  1. The 'Sex and the City' pilot is still one of the most brilliant half-hours of TV out there. The show wasn't yet fully-formed but it was so different, original, smart and raw. Not hard to see why it became such an obsession so quickly.

There is such an obvious gulf between the first three seasons and the rest that followed. It kind of seemed that the show lost its teeth in a way.

  3. I wonder what a JFP and RC reign at GH would have been like? Probably still garbage but I would have been willing to sit through it for a minute.

I wonder if they would cancel out each other's indulgent qualities

  4. General Hospital is getting pre-empted again…lol…and in other news Guy Wilson is getting pounded on his bad acting from viewers and they want him fired….LOL

Why do I think the new regime is gonna double down on Guy and write Sonny/Paul out?

  5. There ain't nothing sadder than a classic sitcom with a terrible final season(s).

It's such a shame how quickly that show fell off. I do find it interesting how Marla and Regina still mention every once in a while that they regret not getting a final season to end it right.

I was just about to bring up 227! I found it humorous how it took what seemed like 35 people to replace one Sandra.

I was gonna say Amen, haha. The final season is running on Encore Black right now and aye...it is NOT good at all. Everyone's written badly (especially Thelma) and it's just not a good look.

  8. Can those who watched EMPIRE tell, spoiler-free, how it was??? So excited to catch up tomorrow!

It was everything. Taraji killed it and wore it.

  9. You know things are rotten in soapland when the best one on the air is B&B. I always forget Bradley Bell can deliver when he's not phoning it in.

The Rick/Maya/Caroline story is the wildest "straightforward" soap story I've seen in a long time. Everyone's killing it and the writing is just...dishy!

  10. There can never be enough good things said about AMC & OLTL 2.0. They were so good that it was really easy to overlook any set and budgetary shortcomings and just enjoy the ride.

No soap on daytime with the possible exception of B&B sometimes had the level of technical excellence the nuAMC and OLTL did.

Maude? At this rate we may finally get the rest of 227 by 2027, haha.

The Good Wife's been great this season. I do agree w/ Nashville and Sleepy Hollow though. I'd add Scandal but it's starting to pick up again.

  13. Countess Vaughn revealed that when she worked on 227, an elder as she put it, made fun of her on set and she overheard it. I wonder who it was?

The consensus on Twitter is that it was probably Helen Martin.

What could it be; Benard out? Geary retiring? Kaye out?

  15. OMG there are even more people coming to GH that haven't been announced yet. This is getting ridiculous.

  16. To this day, I wonder why Nia Long vanished from "Fresh Prince" overnight.

The rumor I always heard was that the network thought the show was funnier when Will was single, which I find silly.

CBS has really been stepping up their Blu-Ray game. First the Star Trek releases, then the Twilight Zone and now I Love Lucy. And if the rumors are to be believed, we're also getting Honeymooners, Twin Peaks and Cheers blu sets in 2014.

  17. What's up with the very obvious stage lights and boom mics appearing in almost every other FRIENDS episode? It's seriously obnoxious.

The HD prints of Seinfeld are chock-full of these issues too.

Don't ever mention politics; not left-wing, not right-wing, NOTHING. Don't pick fights with fans. Don't pick fights with bloggers. Have a sense of humor about yourself and your character. No "meaningful" quote barfs.

If they actually had Patrick choose Sabrina over Robin, I feel like the Scrubs fans would send death threats up the wazoo.

  20. Reading a 2006 interview HBS gave when Nora was in that lengthy coma. It's very honest and seriously depressing.

One of the few things Carlivati did right in the show's long term was bringing Nora back to the frontburner.

  21. Watching some some episodes of the Nick sitcom Taina on Youtube. I forgot how much I liked that show when it was first on the air.

    1. BingCherry

      BingCherry

Nick's reason for cancelling the show at the time (because it's ratings amongst boys was almost nonexistent) is deeply ironic because Nick caters entirely to tween girls now.

  22. I had no idea Hillary B. Smith starred in a sitcom, let alone on NBC and at the same time as OLTL. How did legal swing that? Lol

    1. BingCherry

      BingCherry

I believe the sitcom taped in New York, so I think that made it easier for her to juggle.

  23. Caroline cracked me the hell up on B&B today. I want her to wipe that smirk off of Maya's face.

    1. BingCherry

      BingCherry

I just want them both to realize how much of a chump Rick is, then team up as the Thelma and Louise of LA. It's only right/fair, because of how few female friendships are on the show.
