I'm looking forward to a somewhat full night's sleep. Considering I had to rewatch the episode this afternoon to comment on it, I figure it's no use waking up extra early to watch. Watch me get up anyway, but as of right now, I'm shooting for a 3pm-3:15pm-ish showing.

As for the show, I'm hoping for more connection between the characters and storylines. The #1 thing AMC's premiere lacked that OLTL had in spades was the idea that all of these characters know each other. Our AMC characters do, but you couldn't tell from the premiere.

Does anybody know if they're sticking to the 5 AM Eastern schedule...or are they doing it early like last night?

Agreed, I liked the premier a lot but it did feel very "islanded" in terms of each story being isolated.

I'm watching when they get released around 3am here. I'm always up then anyways. So, why the hell not.

I'm looking forward to seeing Zach away from Kendall and her band of merry makers AKA Greenlee and Ryan.

I think this is going to be good for him and bring a new edge to the character. He had edges before and a ton of potential. But, I hated who his friends were. I'm gonna freaking love seeing him work with Jesse.

I think it'll be 3am EST. AKA Midnight PST.

Don't mark my words on it. But, I am going to check at 3 or a little after.

I'm looking forward to seeing Binx & Miranda's scenes and hopefully more Miranda/AJ!

I want to know who's in the coma. Though I doubt that will be revealed in the second episode. I'm looking forward to Bianca/Miranda & Jesse/Zach.

There is more action in OLTL. Someone said that "AMC's premier felt like the beginning of a new soap in the 70s". Well, on the account that they have to treat it like it is new considering the time jump and that most loose ends were tied at the end they have to treat it like a new soap with familar faces. Also, when was the last awesome soap produced? If you say B&B that one began in 1987!!

I do agree, however. OLTL had a lot of action and AMC really didn't. I know a soap needs time to start but most new people in my age bracket (18-25) wouldn't understand. Not saying OLTL is going to be a failure BTW.

I wonder how much product placement Trojan will get :P  Maybe at least this means more characters will actually enter the current century and have safe sex.

I'm not ready for Day 1 to be over yet! This is bullshit, I need to go to sleep!

Eric, did you properly review both shows yet?

Amen--when they say they'll do less soap cliche stories, this and amnesia would be two I want gone or at least rarely used *gives annoyed glare at GH*

I'll even settle for Miranda saying a simple line to Bianca like "Have you talked to Aunt Kendall or your Mom Erica?" & Bianca being like "Yes, they're doing great."

I'm that thirsty for some Kane info.

No, neither!  I was just about to--it was hard when I first watched them because then wadding through 38+ pages in each forum I felt like most of what I had to say had been said, but I thinbk I still need to do it.

I am not too fussed to find out straight away where all the missing characters are.  I trust we will find out in time--but I know it seems to drive many people crazy.  On the Broadway forum's discussion of the two premiers (which were generally well received) there is still a lot of "But when will we find out where [so and so] is?!?!"  Still, the exposition about it being five years later was already kinda (unavoidably) clunky, we don't need a ton of similar chat about missing characters who have nothing to do with the current stories.

It wasn't really an issue of action for me as much as it was just that idea of connection. AMC had more heavy lifting to do with establishing the characters and where they are and who they are and why they are, so I give my favorite soap a pass on not running on all cylinders from the beginning. It was much like the premiere of a primetime show in that regard. But I'm hoping for more friendships and inter-storyline relationships. Have AJ be delighted to see his cool, bad ass cousin Pete come back to town, have Pete give him some advice on his Miranda feels while being cheeky about the new chick in town he met on the street. Have Angie and Brooke go to brunch or something together so that they can discuss their stories. Bianca/Griffin, Dixie/Opal, etc.

I will say that they need to fill in some age group holes. I'm sure someone may have suggested this months ago, and I probably invited them to have a seat, but now that the show is here, I can see it more clearly. We need a few more established 30somethings to round out the generations. Frankie, Scott, and Madison would be perfect, because then we have Frankie for the Cassandra storyline and also Scott and Madison for the various Chandler happenings. Jamie would not be a bad choice, either. As it stands, we have teens in AJ and Miranda (and their recurring friends/foes), 20somethings in Pete, Cassandra, Celia (even though she's probably 20 at the oldest), and Colby (whenever she appears), 30somethings are JR, Bianca, Cara, Griffin, and presumably Jane -- two characters who are still newish and one who is completely new. Dixie, David, and Zach are probably the only 40somethings (though, thanks to SORAS, Dixie should be theoretically 50something), and the rest fall appropriately in their 50s, 60s, 70s, or 80s (lookin' at you, Dr. Joe!).
