Thanks so much @will81!!!!
That letter about Tanner on Days reminds me of how much the show tried to push Brian & Ginger, Molly & Tanner, and Molly’s half brother Hawk Hawkins and ended up tanking the show.
Y&R Sept 2001-I recall this was right at Scott’s tenure as EP was ending, with Nikki gone due to 11th hour contract negotiations as Christopher Douglas replaced as Sean by the actor in this episode due to Alden & Scott feuding.
That said another gorgeous ep and I was glad at the time that Lauren was back on Y&R again.
Cassie was such a wonderful kid to watch.
It's sort of chicken and the egg with PAS, because I honestly don't know if Casey or Danny would have been anything without him. He is one of the most quietly charismatic actors daytime ever had.
Laura tried for a few years as Cassie, but became so cold after a while.
Heinle has never been anything close to what she was at Steffi. My rare viewings of Y&R suggest she has improved from her lows at AMC and a lot of her earlier Y&R run, but that isn't saying a hell of a lot. The only interesting thing about her in the last 20 years has been her offcamera love life.
Even though ATWT was my show I thought GL was a better show in the late 70s and early 80s. GL became real fluff in 1986 and IMO never regained that edge/spark it once had. ATWT became the better soap and was reflected in the ratings. I really can't point a finger as to why GL veered off. I could've been that a quite few of characters were fluff.
