Worst soap musical acts. This includes characters singing on the show.

That High School musical  crap on OLTL

The Scissor Sisters on Passions

Ana on Y&R

Devon and Noah's duet on Y&R

JT singing on Y&R

Starr singing on GH

PCD on OLTL

I remember always liking Passion's musical acts, even though the Bollywood one was a little annoying. I loved when they did "spellbinding"....I hated when they sang "Suga Suga"

OLTL from what I seen does over do it with their musicals, but at the same time I think it would be fun if Y&R tried something like that (maybe just 1 time)

I used to have to turn the channel when Brady & Chloe would start belting out opera in every damn episode.

Yeah um no to Y&R doing that. I've had enough of their singers. Actually glad JG seemed to scrap the singer part of the character out Adriana and scrapped that singing bs with Noah and Devon.

I know this is going to shock some folks but...I got so, so, SO tired of Evangeline singing on OLTL. I love REG and I enjoy her voice but I got sick of the show coming up with one lame reason after another to have her sing just to fulfill her guarantees. It was out of place and forced in most cases. The only time it felt organic to me was when Vange sang at Marcie and Michael's wedding. Part of me is glad they avoided that trap with Tika Sumpter/Layla although that at least that would've shown a desire to treat the actress and character like she mattered.

Another example of bad music on OLTL: Blair/KDP. I'm going to be nice and leave it at that.

But when it comes to bad soap music, I'm going to let Joel McHale say it...

Lisa on ATWT was pretty bad, imo. Still, I always loved EF.

That Colby crap was after I quit watching.Seriously that was awful.

Oh and I remembered I hated the singing at Spixie's non wedding. All those non singers and non dancers was painful. If I wanted to see karaoke I would go to a karaoke bar.

I also didn't like when Johnny was a singing mobster.

Angelina on Y&R with them switching over from bad singing to good singing was also painful.

How could I forget Blair? KDP needed to put down the mike!

I appreciated Star Cross Lovers because some good characters (i.e. Langston, Markko, and Destiny) emerged from it but I couldn't take that syrupy sweet crapfest. Should've been a one maybe two day thing. And Ana singing on Y&R...... -____-

Any time Karen sang on Knots Landing. The mother/daughter singalong with Diana left me in a fetal position.

I didn't have a real problem with her singing but this is one of my favorite Youtube titles ever.

I remember once on Passions a mobstress was holding her hostage and Theresa burst into a long ballad about her love for Ethan.

I was never much of a fan of any of the musical people trotted in and out of GH in the late 90s. How I loved seeing Tony Geary forced to pretend that Luke was a huge, huge fan of Shedaisy.

I have to add Eddie Maine on GH. I disliked the forced growl Wally Kurth tried to use to show how edgy "Eddie" was. I thought his voice was hard on the ears.

Then there was this [!@#$%^&*]

Jessica Buchanan sings.

There are worse singers than Erin Torpey, no doubt (and she actually knew her range, unlike some on this show...), but it made zero sense for Jessica to become a singer, other than Torpey might have asked for it. This was the early stages of the show essentially giving up on any characterization for Jessica, which would continue for over a decade.

WORD.  I truly don't understand EF having successful cabaret acts....it sounds like she's gargled with glass shards for years.

And let me add Martha Byrne. GAWD, I grew to hate "You Can't Make Me Love You".

Double Ditto on KDP. I'd forgotten how twangy she was on GL until I heard her on OLTL.

This is another example of what I was saying about REG/Evangeline. I adored Erin Torpey, liked her voice and that song is actually a favorite of mine but you are 100% right about the fact that there was no reason for that scene.

That just reminds me of how wrong things had to go in order for Jessica to become the useless waste she turned into. There's no excuse for what happened to that character. None at all.

Martha sang that about 50 times. I never could take it.

I think Eileen probably suited some songs but I'm not sure she ever sang them on ATWT. It's nice that ATWT let her sing in her 50th anniversary episode, but the whole thing was so depressing.

Honorable mention to Lauren on Y&R when they forgot to give her songs for her thin range.

(Not a big Danny fan either, although I did enjoy his "Obsession" duet with Lauren)

I hadn't seen that Colby/Asher scene before.

Now that I have, can I take back every time I defended Julie Hanan Carruthers over the years?
