u have trouble finding the 5 soaps (yeah I count Berlin - Tag und Nacht + Köln 56667) let me know.. Since the last update it got a bit confusing how to find some Of the Classics but if u know how then it’s getting easier

Update: Unfortunately, the gift card sites failed. The main one, StarSelect, required me to verify my order by picture I.D., only to refund me because my verification failed due to a U.S. I.D. The Lidl and Penny stores don't do PayPal, so they rejected my card, and PayPal wouldn't let me complete my purchase on their site even with VPN enabled.

It was a good idea, and I appreciate you trying to help me. It's rather absurd for me to go so far just to see a particular storyline.

Only on RTL+ and they have like all episodes from UU, AWZ, GZSZ. But u need a premium account for like 5 bucks and the. just use a vpn and then u can watch all episodes.

ive tried so hard to upload those shows back in the day for friends outside of Germany but nah. RTl is tougher than CBS/Sony ffs. I swear to god the minute me or one of my friends uploaded GZSZ they were taken down immediately. Insane. But 5 bucks and nearly all of the 7700 episodes GZSZ, 7200 episodes UU and 4250 episodes of AWZ is a great deal and they have some other shows too (international ones).

I wish it were still this easy. RTL+ only accepts payments from the Single European Payment Area, so even VPN did not help me subscribe because all of my payments are from U.S. cards. Even PayPal did not work. I tried to see if someone would send me some GZSZ episodes I wanted if I paid them, but no one was willing. I'm so bitter.

Nah. Not really. No one bothers to upload them anymore coz RTL has been killing any site there was..

But U could use a vpn and watch it all over RTL +

Im really disappointed with the German Soaps in 2023.. UU killed off Corinna :( Brought back OG Jennifer from The 90‘s with nothing to do, rest of the Storys been dragging since 2022 like the David-Vivi-Tobias story, all the newbies bringing nothing but boredom to the table.

Gzsz had a boring year too so far. There is not one memorable thing that happened besides Sasha/Emily. Rest is meh.

AWZ has been dead for over a year.
Dahoam is Dahoam has been interesting coz they have a gay couple in a small town over 50.. AND there was a fire like 3-4 months ago that gave some characters a lot to do.

Sturm der Liebe lost so many cast members that made that show worthwhile again. With them gone we are in a slump there.

Rote Rosen has been boring too for a while.

Thank you. I never thought of the vpn thing. I did not know RTL was so passionate about stopping uploads.

  4. I agree about the Lisa/Lucinda feud.  Eileen Fulton often stated she enjoyed Lisa's wicked side best, and I feel that shows in her work. The way Lisa went after Lucinda, and her later ruthlessness in trying to ruin John, were some of the last great moments given to the character. I got tired of Lisa being an agony aunt for Oakdale's younger set.

I recall Lisa and Lucinda being friendly in the late 90's. I don't know if it was a mutual dislike of Molly, but I recall them working together to stop her from disrupting Lily's wedding or something.

Thanks for the clip!   Phillip's court hearing was one of my favorite stories of that time period, because it brought back all the animosity between Kay and Jill, plus involved having lawyers "distort" the facts of their misdeeds, to make them both sound even worse than they really were.  And say what you will about Thom Bierdz, but he had the Little Lost Boy role down to a science.

Cricket, though --- good Lord, it's even worse than I remembered.

I agree about Thom Bierdz. I felt for Philip in those scenes. I wonder if it was Dickson's choice or she was directed to have Jill seem so smug in those scenes. Except for a brief moment, it was as if Jill didn't care about the emotional trauma Philip would face.

  6. Thank you all for the info on Katherine and Victor. I got my info from Wikipedia, which is frequently questionable.

Funny when i first started watching i always thought ashley was boring but really good looking, i think ive only started to like her character as of recently i feel like she really took control over jacks being a [!@#$%^&*] about paternity. I dont blame her for pulling the stunt that she did it just added on another layer to her character

Jack is incredibly annoying, IMO. I find him slightly more irritating than Victor due to the fact Victor is at least self made. Jack's just inherited everything and has a sense of entitlement.

  7. I have a question that may seem dumb or silly. I was curious if Katherine was supposed to be as wealthy as Victor? I know the character originally came to GC to run Chancellor for her, which suggests to me that his company was formed after Chancellor already existed. Jack once said Chancellor was the one company that could take on Newman; however, I always had the feeling Victor was supposed to be the richest character on the show.

I've loved the Lauren/Traci talks with them burying the hatchet...and Brad admitting she was the one that got away.

I like when Traci comea back for visits...she's the one that inherited John's wisdom and calmness.  I loved even Victor was intimidated by her.

When has Victor been intimidated by Traci? I haven't paid much attention to the show since she gave him her daughter's heart and told him not to waste it (which he did). I enjoy the character of Traci, but it would be nice to see her get fed up with Jack and Victor now and then. Their feud is pathetic at this point.

I'm with you 100%. These episodes have shown me a different side of Mark. I'm used to the less troublesome character he was in the early 80s and his return visits in the 2000s, so to see him on drugs and better yet, see Erica being downright responsible towards him is really nice. Josh should've been Mark's son from a drug-fueled banger.

Josh being Mark's son would have been excellent. The un-abortion story is one of the worst in soap history IMHO. I actually cannot remember Erica having a decent storyline during the show's last decade. The Bianca rape story had great potential, and I feel Susan Lucci displayed some of her best work during certain scenes, but AMC ultimately derailed it by having things drag on and the atrocious AMC/OLTL crossovers that wouldn't end.

On a side note, I'm still annoyed those crossovers never resulted in a proper scene between Erica and OLTL's Dorian.

I just finished up watching most of December 1986, and I actually don’t think Antoinette Byron was that bad. Her Skye had the unfortunate job of driving a popular character (Tad) out of town and splitting up a popular couple (Tad & Hillary) in the process.

Speaking of popular couples, Cliff and Nina are sickening as hell. I can’t believe they spent so much time and energy on a couple’s second wedding. The only saving grace is that so many of the other, more interesting stories were advanced by the wedding.

These episodes have really endeared Erica and Mona’s mother-daughter relationship to me. For better or for worse, Erica never had a bigger fan or supporter than Mona.

I wish AMC had kept Mark and given Erica more family outside her children. Mona passing left a huge void, and I never felt Opal or Myrtle were enough. Erica's relationship with Mark was something I enjoyed, especially when his drug problem was out of control. I also enjoyed her concern for Mona's health around 1992. It was those moments that gave Erica something beyond the typical romance storylines AMC seemed to love throwing at the character.

I personally felt Erica's pursuit of men were among her most dull storylines after a point. Her career ambitions, relatives, drug problems, and mental issues were far more interesting to me.

I was watching episodes where Skye is part of a vigilante group against people w/ AIDS , setting fire to Cindy's house in an effort to kill her.
It's difficult to like the character after that, even though she would show remorse for her actions.

As you said, Robin Christopher seems to have retired from acting, but would anyone be interested, if AMC returned,  in seeing Carrie Genzel back in the role??

I would accept Carrie Genzel if Robin Christopher did not return. She was perfectly fine as Skye, but Robin will always be my favorite.

Regarding Skye's likability, I agree. However, Adam abducted Erica, tried to drive Dixie into a madhouse after using her for a baby, and cost Gloria a child, so I don't personally view Skye as irredeemable. I know very few people seem to have enjoyed the character on any soap, but I saw her as a lonely and emotionally damaged woman.

AMC would definitely be lacking without DC and the character of Adam, but we all know that in soap world, gigantic titans don't live forever, and the least they can do is try to pick up the pieces and manage without him. They'd be foolish not to have Adam's death create tons of story possibilities.

Didn't the online revival do a flash forward of five years? That would put it as being set in 2016, so I think it would be perfect to just flash forward three years after that and just continue with 2019. It wouldn't be hard to factor in aspects of the revival series given that it only ran for about 40 episodes.

I've given a lot of thought since last night about the characters and cast I'd like to see on yet another go-round with the show. The biggest challenge would be that scaling it back to 30 minutes would mean less characters, which makes it hard to determine which legacy families would be represented and which would not.

At the very least, you need Erica's crew, the Martins, the Chandlers, and the Hubbards. They provided a great nucleus in the last few years of the ABC run and during the revival series. Maybe the key would be focusing on certain siblings and their offspring as regular characters as opposed to presenting big huge families stretching all over the canvas.

Erica's gang could be centered on Erica, Bianca, and Miranda. Kendall and her kids are not necessary, except maybe her son with Ryan. Just for goodness sake, acknowledge that maybe Spike isn't his actual fooking name or maybe even have him say straight-up that his mom was a goddamn idiot and that he changed his name upon turning 18 and enrolling at PVU.

Keep Joe and Ruth around as long as humanly possible to be head of the Martin family. Have the new and improved MEK back as Tad. Maybe Dixie's there, I don't know. I actually really enjoyed Amanda and Jake, but I'd have them happily married offscreen. Their son Trevor could be on the canvas, though, also returning home to start at PVU. He could be a friend, rival, or lover of not-Spike Lavery. I'm ready to completely ignore Tad's add-on daughters from near the end of the show's run. MAYBE keep Jenny so that we can see him as father to a hellraising daughter (maybe she idolizes Erica?). I have always been deeply in love with Jamie Martin, so he's back.

The Chandlers have to be in a state of chaos at the onset of a new series because they just absolutely have to pick up upon Adam's death. Brooke is still there, and we also have JR, but I think Scott needs to be there, too. There was some good stuff with those two pitted against one another in the last year or so on ABC, and they would be wise to capitalize on that. Colby and AJ are needed.

The Hubbards are so easy because they'd done a great job resetting and developing this family before the ABC cancellation. Angie, Jessie, Frankie, Randi, and Natalia, with the explanation given that Natalia and Brot broke up.

Opal and Peter are back. I liked Carter Anders, so I'd bring him back on a recurring basis until he's tied in enough to be a major player. I'm envisioning conflict between Carter and Frankie, exacerbated by a burgeoning romance between Carter and Natalia, who also has another love interest (new character). I'd also bring back Francesca James, but this time she recurs as Kelly Tyler, who has moved back to Pine Valley with Linc, who also recurs.

I'd also do what they tried to do with Michael Nouri as Caleb and cast an 80s hunk as Erica's new man, except this time it's one who is actually still somewhat hunky. Patrick Duffy or someone like that.

So your cast of characters would look like this:

    Contract/major

    1. Erica Kane
    2. Bianca Montgomery
    3. Miranda Montgomery
    4. Mark Lavery (not-Spike named himself after deceased great-uncle Mark)
    5. Tad Martin
    6. Dixie Cooney
    7. Trevor Martin
    8. Jenny Martin
    9. Jamie Martin
    10. Brooke English
    11. JR Chandler
    12. Scott Chandler
    13. Colby Chandler
    14. AJ Chandler
    15. Angie Hubbard
    16. Jessie Hubbard
    17. Frankie Hubbard
    18. Randi Hubbard
    19. Natalia Hubbard
    20. Opal Cortlandt
    21. Peter Cortlandt

    Recurring/minor
    1. Joe Martin
    2. Ruth Martin
    3. Kelly Tyler
    4. Linc Tyler
    5. Carter Anders
6-10. New characters to interact with existing characters

I know she is not necessarily a fan favorite, but I would welcome the return of Skye Chandler Quartermaine if AMC were revived. I believe Robin Christopher now lives a quiet life in Pennsylvania, but I enjoyed her portrayal of Skye and would welcome the character. I never took to JR or Colby in comparison to Skye or even Hayley (and we all know Kelly Ripa is not an option unless they maybe got her for a DC tribute episode).

  13. I apologize if this was posted, but here is a cute clip of Nikki dancing with a character called Mark in 1988. The only Mark I recall on Y&R was Marc Mergeron. It's interesting to see Nikki have fun and be so lively. I feel being with Victor and around Katherine often made Nikki seem older than the character would have been at that time.

Partial episode from March 14, 1989. If I'm not mistaken this came from a youtube user  btm85bubs (I saved the episodes but not the channel name).

I also noticed I have parts 2, 3, and 4 of an episode from 1/27/93.  Total is 27 minutes so there's part 1 and maybe 5-8 out there.

I also have most of 4/8/93... part 2-8 out of 8.  No part 1.  Total running time is 49 minutes with commercials. I think they were all originally from the same user. If anyone happens to have those missing parts, I'll paste them together and upload the whole episode.

    Thank you so much.

Katherine's endless obsession and insane way of viewing her history with Jill was something I wish Y&R had explored during the later years. I don't know if the writers could not be bothered to pay attention to show history, but the active attempt to change the narrative to Katherine being the eternal victim was absurd. The fact she was so vicious and hateful to Jill was part of what made her character interesting and complex.

In the Old Y&R thread, being treated to some vintage episodes from the 1970s and appreciating how magnanimous many Y&R fans are, dipping into their collections and trading and sharing videos.  Also wondering why ATWT doesn't have that same tradition.

The Y&R videos are in such good picture quality, better than many of the ATWT ones from the 1980s and even early '90s!

I truly don't understand what would be the harm in sharing, if you have vintage videos?  I feel like, with Y&R, every year a crop of vintage episodes pop up somewhere online while with ATWT, I'm seeing many of the same videos uploaded and reuploaded from the past ten years on YouTube.

    1

I have no idea why classic ATWT from the '70s and '80s is so rare. Y&R fans have to go the extra step of making their uploads private since Sony or CBS has public uploads removed quickly. ATWT doesn't have that issue since it's off the air, so the lack of uploads is surprising.

It would be nice if one of these days someone came out with a whole playlist of complete Y&R years from like 1982-present (but I would only watch 82-05, LOL)
Hell Days has uploads on twitter from like 1984-present

btw it seems our friend pannoni 4 found a new home to upload his videos...it's a site called "archive.org" which I guess might have been various youtube videos no longer found on the regular site, but it also seems to be a good place for uploading material that needs to be "protective" he's uploaded some 1984 Days episodes so far.

    https://archive.org/details/@pannoni4

I did some searching on the site and stumbled upon a video that has various soap episodes from January 20, 1994....some of the ABC lineup but Y&R from that date was included too!

You are the best! I was wondering where, or if, he'd continue to upload.

Why can't we ever episodes of y&r from the beginning years like I know it's hard to find but damn I'm sure those are the good vintage days of that shows time

I also am interested to see who interacted with who before the shift changed forever in the early 80's

It's a shame. Youtube is packed with old All My Children episodes from the 80's, 90s and 00s, but little Y&R. I know Y&R gets reported, so maybe they just don't want to bother making private playlists.

Brooke was kind of a judgmental shrew.. so I loved it when Erica would always burst her bubble.  With that said, Erica/Brooke consistently didn't care for one another and that was maintained up till the end of the ABC version of the show.  One time when my mom tuned in (late 90s).. she noticed Brooke and Erica didn't interact at all and wondered if the two had somehow made peace until Erica said she wouldn't trust getting a final meal from Brooke if her life depended on it.. and my mom said 'well that answers my question'.

Since Brooke was Erica's best female sparring partner.. let's select who would come in 2nd after Brooke?  Erica vs Annie was entertaining.. Erica vs Greenlee was slanted where Erica would come out on top.  I would say perhaps original recipe Natalie or Barbara would be a close 2nd to Brooke for best sparring partner for Erica.

I felt like Erica never came out on top with Greenlee. Greenlee outed her daughter, started Fusion in a direct effort to ruin Erica, almost killed Erica-though it was technically David's doing to take it so far-by having her plane messed with, almost killed Erica's grandson, then caused Kendall to prematurely give birth due to stress or whatever. Thanks to the atrocious decision to make her Jack's daughter, she was always forgiven and portrayed as a victim, yet Erica was evil whenever she did anything. I really felt the Montgomery brothers were the undoing of the Erica Kane character. She went from a totally self-absorbed career-driven diva to a sometimes amusing, yet ultimately boring wife and mother.

  19. I wish there was more Youtube videos of the plot to kill Lisa that occurred between 88-89 after Earl went missing. I think the episode just before James henchman tried is uploaded, but not the actual part where they try. I am so mystified that so much "new" All My Children content is steadily uploaded from the 80's and 90's, but so little ATWT. Was AMC the most popular soap during those years?

  20. Does anyone recall Zsa Zsa Gabor's very brief guest stint on the show in 1981? I read she was on for about ten episodes and played the sister of Miranda Marlowe. The only picture from her stint I've seen is one with her and Anthony Herrera, so I'm assuming they shared scenes.

I'm curious what her character actually did.
