Icon   SteveFrame Thanks to all those behind the scenes at soaps. You finally did it. 6 Weeks..no soaps..this time no looking back..no desire to return.

Topics I've Started

  1. Wesley Eure (first adult Mike Horton on Days) on Sci Fi

    Posted 25 May 2009

Anyone who wants to see the hunky Wesley Eure as he looked when he played Mike HOrton on Days, he is on Sci Fi right now. They are running a marathon of Land of the Lost which he starred in while he played on Days.

    He was such a hunk.

It has been on awhile, but I just now caught it. Not sure how much longer it will be on.
  2. Sex: Something You Should Know

    Posted 10 May 2009

    Right now.........

79,000,000 people are engaged in sex someplace in the world right now.

    58,000,000 are kissing.

37,000,000 are relaxing after having sex.

And 1 person is reading this instead!!!!

    You hang in there, Sunshine!

  3. SoapsWEB's Soap Opera Hall of Fame

    Posted 24 Apr 2009

One of the projects I have intended to do since Day One of SoapsWEB was a Soap Opera Hall of Fame. I just wanted to get some time under the belt and wait until some time after the first Webbie Awards where I introduced 3 annual awards honoring some of the greats in the business. I also wanted to work out in my mind just exactly how to go about doing this. When I was on staff at Daytime Royalty I attempted to do one there - working to get folks involved in the process but it didn't really work out. I eventually lost interest and dropped the project.

The Soap Opera Hall of Fame is a project near and dear to my heart. Why in the world there is not one has really bothered me for a long time. Back in the 1970s, Daytime TV magazine instituted one but it only last 2 or 3 years inducting folks like Mary Stuart and Judith Light. Later Soap Opera Weekly instituted another inducting Eileen Fulton, Susan Lucci and a few others. Both projects failed sadly.

So I have wanted Soaps WEB to definitely do one - the biggest thing for me has been getting the time to do it right and deciding the best way to go about it.

I decided at the first of April that I would launch it this month, and I sat down and decided that there were 5 individuals that had to be there and then I made a list of others that should be there. I started to go with those 5 being the initial inductees, but ultimately decided that the Hall of Fame is something that should have been done years ago and instead of trying to catch up I am going to put the people who I feel should have already been in the Hall of Fame in there this first year.

Two days ago I began doing the tributes and so far have revealed 4 of the inductees: Denise Alexander, Charita Bauer, John Beradino and William J. Bell. There are still more to come. Be sure to watch in the next few weeks for the others to be revealed.

In coming years more inductions will be made as part of The Webbie Awards each Fall.

  4. ALL: SoapsWEB now covering Spoilers

    Posted 23 Mar 2009

My site SoapsWEB is now covering spoilers for all the regularly running US daytime shows. Plus we try to post some for the foreign shows as we get them and for the primetime shows as well.

I post some during the week but most of them go up on Saturday and Sunday. I try to have all the week's spoilers up by late Sunday night or Monday morning at the latest. Right now I am the only one posting them, so please be patient as I search them out and get them posted.

The Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers! forum can be found at:

    http://s15.zetaboard. ../forum/3003918/

While there check out the other parts of the site. We are mostly a history site and try to archive and record the history of the soaps. We don't want to steal members from this or any site, but just as an alternative and to especially to discuss the talk about the history of soaps.
  5. ALL: Celebrating 20 & 30 Years in Soaps in 2009

    Posted 22 Feb 2009

I may have more to add to this list later. It is something I have been working on for SoapsWEB.

Several stars are celebrating some anniversaries this year.

Robin Strasser has now been playing Dorian on and off for 30 years - debuting in 1979.

Peter Bergman is celebrating 30 years in soaps - 20 of them playing Jack Abbott. He debuted as Cliff Warner on AMC in 1979 and then moved to Y&R in 1989.

Jill Larson is celebrating 20 years playing Opal on AMC.

Melody Thomas Scott is celebrating 30 years in daytime - all 30 playing Nikki. She debuted in February 1979.

Cady McClain debuted as Dixie in 1989 and has pretty much been involved with daytime ever since.

Bobbie Eakes is celebrating 20 years in daytime. She debuted on B&B in 1989.

Sharon Case is celebrating 20 years in daytime. She debuted on GH as Dawn (Monica's daughter) in 1989. She left in 1990. Went to ATWT in 1992 to 1993. Then to Y&R in 1994.

Beth Chamberlin debuted as Beth Raines on October 2, 1989. She was off the show for about 6 years - so doesn't have a full 20 years in yet.

I will add others to the list as I discover them. I have not looked at the 1969 ones yet. I don't think there are any current stars who debuted in 1969 still on but I will check it out soon.

I guess performers from here on out need to fill out a form stating all their beliefs. If they don't line up with everyone in America, they don't get to work anymore. Because something they belief in won't agree with someone. Who gets decide which beliefs are okay and which aren't? The dog who barks the loudest.

I agree with James. SON is missing something without you here. Your absence is leaving a huge gaping hole in SON.
