In Topic: WLS interview with Anna Stuart

Thanks, SFK, that was a fun clip! David Oliver showed more spark there than he did in his entire run on AW. Gorgeous man, horrible actor.
I loved the Anna Stuart interview -- I've been a fan of hers since her days on The Doctors, but she really became a "star" with Donna Love. Very underrated character and very underrated actress, IMO. On a superficial level, I always loved her long hair, and was very disappointed when she cut it off for that short, chic style -- even though that showed off her beautiful face to better effect.
Also good to see Mary Page Keller again. I didn't see as much of that era of AW as I did others, but I always thought Sally-Catlin -- and from the same period, Cass-Kathleen -- were great couples. And again, very underrated. -

I remember those two Russian characters, but I don't remember their story at all. That was such a horrible period for AW. Things did pick up a bit with the introduction of Alma Rudder, though. -

I'm holding out hope that Don Craig returns for Alice's funeral some months from now. Suzanne and Jed Allan had chemistry through the roof. I can still remember a scene they shared after they thought Stefano had killed Mickey. I don't recall the gist of the conversation, but I remember Maggie asking Don something like, "Where does that leave us?" He took her hand and answered, "Right in the middle of a love story."
I actually think it's quite creepy to ask Suzanne to reenact what is obviously a very painful part of her life. I hope she is able to leave the story at the studio. -

She brought such warmth to the role of Alice, and she disproved the "rule" that young people are only interested in seeing other young people on screen. Every viewer of every age loved Alice Horton. She reminded me so much of my own grandmother, who passed away five years ago. My grandma loved Days of our Lives, and she and I would huddle in the corner at family celebrations, hashing out the latest Salem developments. I miss her so much. And I've missed Alice these past few years as she's been on screen. RIP, Frances, you brought a lot of pleasure to a lot of people. -

I just don't get the relentless negativity of some on this board. Why do you prejudge things so harshly before they air? (I'm thinking specifically of this and the Jessica-as-high-schooler story.) I'm a relatively new regular viewer -- started taping the show daily just after Dorian's takeover of BE. So I didn't see the earlier musical, but I'm old enough to remember a few days of vaudeville on DAYS that had nothing to do with current storylines and was cheesy and amateurish and was absolutely wonderful. I like these occasional forays into something different than the soap opera norm. And if it intrigues younger audiences, what's the harm? I just think OLTL is leagues ahead of any other soap on the air right now and I'm willing to put my trust in Ron C. and Frank V. No, I don't like everything they've done, but I didn't like everything Harding LeMay did on Another World, either -- and I consider that the absolute high point of daytime drama.
