Because while ratings drop it's still not really at the "OMG WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING" level. Ratings drop and rise. It's not as big of a deal as some make it out to be. I want them to drop so Frank and Ron go but it's nowhere near close to happening, IMO.

GH just needs to be watchable during the media-fueled AG exit week. Considering the number of entertainment and news sites that have covered his retirement during the past several months, Even CBS News(!) covered the story. I expect a full press and lots of L&L retrospectives, etc.

Plus most dips happen when viewers reduce the number of days the watch the show, not that they've dropped it completely - so if a 3-day a week viewer cuts to 2 days or 1 day, etc., can make a difference. At the same time, if those viewers get interested again and start watching more, boom. Each show has a large pool of infrequent viewers who hop in and out when they like it. (I'm one of those for B&B - I'm currently on 8 straight months - easily the longest continuous during the past 15 years.)

Because they aren't doing anything about it. It's just not a concern. Why should it be? Have they fallen so far that it's worse than any other soap? I've followed ratings for a very long time now. Primetime shows drop and rise all the time. I know everyone's chomping at the bit but it's going to take more than what's happened IMO for Ron or Frank to get the boot. Frankly I don't think they care to replace them. They'd just axe the show. It will have to get even worse. I just don't see those ratings as any sort of danger zone. Yes it's slightly alarming and they should be waking up and realizing things need to change but it's just not the fall we need to see a change. JMO.

Are they doing anything to fix it? Nope. I agree it's slightly alarming they've fallen for two months but clearly it's not the danger zone we want it to be. I just don't think anyone cares.
