Kay and Jill's heart to heart at Phillips grave 1985

Who the heck is MarkScan Enforcement? They sound like a scam. Why can other soaps have so much online but not Y&R?

I really wanted to see this video because I don't remember it. Does anyone know if it's posted anywhere else?

The kid looked afraid of Jeanne. 😂

I thought that kid was pretty happy with Kay blowing bubbles and the like. It seemed like they played throughout that entire party.

I thought Jill freaked him out. He said something like Neat, both my grandma's are here, but it almost sounded sarcastic. Jill's was so bummed out about how close they were, but we got a little taste of their rivarly. I miss them.

    What a shame.

It’s odd that, all during the pandemic when they aired classic episodes, they made the episodes available for viewing on the CBS website but not this one?

Did they sing 2 verses of America The Beautiful? 🤣

The most shocking reminder I got from that episode was how much Katherine cared about little Phillip. I forget that she considered him a grandson. That was so sweet. Today Chance is written like he doesn't' even know Kathinere, or Jill for that matter. It' such a shame how far the show has fallen.

  4. WTH is happening on this show? Isn't Chance supposed to taking care of his family home for Jill?

Jill fought tooth and nail for that Chancellor mansion for decades and her grandson Chance just hands it over to Devon and Abby like nothing. 🙄  It's like he's not even aware that his grandfather is Phillip Chancellor II.

Does anyone know if the Chancellors are being written out for good? If Chance is moving out of his own mansion I would think his days are numbered. Winter's mansion???

  5. Tucker is supposed to be the exact same age as Jill. (Jess Walton is 72)

His origin story is that he was born on the same day as Jill. That's why Jill was thought to be Katherine's daughter for 7 years. They were both at the hospital as newborns at the same time, hence the mix-up.

Tucker was a result of Katherine having an affair with Judge Arthur Hendricks while she was married to her first husband Gary Reynolds. When Y&R began in 1973, Kay and Phillip Chancellor were said to have been married like 10 years already too, so it's impossible for Tucker to be under the age of 65. He's a few years younger than Brock. But now all the sudden Tucker is younger than Sharon? He's now in the same generation as Sharon, Nick, and some others that were born on Y&R.

I don't know another soap role that was cast a full generation younger. This really messes up the historical timeline of Genoa City.

    Josh Griffith sucks!

Could Trevor St John be playing Cole Howard?

That would be interesting, he would be the right age.

Unfortunately, I'm starting to believe the rumors that they are de-aging Tucker over 20 years for TSJ could be true because Josh Griffith doesn't really seem to care about history.

I hope not though, Tucker being Sharon & Nick's age throws every one off. Tucker would then be about 15 years younger than Ashley?

Tucker's origin story is based on being born on the exact same day as Jill, so his whole story becomes nonsensical if they cast him a full generation younger.

    Abby/Chance
We are exploring a couple that perhaps married too quickly. The Honeymoon may be over and they'll have to work to fix it.

🙄 Getting married isn't the problem, having Devon's baby is.

There was no reason to rush out and have a kid ASAP. Normal people would have waited a second to find out if Chance's swimmers could heal from his time in the hospital. But they think a baby from anyone in town will do????? Dumbest, most unrealistic story ever. And offensive to boot.

I don't give a flip about who's the new CEO for Chance Com-Newman-Winters-Hamilton. What do these companies even do???

A merger story can be interesting every once in awhile, but two mergers at once is over kill. It makes them both mean nothing.

Two seconds after Jill gives Lily the position of a lifetime she announce a merger? There what could have been months of drama of Lily getting into this job. Bring Jill back to mentor her for awhile. Make this look believable.  Instead, they skip right over Lily to get to Devon in charge really. What's the huge rush?

Abby finally has some involvement in her family’s stories.

The problem is when she is involved it's not about her life. I find it crazy she has to keep Devon threatening to sue her for that baby, when her husband was sick, a secret from everyone in her family. If my spouse was sick the first place I would go for support is my family. She can't even tell them what she went through now. Her life is really isolated from them now.

What IS the plot here other than "Diane's alive"? She explained why she did it and where she was. Have they hinted at more? Or does this writing team think her mere existence is enough? A month of Jack announcing to Genoa City that Diane is alive does not constitute a story.

All the stories feel like this, the set-up seems to be the story. Then they just talk & talk about the set-up for months, and then it fizzles out without any climax or resolution.

They are still in the same place in the Ashland story. Ashland lied, we found that out months ago, but they keep rehashing it like it's new information.

I haven't commented about the lack of Jill since hearing about Jess' husband's cancer. I just think we should all be sending her good will and realize that she's struggling right now. The best support to give her until she announces her willingness to return in whatever capacity.  For now, Jill's pop-ins work for me.

Maybe part of the reason she is struggling is that she is isolated up their all by herself. Y&R was like her family for decades and now she seems to have lost that too.

She's never going to announce a willingness to return unless she's been offered a story or a place at Y&R. And Josh Griffith didn't use her when she was ready and willing to go years ago. Jess Walton rented an apartment near the studio after MAB was let go and JFP said she'd use her. But Josh Griffith didn't write her in so she gave it up. It took Sally Sussman and Chuck Pratt to write her into anything.

The dialogue between Chance, Abby, Devon, and Amanda was really atrocious. The whole thing reminded me of some cheesy afterschool specials from the late 80s or one of those cheesy “a very special” episodes NBC family sitcoms like the Hogan Family use to do the late 80’s/early 90’s.

The set-up was even bizarre. None of Chance or Abby's family even knows the child is sick, or even that Devon forced  them into a shared custody agreement and is referring to himself as the father now.

Both Abby & Chance are wealthy and could've paid for a hospital type set-up. Yet they make a point of Devon doing it for him and falling all over themselves with praise for him. It was all so phony, a very uncomfortable set-up given Devon was threatening to use Chance's PTSD and Abby's trip to Spain to destroy them in court if they didn't give him what he wanted. Despite their cutesy montage I felt no love in that room....only misery. The whole story line has been miserable clusterfuck for over a year.

Jill reappears later this week.  Don't know how long she'll be around this time.  Jess still lives in Oregon.

I know, and MO/Abby lives in Nashville but she gets plenty of screen time. Josh Griffith didn't write for Jill the last time he was head writer either. He see's older woman a grandmas.

Jill was front burner on this show for 4 decades but she can't even be a matriarch to her own family. ... not even part time....not even part-part time like they do with Monica on General Hospital. At lease GH gives her the respect of the lady of the Quartermaine mansion and  her seat on the board of General Hospital.

Yet Jack & Victor, the powerful old men are front & center with their families.

I agree about Mia. I really liked her actually, and I also thought she gave off young Jill Foster vibes.

I still really like Jess Walton and she can still give off perfect Jill Foster Abbott vibes. Where is she?

They seem to be right in the middle of a story with a company she OWNS.  Jill has been associated with everything Chancellor since the very beginning, and she is not part of the story line. She owns Chancellor Industries and the Chancellor mansion, her son Billy and grandson Phillip Chancellor the 4th are in both in front burner stories, but no Jill.

They would never treat Jack & Victor like this with Jabot and Newman. With women they just substitute a much younger model and go with it like nothing has happened. This show is CRAP!

    Paul? How so?

Because Y&R tends to have the heirs end up working in the family business.

    -Newman's at Newman Enterprise

    -Abbotts at Jabot

-Glo at Fenmores (even Jill was working there when they were playing that part of her life)

-Phillip III, Cane (when he was thought to be Phillip III), and Jill as Kay's daughter,  at Chancellor

Paul's father Carl was a police detective, so Paul was a detective, then ended up working for the GCPD.

So it seems to me they are having Chance takeover Paul's former role...once again.  It kind of bugs me that they have stereotyped those who have served this country as only fit for being a detective or a police officer. I have people in my family, and friends, who are former military and NONE of them are those two occupations. (One former Navy seal who crawled down foxholes in Vietnam became a psychiatrist on the GI Bill.)

Chance is a Chancellor, Jill should be offering him a place at the company that she and his grandfather have both run, it's his legacy. His father worked there too. Not to mention the company bears his name. Given he almost just died -again- Chance's safety should be uppermost in Jill's mind. It doesn't seem like Jill not to offer him a less dangerous career in the company. She goes out of her way for Billy by setting up subsidiaries tailored just for him. What about Chance?

At one point, Kay was Chance's great grandmother.

Yep, that was the case for 6 years, even Billy was a grandson.

But even before the blood connection Kay tried to be the mother/grandmother. First she tried to buy Phillip III as baby for a million dollars. Next she convinced him to live with her, then she tried to adopt him. And finally she just settled on acting as a 2nd mother anyway. Phillip lived with her, after that Kay was having him trained to run Chancellor etc.

She repeated it to a lesser extent with Chance by trying to control Nina. And always being side by side with Jill when they would visit little Phillip.

Yes, and he also referred to Katherine as Chance's "Grandmother", which I guess would be a misconception to a lot of people.

Not to me. Katherine considered herself mother to Phillip III (and then grandmother to Phillip IV) for most of the show. Even when Chance returned as John Driscoll she was front and center as grandmother.

It wasn't until when they connected Devon to her that the writers started to ignore that connection.

I hate this Devon/Abby baby story. It's makes no sense for either party but especially not Devon

I hate it too. It makes no sense for Chance either, he's supposed to have a Phillip Chancellor the 5th  and run Chancellor Industries. I don't feel any legacy of family here, the writers treat him like he's Paul's son.  I wish Bill Bell could send the writers a memo.

Katherine left Chancellor Industries entirely to Victor in her will.  Jill later purchased it from Victor.  Jill owns it entirely.

Coincidentally, Victor and Jill discuss this in the episode of Mon 6 Dec CDN (Tue 7 Dec US).  [Not really a spoiler so I think it's okay for me to say that.]

The bigger news is that Jill wants to retire, so, last week, she offered Lily Winters the CEO position of all of Chancellor Industries.  Jill wants to remain at C.I. but only in an advisory role.

Jill also said to Victor she is retiring in the same way he retired so Jill is still going to be in control.

I hope she offers her grandson something at Chancellor so he doesn't die again. It's time for Phillip Chancellor IV to continue the family legacy. Jill can acquire a company that makes military equipment or something to start, but eventually he should be the one running that place.

  18.  I don't care how old Chance is all I see is an extremely attractive man and I really want to keep him! 🥰😍😚

He looks perfectly natural as Jill's grandson to me.

But the idiots in charge have him styled all wrong. I get that they wanted him looking a little rough after a bombing, but they made him up like a 21 yr old that lives in his mom's basement. If you look at his Instagram or IMBd page he can look groomed and older.

    • Devon mulls the possibility of a custody suit for Dominic with Amanda’s backing; however things get complicated when Devon may have unrequited feelings for Abby!

What? What a slap in the face to Amanda who has been nothing but supportive to Devon. I guess we should have known better when Devon ran over and offered up his sperm to Abby. A man wanting a woman to have his baby does hint at having an attraction toward her.

I guess I thought Devon was going to become the lead of the Winter's family and follow in Dru & Neil's footsteps but building their own family empire. ..especially after Neil set up HWG for them. Instead Devon wants to merge with Abby & be part of the Newman's? There have been lots of scenes with Victor lately.

If this happens please hook up Amanda with that gorgeous new Chance and let her have the next Phillip Chancellor the 5th! Screw Devon.
