December 13, 201213 yr Member I can't wait to see GH ratings. I'm loving the stories on GH! Edited December 14, 201213 yr by starwatcher21
December 14, 201213 yr Author Administrator Were there pre-emptions somewhere to cause the big drops?
December 14, 201213 yr Member I don't think so. Wow. What does Days have to do to raise those ratings? In defense of Days, though, it seems like all the soaps were bad ratings-wise this week.
December 14, 201213 yr Author Administrator There must've been some pre-emptions somewhere. Soaps just don't lose that much without any reason. All the soaps will likely go up next week due to the big losses this week.
December 14, 201213 yr Member There must've been some pre-emptions somewhere. Agreed but where and for what? I can't recall any weather or big news event and it would've had to be something fairly big to drop numbers across the board, right? Is it possible we're just seeing post-sweeps crash? December 14, 201213 yr Member Either that or more people took off the week after Thanksgiving, and everyone went back to work.
December 14, 201213 yr Member Re: Y&R - Sha-DAM! That's my interpretation of the fallen ratings. YR needs to go down for even thinking of re-visiting that vile trash, Sham! I'm hoping Jill are only putting them back together to show how nasty and sick they really are. I don't even watch, but I'm still hoping because this pairing is truly disturbing. I was once a Sharon fan. Now, I'd just like her buried alive!

All the soaps will likely go up next week due to the big losses this week. I don't think that's the problem. And the dailies didn't trend similarly as is normally the case when there are preemptions or outside influences. GH peaked early in the week and dipped as the week continued. The other soaps had stable viewership through the week. Edited December 15, 201213 yr by rhinohide

December 16, 201213 yr Member My working theory is that we're coming off a sweeps bump. I think that ratings the week before were buoyed a little bit by people extending their holidays but now folks are just checking out. I'm not married to that theory but when we see bumps /drops across the board, I always assume the reason is external and I can't think of another one.
