LOL @ the way TK/Zach greeted AJ. Omg I really love the Zach/Miranda relationship. Miranda expressing to Zach he's the only person she could open up to lately. Zach telling her she's getting more and more beautiful and looking like her mother ;'-).

Can't they cast Gabby now though? I mean really.

Good David/Cara scenes. They've been too short.

Dr. Assders is back and Colby threatened & put him in his place, thankfully.

Brooke Newton's killing it again! First off she looks so radiant in this episode It's blinding. The Colby/JR scene at the hospital was fantastic!

Wow they're going about this abortion business at lighting speed. I kind of wish they handled this a little more carefully/slowly (drawn out over 2 or 3 more episodes).

Sal is much better in emotionally charged scenes where she doesn't have to actually speak.

THAT'S RIGHT JESSE, PACK YOUR SH!T UP! Thank GOD he has to resign as Chief of Police to get the charges dropped. I hope he goes into a short depression and gets therapy

That was a nice moment when Jesse was packing his box and flashed back to when he first got the job (that flashback looked horrendous though). Loved how it ended on a close up of his badge and faded into the last Cass scene!

The episode ended with a child trafficking/exploitation PSA from Debbi Morgan. Nice!

Episode 47

The Jesse/David argument is must see

"Yeah well at least I didn't take off for what was it, 20 years? Then marry another woman and have another child w/her, are you kidding me? And then what did you do, you came crawling back w/your crocodile tears telling Angie how much you love her"

LMFAO at Jesse's WEAK response. I had to gif David's reaction:

davidl_zpsa4cad123.gif

"When your baby died, what did you do? Did you tell Angie the truth? HELL NO! You just substituted your baby for another baby and hoped that Angie wouldn't know! WHAT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" laugh.png

OMG -

David: "You're a royal screwup, Hubbard!"

Jesse: "Maybe!"

David: "Your wife is too good a person to call you on your bullsh-t but I'm not"

Jesse: "Oh, please SHUT. UP!!!"

LMAOOOOO

ETA:

Colby flipped a switch and went straight back into bitch mode in this ep. No mention of Cass from her at all. Not even a reflection on what just happened. I think all the Colby/Celia stuff must've been taped beforehand.

I really liked the Billy Clyde/Pete scenes. I feel like there might've been more to Billy Clyde's interest in Pete that hasn't been shown but I'm not sure.

They've hit a homerun with Zach/Miranda. LOVED them shopping together for gala dresses! biggrin.png AMAZING dialogue and interactions between them. I wish they could discuss "Aunt Kendall" some though.

Episode 46

Thank GOD Jessie got fired. I didn't expect him to go to jail but he needed to lose his job as he's been an awful Chief for years, abusing his power and breaking the law.

I used to think Heather looked a bit awkward when the show began but she's looking a lot better now. Her wardrobe is better and I liked her hair and makeup today

The kid playing AJ is looking a bit too tan.

I loved the scene of Angie going to the hospital and embracing Cassandra. She needed that instead of judgment. Im glad that Cassie was able to have that abortion. Wasn't expecting a PSA from Debbi Morgan. It was effective and brought the message home just how real this type of stuff is.

LMAO at that "you dumb bitch" look Colby gave Celia. Visually she was really reminding me of her mother Liza (as played by JL) She needs to change that shirt though. I cant believe she's still wearing that ugly top exposing he bra. I did like the two bonding at Bramwall. I really think they have a good working dynamic as frenemies. I think Colby is taking a liking to her, despite thinking the girl hasn't got a clue and Celia doesn't seem as threatened by her.

Oh god I hate Jesse. He calls David out on previously blackmailing Angie and David responds with "At least I ddint take off for 20 years, marry another woman and have a kid with her?" ZING! (oh and you; leave me alone) Loved him calling Jesse for being a royal screwup and how Angie is too much of a good woman for calling him out on his bullsh-t. (how'd that get pass the censors? LOL)

I thought Dixie was Colby when she first walked into the hospital room. Last week I thought Colby was Dixie. I need to see them side by side bc Im confusing them a first when they are apart.

I really wish the other Hubbards would come for a visit. Frankie, Natalia or yes even Randi would be a welcomed sight to lend Cassie some support. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense that they wouldn't see her. As for Jacob, his absence is inexcusable and I think they should have just killed him off in between the gap if he wasn't going to be used in any capacity.

Thank god Cassie is finally going home.

Adam better come home for this gala. How lame if theres a big event in his mansion and he doesn't even bother to show up.

Is anyone even bothering with More anymore? I used to watch it when there was nothing else that day but ever since they put it up at the same time as the other episodes, I don't even bother

YES! This scene was fab. David owned his ass

I really need for them to bring back Jamie Luner!

Forgot to mention I enjoyed Colby telling Celia about being on the run with her mom & how it shaped who she is today. Liza has been mentioned quite a few times...didn't Ginger Smith say in her latest podcast interview (which i still haven't listened to) that characters who are mentioned a lot in recent episodes will be coming back? biggrin.png

It would've added a tremendous amount of value to the story if Frankie & Natalia were here for it. It really is too bad. I thought Shannon K was working out something with the show but I guess nothing panned out. Damn.

Ep 46

Kudos to the show for the human trafficking PSA at the end. Take a look kids, this is what soaps were like before rape became fun, sexy and hilarious.

I think they said the word "abortion" more times in this one episode than AMC did in their entire last decade. The honesty is a breath of fresh air. I rolled my eyes at Colby claiming she was going to call the board in order to expedite Cass' abortion. In real life that would just lead to some "pro-life" zealot terrorizing Cass, the hospital and threatening to kill any doctor willing to perform the procedure. I'm also glad that the preview of Angie's crying upon learning Cass went through with the procedure was sadness at the thought she went through it alone. I'll be interested to see what her reaction to Colby is because of this.

Loved Cara setting David straight about her "abortion" and basically saying that the two situations were completely different.

Zach told Jesse he loved him again. I love the slow burn between this couple. laugh.png Seriously though, I like that Zach and Jesse are being written as friends but not the same kind of friends as Jesse/Tad. I can't believe that I actually like Zach. Jesse losing his job is an interesting development and one that no doubt would've happened after the Ellie/Lucy stuff if they hadn't been canceled. I truly believe that all this needs to happen in order for him to get some kind of clean slate. They need to break him down to build him up.

Nice glimpse at the JR/Cara/David triangle developing. Good to see JR/Colby be decent to each other.

Miranda's working my nerves. Honey, you can't be the center of AJ's world forever. Eventually you need to let the puppy off the leash.

I'm glad they dialed back Pete/Celia's instalove and are letting them develop more like a real couple. JLP needs to work on her posture and figure out what to do with her hands. I've noticed they're still dressing her like the heroine in an Elvis movie.

Pete and Jane need to have sex.

Its actually been a little better I think since the hiatus- they seem to shoot out of the studio & Leslie is less formal/prominent. I don't rush to watch it but its good background noise for the treadmill or to put on while you're doing errands etc. Some interviews are decent & you occasionally find out an interesting nugget or two of info. And the previews are sometimes decently lengthy at the end.

Can't watch any soaps until Friday but I look forward to checking in for Jesse/Angie comments- seems like its going to be a big week for that. Black Agnes be with this thread.

Episode 46

I'm so glad they let Cassandra have the abortion. At first, when Dr Anders seemed reluctant to give her an OR, I thought maybe they'd have Angie find out she was going in for it and rush over to stop her. I didn't mind Colby going over the top with being a Chandler and demanding Dr Anders get the OR stat. I loved the JR/Colby scene where she apologized for not being there when he was in the coma.

Jesse deserved to finally lose his job, which should've happened years ago when he switched the babies, imo!

I liked the David/Cara scene where she explained the difference between Cassandra's abortion and hers (even though she was lying). It was a great setup for the upcoming triangle when JR interrupted them.

Miranda's jealousy over AJ/Heather gets deeper each time she's with them. I hope this doesn't get dragged out too much longer.

Angie comforting Cass at the end was perfect!

Episode 47

This episode had such a great mixture of drama and comedy, it was absolutely, as Colby would say, "parfait"!

One word for the David/Jesse scenes: EPIC!!! I hope they put this up as a clip on Hulu because I want to watch it over and over again!

Celia had the funniest line in a while when Colby said her parents never put her in a boarding school and Celia responded, "I would've!" I knew Colby was only faking friendship so she could alter Celia's dress size. That said, I did appreciate getting a little more insight into why Colby's so insecure when she mentioned how she had to keep moving around with Liza and could never keep her friends for long. I hope we get more scenes like this explaining exactly when she moved to Paris after the shooting and what happened to her there, too.

I thought Dixie was very effective in her scenes as a therapist with Cass and later with Angie. I did have to wonder if therapists really buy their patient's gifts, though.

It felt like the Pete/Billy Clyde material was cut short to me.

I agree. I watched both last week and today and it was actually enjoyable. It's worth checking out to hear Debbi Morgan's views on the abortion story and the previews for the gala next week.

Does anyone think Agnes Nixon has racist undertones in writing the character of Jesse Hubbard? Black men need better portrayals especially giving the Trayvon Martin story.

Here you have a white man against a black man (David) and putting him in such a negative light making a white man (David) superior to Jesse. Since Jesse came back from the dead, it seems like writers are kicking a black man to the curb, throwing trash on a black man, making a black man inferior and slight racist undertones toward the character of Jesse Hubbard. Black men are so much wanting to be seen in positive lights with success like Bill Cosby on the Cosby show.

Why is Agnes Nixon allowing the writers to be a little racial with the Jesse Hubbard character? Too much negatively. Men of color need alot better.

Jesse was never married to Rebecca so the writers were incorrect and David was incorrect.

Why do writers feel like they always have to trash and tear down black characters, which is not helpful in this Trayvon Martin tension filled climate currently going on right now? Is Agnes Nixon doing a disservice to racial tolerance toward men of color in writing Jesse Hubbard?
