I am SO disappointed with the confrotational scenes between Susan Flannery and Betty White. Lord almighty that felt very off. I am a fan of La Flannery, but I really don't think she was as brilliant as she usually is. Betty White and Alley Mills were exceptional, but Flannery couldn't match them. If Susan Flannery submits this for the emmy, she may be nominated but I doubt a win. Also, SF was good but I do think the writing was limited. Where was that Patrick M guy? He would have brought justice to these scenes. And the music was also wrongly selected. Now say if I compared this to Erika Slezak's abuse storyline, then Slezak had Flannery blown out of the water. I think SF has a difficult time showing vulnerability, whether the writing was to blame or not, but that was not her best yet. I hate to be a downer, but I expected more. Though Betty still has a couple of episodes left so you never know....

can someone tell me? Does she have an actual story. The few times Ive seen her, she doesnt look like she fits in and it was painful watching her. I saw her hanging out with Jill and Katherine in their living room and she looked very out of place. Does she seem to have any direction or is she on the show just bc hte producers like her?

JT needs to shave that scruff off his face, it's very unappealing IMHO.

The best moment of today's show was when Nikki told Jack that she and Victor dontaed a scholarship in honour of John Abbott at GCU.

Jay Kenneth Johnson is from my hometown - we went to the same high school, which is the same high school that Brad Pitt went to - and he came home for a couple of days for the holidays. Well on the front page of my local newspaper this morning was a picture of Jay, and an interview about his return to DAYS. He is really excited about this comeback, mainly bc of Hogan and his vision of the DAYS future.

Anyway here is the link - check it out:

http://news-leader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic.../612300323/1093

Also, check out the "Related Links" underneath his picture - and you can see other stories from the newspaper they've done on Jay throughout his career...including an interview about his first time to Hollywood and being on DAYS back in 2000.

Thoughts, opinions?

EJ is a cold, calculating bastard and James Scott gave a chilling performance today. He has a dangerous, sly charm about his performances that make you want to jump into his arms and make mad, passionate love, yet run away screaming at the same time. His eyes scream 'danger,' while his lips whisper words of seduction. Casting him as EJ was a stroke of genius -- I've been so impressed with the Days casting department over the past 3 - 4 years! My only worry is that EJ will be written into a corner and he won't be able to walk the streets of Salem as a free (or living) man. I have faith that Hogan's creative enough to make him both balls-to-the-wall AND salvageable.

The drama with Lucas and Sami was great, and I was actually impressed with Ali Sweeney's take on 'hysteria' -- she usually falls flat with these types of scenes. Loved the twist at the end with her hopping in the car and there's EJ at the wheel! I'm wondering what'll happen with Lucas, crushed legs and covered in snow.

Tek/Lexie were out of place in the earlier part of the episode, but once they got involved with the drama of the other stories (EJ/John) it all smoothed out.

I was impressed with Brody Hutzler today! I was actually scared for Hope... Patrick's lost his damn mind!

What did everyone else think? The most action-packed episode in a long while! Two gun-toting maniacs, one pregnant lady held hostage, one man (fatally?) wounded, and a man crushed after a cabin roof caves in.

Previews for tomorrow look great!

I didn't see a thread and I understand why. But I decided to start one just force of habit. Today's show was just eh! Great seeing Barbara and Lucinda. But I hate they way they are using Lucinda in the storyline with Lily. Gwen coming clean to Will was so anti-climatic. I wished wished that Paul would stay dead! It would make my year.

On a side note: We are seeing more of Holden and Lily's daughters than Luke. As SOW put on there thumbs down, why are Faith and cant recall other daughters name(thats how much I care for the character ) featured more than Luke. Has Luke gone back into the closet?

Gawd! I hate the writers for doing a 180 with Luke. Lily woke up from her coma and Luke was pushed to the sidelines. Idiot writers!

ATWT's Gwen is making beautiful music this winter, but bringing in Adam to be the spoiler between her and Will so soon after Jade's Summer machinations makes for the same old song and dance. Will and Gwen were one of Oakdales most tortured couples even before they graduated High School. With a track listing that includes a dead baby, dead sister, dead father, alcoholic mother and a murder rap, they could easily win a Country Music Award__ so why add on manufactured, prefab conflict in the form of both Jade and Will's newly returned big bro?

Believing that a smug, swaggering record producer could charm Gwen is no easier than buying Will putting the "ho" in "homeless" with schemer Jade. After Gwen and Will faced the Slasher and emerged stronger than ever, slick NuAdam (Who changed faces faster than Will's other brother Paul changes hairstyles) doesn't even make the cut. For his part, Broadway actor Matt Cavenaugh certainly has the pipes, but like any new character, Adam needs to sing backup before he sings lead.

Worst of all, instead of getting the band back together, Adam's arrival seems to have separated Will and Gwen from pals Casey and Maddie-- and the new lineup of Jade, Adam, Gwen, and Will is anything but four-part harmony.

This is one discordant ditty that definitely needs a new arrangement.

From:

http://www.mybirthchart.com/TarotFaq.aspx

What about the Devil Card?

There is a Devil card (#15) that has to do with possession. Now-a-days that has as much to do with our national obsession with our waist lines and smile lines that show we have a few years on us. If this card shows up in a reading, then that person is "possessed" with an unhealthy desire or expectation. And let's face it, 50 year-olds running around trying to look like they are 20 again are possessed by something.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are there any other scary Tarot cards?

A few. Death (#8), the 3 of Swords, 7 of Cups, and the 10 of Swords come to mind. The "death" of something can be a very good thing. The types of situations where card number 8 may show up could include the end of a tough time, the trading of a dead-end job for something better, or getting out of a heart-wrenching relationship.

The 3 of Swords, which go through a heart, usually show up when someone has been hurt in the past and is still licking their wounds or the person is courting trouble and needs to stop before they get hurt.

The 7 of Cups, which looks spooky with all sorts of things bubbling up, shows up often when there are many choices or offers. It's up to the person asking the question to pick the correct one or walk away.

The 10 of Swords, a guy who isn't going anywhere fast, often shows up when someone feels betrayed or when the odds are stacked against him/her.

My Comment: After reading this, the devil card is clearly appropriate for Steve, but the Death card has no meaning at all in John's case.....or am I overlooking something.

Well I'm loving Tad's interaction with Kathy. I also love that Tad/Jamie joking around - great father/son stuff. Julia with her friend Linda is sad and touching as well.

I also like the Kendall/Annie scenes - and all the Greenlee talk. I think I'm officially an Annie lover. They could be great friends too. Also, I could watch Emma and Ryan all day - they are just so cute. It might be the most contrived thing on the planet, but I love that Ryan is her father - she is TOO cute with him.

The Zach/Bianca scenes are nice too - as I always loved their little relationship....the dialogue is a little repetitive though - but that's just Zach not being able to open up that much.

Too much time is being spent on Josh/Babe today - but I'm liking the Colby/Sean stuff. I REALLY liked how Colby questioned whether what she's doing is right or not. It shows she really cares about doing what is right for her brother - she loves her brother and isn't just being a bratty b!tch to Babe.

Zarf and JR are pretty funny, as JR just doesn't like him you can tell.
