I do think more people are tuning in to the shows, so if that's what a resurgence is then yes. The threat of cancellation has really helped some of these shows get their acts together and tell stories that will have fans tuning in. They've also learned that diversity is key to success. Whether it be black, latino or gay, you can't continue to tell stories about pasty white people.

If soaps were cable stations, it's like the family of viewers got their cable cut off and now they only have the big four to watch. I'm sure plenty of people have stopped watching altogether, but others couldn't drop the habit and set their focuses on what's left.

With the exception of HBS on B&B, have B&B and DOOL picked up any other AMC or OLTL cast members post their cancellations?

Writing be damned, but GH now has a contract black male character who is gay, DAYS has two gays (and a baby, lol), Y&R has more black model types and B&B just hired some black GL stars and has a lesbian pairing. That's better diversity than a year ago.

GG is only still here because DAYS keeps getting people who used to work production for Passions on his team but no one cares about the Hernandez family. It sure didn't benefit them around the time when they were trying to turn DAYS into Passions. Brady's just a non factor and a little bit of a different case because he came on playing a recast of a character.

Ah so we should just ignore that the writing is no better than last year.
