He is struggling over Tiffany's death and trying to raise a teenaged daughter. Sean, Anna, Frisco, Felicia, Robert, and Mac all team up to infiltriate who Caleb Morley is and what his connection to John McBain actually is. During this time, Sean meets Alexis and the two begin to build a friendship with one another and bond over being single parents raising teenage daughters. Eventually Sean and Alexis start to realize that they have feelings for one another, but her Cassadine family connections may soon interfere.... Holly returns to Port Charles and we find out that somehow she was connected to Robin's disappearance, perhaps also being held captive by Faison. Duke helps Anna uncover Robin's whereabouts and Patrick joins them to rescue Robin. Robin and Patrick are reunited and return to Port Charles, where they take over as co-chiefs of staff at PCH. Even though Emma loves her mommy and has dreamt of her returning to her life, she is having a hard time adjusting to Robin being back in her life and Robinexperiences some jealousy towards Sabrina and her relationship with Emma. Duke and Anna reunite in a HUGE splashy wedding, but her ex-husband David Hayward comes to town to try and cause trouble between the two prior to the nuptials. Anna continues on as police commissioner and Duke stays on at ELQ. Robert is saddened by Duke and Anna's remarriage and had hoped that the 2 of them would reunite and rebuild their family with Robin, Patrick and Emma. Holly sees Robert's saddness and the two of them bond over the directions their lives have taken. Robert heads up a WSB office in Port Charles (intertwine this with the police department), and Holly is taken hostage. A shoot out occurs and Holly is shot. She is rushed to PCH, where Liz, Patrick, and Robin work frantically to save her. It appears as if Holly is in grave condition and as her family keeps a vigil at her bedside, she and Luke reveal to Robert that Ethan is really his son and that they kept this secret for all these years in order to protect Ethan, because they knew the trouble Robert had protecting Anna and Robin all those years. In a gothic, twisted story, Sam would start questioning about her father and Alexis would constantly nix the conversation before Sam can get any further. Constantly noticing that her mother is doing this, Sam enlists the help of John, and the two decide to look into Alexis' past. Valentin comes back to town and takes his shot at bringing down the Spencers but becomes close to Sam in the process. This unnerves Alexis and overtime she begins to have panic attacks, flashing back to the sounds of a young girl begging and pleading. While in a shouting match with Valentin, Valentin tosses Sam's paternity in her face--he is a father! Valentin, her own brother, raped her thus resulting in Sam. In a post-traumatic tizzy, Alexis stabs Valentin and leaves him for dead. Sam finds Valentin and rushes him to the hospital. The last thing he utters before falling into a coma is "Alexis did it." Sam confronts Alexis to get her to confess, and still unnerved, Alexis spills the truth to her. The one thing that Sam wanted know has now become her greatest nightmare. I was a HUGE Sean and Tiffany fan back in the day and would love to see them return together, but if Wyatt is in poor health and I am not sure if anyone would be up for a recast, then what else would you do with her especially if Sean was brought back long term. Now if Sean returned for only a few weeks, then so be it leave Tiffany offscreen but if you choose not to watch because Tiffany is dead that is your perogrative, but I also feel that some interesting storylines could also be brought to the forefront with a grieving Sean.
