  1. If anyone is a Mike Douglas fan, someone uploaded a 1974 episode - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnHowPVk7tM

Yes, I remember reading about some kind of conflict fairly recently between Bill and the children.  I think he got offended when one of them made a derogatory comment regarding Father's Day.  They definitely seem to consider Kurt their father.

Oh, I'll have to check those out too.  Yes, Bill Hudson was married to Goldie and is the father of her two oldest children.

Thanks Carl!  I used to watch his show.  He often had soap stars as guests.  It's kind of bittersweet to see Tony Perkins and Berry Berenson newly married and happy considering what happened to them both later.

  4. It's kind of sad Diana Ross is now regarded as a bit of a joke and her contributions to pop culture (mostly with the Supremes) seems to be glossed over these days.

I saw her in concert a few weeks ago and she was great.  Very warm and engaging with the audience too.  People of all ages attended.

  5. Wondering why DAYS hasn't reached out to Denise Alexander for the 50th so Julie & Doug could have a story arc....

I once read an interview with Corday in which he said he wasn't very familiar with the first ten years of Days (which I consider the best years). Based on the SOD and Emmy tributes, I think the 60s and 70s are going to be largely ignored. They'll probably let Doug and Julie hang around for a bit in the background to represent that time period.

  6. Ricky Nelson was so GORGEOUS. Here he is performing "Garden Party" in concert, just a few months before his fatal plane crash. The 30th anniversary of his death is this New Year's Eve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxdiraVxwkI

One of my earliest crushes. I think he was always described as "dreamy." He was talented too.

  7. This is awesome. Every Friday this month TCM will be running pre-code movies. These were some of the toughest, most honest films ever made. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/09/02/alec-baldwin-robert-osborne-to-present-pre-code-classics-every-friday-in-september-on-tcm/298825/

I love the pre-Code movies and I'm looking forward to this. Glad to see several Warren William films on the list. He's probably my favorite pre-Code cad!
