Soap Opera Parodies

I searched the board to see if this topic had been done and didn't see anything, so I decided to start it. Soap operas have been parodied a lot in the past in sitcoms and movies, some parodies being better than others. These are ones that I like.

The Jeffersons: As Florence Turns was a Dallas parody episode and it was hilarious.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: As Will Turns was an episode where Will worked on a soap opera. LeAnn Hunley played a soap actress.

Mr. Mom: Michael Keaton's character has a soap opera dream. If I'm not mistaken, there is a brief glimpse of Victor and Nikki from the Young and the Restless on the television screen at one point.

Everybody hates Chris had epis about Y&R before.

I remember the one where Julius was at home watching Y&R with the neighborhood ladies and before they went to commercial break they did this bumper similar to the old Y&R one.

Hot in Cleveland had an epi where Victoria tried to revive her old soap opera as an app and those showed them filming the most ridiculous scenes. The hot latino gardener had become fat since the show. The dumb eye candy vixen would hide her scripts in the furniture and look down sometimes during scenes to read lines.

on See Dad Run the mother is a soap star and on the Christmas epi she was at work filming additional scenes on Christmas Eve and she had to keep doing takes of an overly dramatic scene because the director wanted to take up their time.

I loved the soap opera parody on Twin Peaks (which was in itself kinda meta, given that Peaks was kinda a soap parody on some levels anyway) Invitation to Love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiItVFyA-iI

I was mixed on Nurse Betty as a film--but I admit I kinda loved the soap Betty is obsessed with--A Reason to Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEJOmOCCquE&list=UUo5gpDT4qtqpdY0wnEjbgsw&index=10

Soap was brilliant (at least at first)--I liked it more than Harris' later creation Golden Girls, as much as that means I should turn in my gay card. And of course there was Mary Hartman which was rerun here in Canada in the late 90s (I always wanted to see All That Glitters which was by the same team).

2DTV did great animated ones for EastEnders in the early 00's:
