Members NothinButAttitude
You think he would've been able to handle comical characters like Keith, Mason, and Gina? You don't think he would've been good for another P&G soap or a gritty show like Y&R?
Members DRW50
If he wrote for Raven I'm sure he could write for Gina.

Members Khan
I'll say this much: Bill Bell could have used Slesar at Y&R, because I feel like not too many of his mysteries were successful with the audience.
Members Khan
Exactly. I feel like Henry Slesar was the only writer (outside of maybe Peggy O'Shea) who would have understood the Dobsons' darkly and cynically comic vision of their show. And if NBC had hired him after Jerry and Bridget had been forced out, who knows? The show might have been in much finer shape once they had been allowed back in. Members titan1978
I think he could have been pretty fantastic on GH and Days at that time. I also think he would have made an interesting choice for ATWT after Marland's death. It would have certainly helped the show survive his loss and provided a strong voice for the direction of the show.
Members slick jones
That story was as bad as Charlotte Wheaton...Floyd had never remotely been the creepy murderer type(just a little off.) Alicia Rhomer the newswoman over all the other possible killers ....SMH...might as well have been Dr.Louie the recurring guy...
Members Khan
Perhaps. But I also think ATWT, as well as GL and AW, might have been too homespun and traditional for his taste. He wrote for SFT for awhile in the late '70's, and according to several on this board who watched back then, it wasn't a good fit.
Members saynotoursoap
Evan had been engaged to Sandy, but he was also heavily involved with Maggie, too. In fact, he was trying to convince Maggie to leave Salem with him when their car, sabotaged by Alex Marshall, crashed and Evan died in University Hospital. Members saynotoursoap
I agree, Soaplovers. I thought Suzanne and Lane had wonderful chemistry together. Days should have kept Evan around longer than it did.
Members Bright Eyes
I've been owned. I will not pass go. I will not collect $200. I remember glimpses of that car crash episode on WOST. At least it was some car crash episode involving Maggie.
Members ~bl~
Hearing about Sleasar and what happened at Capitol doesn't surprise me...due to who created Capitol. This may be a faulty impression, but it seemed like the Paul Valere thing on GL didn't make much sense. When the story ended as it was, it was pushed off the canvas and on camera was treated like it was ridiculous and good riddance to bad rubbish. With Evan on Days, he believed he was Sarah's father and I thought he died before the audience knew it was Neil...
Members Paul Raven
The audience didn't know Neil was Sarah's father until 10 years later when it was rewritten that way.
