Ive seen numerous interviews with Meg and ATWT comes up. The only one where she didnt complain was inside actors studio and she gave it a thumbs up but the ATWT talk was brief

Robin Wright seems to have mellowed, especially when she was a guest on Chelsea Lately and Handler told her she loved her on Santa Barbara it was her show when she was a teen.

I don't like it when they bad mouth soaps either, but some of them really were too good for the roles they played. Some of them also were given terrible parts. Demi Moore and her GH sister being prime examples (I forgot her name). That was a rough couple of years on GH.

Parker Posey was always complimentary if I remember correctly.

I don't know why, but whenever it comes to actors speaking about their pasts on soap operas, I always feel as if those who are listening to or reading their comments, whether they are soap fans or not, should know about the condition of the show or shows they were working on as a frame of reference. Julianne Moore and Kim Delaney are two, for example, who have said very positive things about working in daytime, but they also benefitted from being on shows that were well-written and -produced during their respective times there. Conversely, while I'd never complain that Morgan Freeman didn't even mention being on AW during an interview ("Electric Company," yes; AW, no), I certainly would not blame him for skipping over his time on a show that was poorly-rated, not entirely well-written (at least not during his tenure) and often treated as a second-class citizen by its network and sponsor.

Robin Wright had two bad experiences during her time on SB that colored her perception of the show (firing her boyfriend and later 1st husband from the show, and being made to stay an extra year on SB in order to do Princess Bride).

I do know the Rue M. was asked about why she left Another World, and she said you didn't leave a soap, you were basically fired so it sounds like she liked workign on AW, but was suddenly fired.

I know Meg Ryan auditioned for ATWT for a journalism assignment and ended up getting the part. She was on David Letterman once and she was talking to his band leader and saying he played at her wedding (and it turned out he was an extra during one of her weddings on ATWT). I do know during When Harry met Sally, she said she played a character on ATWT that was dumber then dirt.. that you could tell her the sky was green and she'd believe it.. or something like that LOL

So I give leeway when a performer downplays their soap roots cause a lot of factors could contribute to how they view it, etc.
