What do you consider the Golden Era for Daytime Serials?

I think the Golden Era was from the inception 1930 to 1999 when passions was introduced. I think the American Daytime Serial ended with passions because no soap has been produced since. I don't even think the 70s is when they hit there "Peak" like some say. In 1970 most shows were 30 minutes while in 1980 most were 60 minutes.

Well?? What do you people think??????

Well, for every individual soap, it's different, but we can find general patterns. As for ABC and Bell soaps, I consider the Golden Age to be the 70's before the addition of "Nouveau Riche" tycoons (Victor Newman, Adam Chandler, Asa Buchanan, The Quartermaines). The Silver Age to be much of the 80's with the adventure stories and such. Bronze Age to be the "Social Issues Age" of the early to mid 90's...lasting till about '97, when we started getting the dreck we have now.
