I am not bothered by the pace of the show at all. I had some complaints but after the third episode I think that just comes down to me not liking the format of the second episode so much.

The only thing I am consistently weary of is this Celia story with the mystery man behind the curtain. They've got it set up to where both the audience and the characters have no idea who this "guardian" is. Stories that excite me tend to be of the format where the audience knows something the characters don't. I can even get behind the characters knowing something I don't, like the "what happened that night" plot. I am just not in the mood be yanked along in a story where neither side knows anything about anything. To be clear it is not a slow story, I just don't trust the way it is set up.

Anyway, great episode, really loved Opal deleting Celia's hard work and trying so very covertly to play match maker.

But, see, I have to regard this almost as a brand-new series, because there is (to me) too much about the revival that's new and different to consider it a straightforward continuation.

I am sorta ok with it if it's played slower--but the other stories like Cassandra's (despite my misgivings) and the whole "Who did JR shoot" stories are played fast. But it needs more players---I think, as has been suggested might happen, if it ties into a prostitution ring that involves Celia and Brooke, that would be interesting.

If it's just there's truly been some mysterious "Phantom of the Opera" type man behind Celia I'll be disappointed.

Very uneven episode Wednesday. The best bits were anything to do with David Hayward.

I agree with whoever said they should have followed up with Adam having Brooke sign those papers and the "favor" from Monday. It's probably going to be randomly brought up again in a week or two as some kind of surprise. Also, I thought Adam said he was going out of town on Monday?

Loved David and Angie. Love that Angie spoke for him at the parole board hearing. Also loved Cara's conflict over how she had cut David out of her decision. Great cliffhanger with David asking Cara what she'd done. Maybe David will be more understanding whenever he finds out the truth than she thinks.

Celia story - I still have the same reservations I did before about the mix of tones.

Cassandra story - going from bad to worse. So plot-driven and exploitative "woman in peril," now complete with OTT Russian mobster using the b-word and multiple incidences of violence. Not seeing any social relevance or depth to this "ripped from the headlines" story yet, just the same old soapy threat (even involving Zach's casino again) but with more graphic violence and language.

Hope the lack of writer/director credits isn't going to be a regular thing.
