I hate to open a can of worms, MissL, but I never understood why they didn't invite JdP back for a cameo during the last weeks of taping OLTL. Wasn't bootleg Janet Wood gone by then?

As for him not coming back at the end of the series (even though his wife was still there and three of his other leading ladies made appearances themselves--four if you count AE as Tina), it's entirely possible that his reputation at ABC Daytime was such that it transcended from JFP up to the end of the show (Frons apparently was the one who wanted him gone in 2003).

All of the GH veterans.
Tristan Rogers in particular doesn't hide his disdain for JFP.

Billy Warlock, Clint Ritchie, James DePaiva, and of course, the woman who got one over on JFP, the late great Beverlee McKinsey.
I want deets lol

Ah, OK. Sometimes I get the timelines mixed up since the clusterfucks that were her stints on OLTL and GH seem to bleed together in a river of shittiness.

Someone else might be able to explain it better, though.

Basically Bev was able to leave GL while JFP was on vacation--and JFP couldn't anything about it, because it was in her contract to give--I think-- eight weeks notice before she left, and it fell around the time that Bev would be going on her own vacation.

If I remember right JDP was asked back for the OLTL finale but turned them down, at least I swear I remember Kassie saying he was asked

JDP himself, however, said in the OLTL tribute magazine that he didn't care quite as much about not being asked back.

Ah, the late great legendary Beverlee McKinsey who stuck to JFP like no other actor ever did. Good times, good times. It never gets old reminiscing over how JFP got her deserved comeuppance hard and publicly if only once.Too this day, it makes me laugh with glee. The interview that Beverlee did explaining the whole story remains a classic and has been posted at SON several times.

This is pretty much the bottom line. If I'm not mistaken, they had 2 weeks to give her an exit. BM royally screwed JFP.
