I thought all that layer of fat protected her. Did they make mention of her being dead? It seemed odd that it wasn't more of a big deal if that's what actually happened
They didn't say she was dead. Madison mentioned they hadn't found all the bodies and one of the girls asked if they wanted to go to the morgue and they said no.
I suspect we'll find out what happened to Queenie in the next week's episode.

John Brotherton (ex-Jared, OLTL) is in The Conjuring. He plays a local cop.

I think the show's success has more to do with Tyler Perry's large fanbase. They are loyal and will watch ANYTHING he produces. This is just a black daytime soap in a one hour format. I kinda wish they'd completely owned the fact that they're creating a soap, instead of trying to say this is Tyler Perry's answer to Downton Abbey. This is clearly inspired by his years of watching The Young and the Restless. I only watched a bit of the pilot, but it looks watchable in a cheap, cable soap sort of way. I find it so interesting that Oprah is having success with this when she was so against picking up the soaps. I still think AMC and OLTL would be a good fit for OWN. This is proving that.

Never underestimate the power of Tyler Perry's fanbase.I loved it too--but in a very guilty pleasure way and so much of the fancy stuff looked cheap (like the green screen boat stuff in the opening episode.)
Maybe OWN shoulda picked up the ABC soaps when people asked Oprah if those were the numbers they needed for record highs...

I guess I'm in the minority because I didn't like it. I thought the writing was horrible. Tika did a good job with what they gave her. I don't get why Candice has to use sex as a weapon. She's smart and in law school there are plenty of other ways for her to get back at the rich folk. Her character reminded me of Sanaa Lathan's in "The Family That Preys" angry and bitter for no reason.

that looks terrible and i can not wait.
LOL! Agreed. The ONLY reason I'll watch is because of Tika.

LMAO! She is TOTALLY pulling a Givens.
Tika's one of those former soap actors where I revel in her success as a "!@#$%^&*] you" to the shows (and people running them) who didn't think they were valuable.
Me too! I'm glad she realized she was worth more than a throwaway story. She has been working non-stop since leaving.

Good for Tika. We could build an entire show around all the black actresses wasted by daytime.
Word! It makes me smile when I find out black actresses/actors soaps had no use for end up becoming successful in primetime, movies etc.

Just found out that the new Tyler Perry series for OWN TV , Love Thy Neighbour not only features my pal, Jonathan Chase but also former #OLTL actress Tika Sumpter. So can't wait for this show this May. This is gonna be Must-See TV.
Filming begins this week thru April in ATL for a May 29th 2013 debut
Valerie Pettiford (AW, OLTL) also recurs
Main Cast
- Patrice Lovely as Hattie - Mother of Linda and owner of Love's Diner.[4]
- Kendra C. Johnson as Linda - Danny's mother and Hattie's daughter.[5]
- Andre Hall as Danny - Recently divorced from Carmen, Danny finds himself still in love with her.[6]
- Tika Sumpter as Carmen - Danny's ex-wife who left him due to being boring.[7]
- Jonathan Chase as Sam - Best friend to central character Danny, in the midst of a mid-life crisis, he encourages him to get over Carmen.[8]

Just to add Tika has a role in the upcoming Tyler Perry movie A Madea Christmas.
Also, she's going to be a regular on a new BET show with Gabrielle Union called "Being Mary Jane"

I love the U.S. Open.

Balls of Fury - it was decent. The lead guy is pretty funny, but it's one of those movies you can wait until DVD to see.

Boo! I was hoping it was this week.

Agree!!
I thought there would get rid of atleast two more people before the finale, my picks for the last two: Saphyrri and Becky, with Saphyrri winning.
I agree with your picks. I can't wait for the finale.

Larissa went on the radio a few weeks ago and trashed New York and Buckwild. i'm guessing she didn't win. You can tell that monique is just dying to send her loud ass home.
I was dying when Shay punked her on the debate stage; she got all tongue tied.
I can't stand Larissa. I was hoping she would get kicked off but since she was part of the winning team she was safe. She's always ready to fight someone and she obviously hasn't learned anything from Charm School. I was cracking up when Shay made her look stupid during the debate.

Goldie was recently on VH1: Best Week Ever so it leads me to believe she is going to be the winner.... just saying...maybe not though....
Goldie is my favorite and I hope she wins.
I felt bad for Darra. They knew they were wrong for chosing her as the model. Cristal needed to suck it up an be the model as much as she goes on and on about it. It was her time to shine and she dropped the ball. The feathers on her eyes and feet were a hot mess. I'm sorry if I were Darra I wouldn't have agreed to be the model.
I can't wait to see Mo'Nique get on Bootz next week. She's annoying.

I'm rooting for her too!
Me three! Her comments are hilarious. I still crack up at the t** apple comment.
Don't even get me started on Hottie and her hot mess of a weave. The guy Kieth was like "What is that?"

I went to an advanced screeing of Grindhouse.
It had some of the most disgusting scenes I've ever seen on film, but I loved every minute of it!
The trialers they show in between the two moves are hilarious.

Loved Bailey last night.
I hate how this show brings me close to and most of the time tears when I watch. She's so excellent. Kerev even made me smile when he admitted that he didn't stop Izzy either. The writing on this show is SO good.
I wonder how long it's going to take before people figure out that Dr. Burke is still having problems.

Agreed.
Although I could watch Jessica Lange & Angela Bassett read the phone book and eat it up. I LIVE for Fiona and Marie working together.
