  1. I've been catching up on the show. My random thoughts: The Lexie is Alive storyline is awful and the actress playing Lexie is a cold, brittle, dud. Renee Jones imbued Lexie with a warmth and sparkle to the point that half the audience was rooting for her when she kidnapped Hope's baby, and the other half at least understood why she did it. This storyline was never a good idea, but in the hands of this particular actress, Lexie is just an unlikable bitch. The pub scene with Marlena, Abe, and Lexie highlighted this so harshly as Deidre and James Reynolds were so warm and then you've got Nikki Crawford patting Abe on the arm patronizingly saying she wanted him to focus on their family while she's been dead for 14 years. This storyline is ill conceived and nobody could have made this work...though if Renee Jones had done it, at least we'd feel something for Lexie. But this particular casting choice...whew. Leo is still annoying as hell. I liked the Cat and Rafe scenes. The Xander and Kate sabotaging Johnny storyline is the one with the highest stakes and yet it's the one that's gotten the least attention, and been burning so slowly, that it's like it was an afterthought on the part of the writers, and somewhere along the way a producer noticed how good it is and have pushed it along. That's all down to Paul Telfer and Lauren Koslow. God knows it isn't the writing. The writing for the Chanel medical scenes has been very unfortunate and made me cringe. They went the cliche route of having Chanel quote maternal mortality statistics to the robotic jerk white male doctor. Wouldn't it have been more original for Chanel to express her concerns to the doctor and for him to surprise her by acknowledging her concerns and saying he's got her back? Characterizing doctors as villains really bothers me because 99% of the profession are stellar people, especially those in oncology. The scenes with 'Destiny' were also cringe. Like...isn't it pretty clear she was drug addicted, malingering, and looking for painkillers? Why make Sarah look like an idiot?
  2. Heather Tom was great on Friday, channeling vintage Victoria Newman, boiling over with rage. I just wish she'd slapped Brooke back. The writing for the Forresters in this storyline is so sanctimonious and divorced from reality. Do we think this is intentional? Are they meant to come across as idiotic and unlikable? We literally saw Ridge force Eric into retirement and Eric enthusiastically join Katie, repeatedly thanking her for giving his career a second life. Thorsten Kaye: has he ever been good as Ridge? I'm just not seeing how he's needed for the show at all, other than to give KKL someone to play off against. He mumbles the same lines, wearing shirts too tight for his stomach, over and over again. I'm not claiming Ronn Moss was a thespian, but he was charismatic and at least he was Ridge. I really hope that Remy's roommate ends up being Sheila. She needs to get back on the canvas.
  3. I had had the same error today when trying to access SON on Chrome desktop
  4. ATL Boring episode. Lots of filler. RI Whew! Liz has blown her goodwill with the audience. She came across practically unhinged when confronting Jo Ellen and Alicia.
  5. The irony is season 3 is the only The Royals season to not include Dame Joan. My recollection is she spent most of that shooting period filming a movie with her friend Pauline Collins (aka Shirley Valentine) so was not available to film. She reappears in season 4. The show is worth seeing through to the end, I just wish it got a season 5!
  6. I sure hope it's true. And I sure hope my girl Janet Roach comes roaring back too.
  7. I’ve received the same error many times today. I’ve also been logged out on a desktop I use with Chrome and cannot log in again. It just takes me to the log in page as if I didn’t enter any details.
  8. It's so bad it's good. The new song of the summer. Exactly. Kelsey is a mean girl who pushed and pushed and then Rosie finally exploded. Kelsey has had this coming all season long. Rosie demolished her. Just vaporized her. Kelsey is clearly unaccustomed to someone pushing back.
  9. That was Brooke's reaction? I am so disappointed. No theatrics, no screaming, no thunderous background music...she took it way too well. The child actor who plays Hayes is awful.
  10. Kudos to James Reynolds with the episode around Lexie's back from the dead reveal. He played that very well.
  11. Dame Joan turns 93 on May 23. Here she is today the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. Her film, My Duchess, is screening to potential distributors:
  12. Yet another example of what an intrinsically good person Angela was.
  13. I agree - just kill off Kristen and Leo. Both are albatrosses to the show.
  14. Exactly. B&B has been delivering what the rest of the pack have not been. And it's working. I hope they realize this isn't an accident and keep moving forward with this momentum.
  15. That would be the dream. Natalie was always meant to be Kay Alden's successor and Janice knows the show better than anyone currently writing.
