Very pleased to see B&B taking a hit - I gave it six weeks after Aly's death and except for Raya wedding episodes, it has been so shockingly bad from stories (illogiical 'muuurrrr-dah!' to the ridiculous Ridge/Caroline/Thomas. When I don't are about what happens to even one character on screen and see nothing done pike, I removed from DVR. Let's see how quickly they recover.

Seriously give it a rest. Their material hasn't even aired yet. Its still Ron's mess and who would be thrilled about Jean HW again. No one so forget the crappy buzz bit.

I dont understand what the true purpose was of killing off Aly. Bradley Bell's crappy writing has resurfaced. And the Ridge/Caroline/Thomas story is a complete bore.

Plus that Thorne isn't even part of the aftermath of Aly's death. Ridiculous! It shouldn't be about Steffy/Ivy

Also that they feel the need to rewrite the Caroline/Thomas past history. It's insulting. People don't forget things.

Where are Quinn/Deacon? Thorne? We finally see Katie/Bill after months of barely seeing them. UGH. Plus I have NO doubt people are tired of Brooke the bussybody

B&B had been so strong and mainly consistent these past few years. This summer, post-Aly's death, has been a huge dud. The character balance is way off (Caroline/Ridge/NuThomas, Ivy/Wyatt vs. Liam/Steffy). They seem so determined to focus on a select group of characters, while sidelining others (especially the few above 40 they have).

I hope Bradley Bell returns from summer vacation soon, because they haven't been on their game since mid-July.

Bradley Bell has never had any sort of writing talent if you ask me. It's just that soaps have been so terrible for the last decade that he got a pass when he revamped the show and it paid off in the ratings for a while. However, that sudden good will is slowly eroding and it's back to lackluster nonsense he's always been known for.

B&B is lucky it's a solid #2 in the ratings, has a huge international following, and great production values. That helps set it apart, but it's never been known for any type of quality writing until the past few years when all soaps were terrible and B&B became the best of a bad bunch.

I definitely get what you're saying. Hell, the week after AMC went off the air and I checked out B&B for the first time in a couple years, and I thought "it's a shame the wrong soaps are being cancelled..."  However, I still say their overall quality (both production-wise, and story-wise) has improved in recent years, and maintained a consistent quality up until recently.

It was like a different show the day after Aly died. On top of that, it was like we had missed out on a week's worth of episodes, with Steffy, Ivy, etc. at the police station being questioned about the incident.

Pretty much. He's always been a mediocre/poor writer. Any time he tried to stretch himself, it stunk up the screen. I think he is a decent producer, but writer - no. I think he must have had some help that has slowly moved away in the last few years. People always like to say that the show's problems are because of Brooke, but again that's his writing. And he really can't write for much of anyone. If you make Heather Tom look bad, then you can't write.
