Nice to see Mark back indeed :)

I hope this rumor is true for many reasons. And I secretly wish that Marcy Rylan has been cast as Colleen and not Abby Carlton.

Did any of these characters have family onscreen?

    GL:

Claire Ramsey (not counting Michelle), Lesley Ann (can't remember her last name), Jackson Fremont, Suzette Saxon, Kelly Nelson, Warren Andrews?

India adopted a daughter, and frequently talked about her dead father, but considering what an important character she was for a number of years, I'm surprised we never saw any of her family.

I don't think that awful Catilina who was in that awful story with Tony and Marah had any family either.

I think Claire had a brother who visited her at some point. Lesley Ann Monroe didn't have any family.

Dr Sarah McIntyre on GL was around for many years without any family.

Dr Marlena Evans. Her cousin Trista briefly showed up though, as well as her twin Samantha. That's not much in a family show like DAYS.

I was already familiar with Douglas Marland's Guiding Light (and a huge fan) through a German network and I was delighted when a Greek tv station bought newer episodes. As a viewer I "jumped" from 1982 to the Long-Ryder era and I was horrified. All the veterans where gone and nobody ever mentioned them, the tone of the show was different, many parts were recast and "taken to a different direction", there no Reardons, almost no Bauers, Alan Spaulding was gone, Dr Sarah McIntyre was gone, Jennifer Richards and her daughters weren't anywhere and it was all Reva, Lujack, Beth, Kyle Sampson and the Lewis clan. They had managed to ruin a classy show and turned it into something different. That era was really bad and if I were Jeff Ryder I would be avoiding interviews about my work.

People still ask Joan Van Ark about her time as Real!Gloria.

Gloria was better as white trash dressing like Britney Spears' Nan in the trailer park. I knew something was wrong when she started wearing those business suits after she married John. I still say JVA would've done more with the role than Chapman.

JVA's trashy Gloria was an interesting addition to Y&R, whereas JC's Gloria was written as Brenda Dickson's Jill. If John Abbott had to die, Jill should be his widow fighting his children. All of the sudden Jill was busy having lunch with "Mother", while Gloria was Eighties Jill 2.0.
