Well here we are once again. Gary and Chris are back as head writers. What can we expect? This is the third head wirter for the Gay Will story.

I would say Marlena, John, and Lucas would all be potentially leaving.

Tomlin's OLTL was very campy but I don't think his DAYS was.

Mostly it would be nice to see actual storylines, and sympathetic characters. I think one of the reasons the Will story was a ratings bust was his being unlikeable throughout.

All that money gone to waste. I really enjoy Lucas and Marlena. John he can go. I do know his OLTL run was very campy. Did he write that? I thought he wwas EP and Dena was his HW. Didint Whitesell work with GT at OLTL as well?

After 26 years of near-continuous viewership, this may be the final straw for me.

If certain actors/actresses check out of Salem later this year, I just might let the hourglass run out.

Whitesell and Lorraine Broderick were headwriters at OLTL when Tomlin was producing. Dena was, I believe, at DAYS during this time.

The problem with Wills story is that it's just been a bunch of random scenes they have dragged together. Sure there have been some nice scenes with Marlena and some snark with EJ but overall it's not been well done. There have been so many beats and characters missing particularly Wills friends and Gabi. And Sonny was actually being written for prior to the writing change so maybe Tomlin and Whitesell will actually start writing for his character again.

I admit I wouldn't miss Marlena or John or Jennifer or even Jack at this point. They do need some cast purging.

I am now ready for Belle and Shawn But Chloe hell no. I don't get it with her. I do enjoy this Carrie/Nicole/Austin/Sami/Lucas/EJ mess. I am sick of EJ he needs to go!!!

Yet again. This show hasnt been right since JER in 97 and maybe even before that. Days is still duffering from the post JER pen. Days has lost it's idenity. This is no one's fault but Ken Corday. Know your show.

I think Marlena has been written well this time around, but I think the others could go (although I like Matt Ashford's work since his return).

The Will story at times seemed to be about everything but his being gay. That was an afterthought. Someone had the clever idea of saying "hey, Sami/EJ are John/Marlena, and let's repeat history with Will as Sami" only for the story to not resemble that one in any way. I think they lost a lot of momentum with that writing choice.

I would get rid of Daniel, Jennifer, John, Madison, Carrie (unless they have real plans for her), Austin, Abe, Roman, just for starters.

the only good thing is he's writing not EP Greg has done a great job with the show we have nice sets, and cups being filled with fluid rather than Tomlins empty cups, purple cheap sets and 1000000 watt light bulbs...Corday wont be stupid to fire Deidre Hall for a second time. i am worried for Carrie and Austin unless he kills Austin off im all for that....i have a feeling they will be doing something major for the 2 week cliffhanger in July.....as long as Rafe/Melanie/Daniel/Maggie arnt front and center again im good

However, the BIG problem with DAYS is that they continue to write for characters who are simply exhausted, for lack of a better word, when it comes to story options. There's just so little about the show that I'd call still usable.

Days truly needs a real reboot. Their will be damn nere no black folks in Salem. Age Theo and bring back Jonah or create e enw family. What ever happend to that black nurse who worked at the hospital I forget her name. The should do somethign with her.

Carl I agree with your cuts. Though I really do enjoy seeing Carrie as Opposed to Chloe or Melanie. And I too have loved MA this go round. Jennifer, i wish she get some base in her vocie. Roman for sure. Why is he even there. Go get some tissue man. Daniel is cool. Madison she should give some her bass in her vocie to Madison.

Tomlin is back!!! Damn it!!!! Well at least he didn't jump to GH, lord knows they don't need anymore soap hacks heading over there will the Passanante rumors floating around. But damn this is not good news.

The show has been some strange hydra of supercouples/Reilly gothic adventure and camp/the "new" stuff which mostly focused on Sami and her men along with Melanie/Daniel.

I do agree about Carrie - I think Christie Clark has shown real promise in her return. But the Rafe story hasn't worked for me. I would say maybe keep her and bring back Anna, or Mike. Just as I'd say keep Jack, to have story with Adrienne and Sonny and Justin and Abby. You wouldn't need Jennifer around.
