So in 2011 we finally got rid of Bob Guza and Dena Higley. I hope in 2012 we finally get rid of Hogan Sheffer and Scott Hamner!

DAYS

- Karen Wilkens first listed as Director on January 3

She showed up earlier than I expected - thought she would start directing after Lisa became the new EP. Nice to see one of my Passions directors again. :)

I'm reminded of Alice Faye's old quote that all she was waiting for was to see Darryl Zanuck washed up in the business.

I've been waiting ten years for Sheffer to move on from a genre he seems to hate...it never happens. I guess the genre will have to die first.

Maria Arena Bell was not awful in the beginning. During the writers strike I thought she did a pretty good job with Josh Griffith. I think a lot of the crap we are seeing is attributed to Hogan Sheffer and most especially Scott Hamner. I think Scott Hamner sucks. He was awful at Port Charles and is even worse at Y&R.

There's some article out which goes on about MAB saving a museum and how this is the legacy that has to last, and so on. I think this is what matters to her, and she sees soaps as a paycheck, as garbage. Sheffer and Hamner seem to feel the same way. This show is their dumping ground.

The show was snoozeworthy when MAR first joined. It only seemed better in relation to what we'd been seeing. The stuff with Sabrina was the absolute worst and honestly, the show only improved and has shown moments of coherence and greatness after Sheffer and Hammer were brought on. Granted the show overall is a mess and all three need to go, but it's hard to attribute everything bad to the men when the show was dreadful when SHE was in charge alone.

The show was dull at that time but certainly nowhere near as horrible as it has been ever since. As soon as Sheffer arrived, the show began zeroing in on slaughter and assaults against pregnant women and writing women as whores. This got a ratings boost, and fawning from the soap press, but it gutted anything left of the show.

I used to be a fan of his until the mid 2000's. Now I dislike him more than I like him, probably 80/20.

I just don't think she will go and it's easier to fire the two Co-HWs.

Yeah, probably. Unless Marlene and Darrell get fired at DAYS.
