Despite ABC Daytime's best attempts to mismanage the situation, SOAPnet will continue to live on thanks to a number cable and satellite providers across the country come January. The same can't be said for the network's website however as top brass have already begun implementing measures to power down certain areas of the site. Beginning Monday, May 23, SOAPnet.com will be officially shutting down their message boards for fans wishing to discuss "General Hospital" and recently canceled sister soaps "All My Children" and "One Life to Live."

Sad last days over at the SN boards, but someone created a new board called "Booted from SOAPnet" and like 400 people joined in one day B) lol!! No one wants to post on those basic ABC.com boards they say to transfer to, where I can't even begin to describe how much I loathe...

"Tells Fans to Take a Hike?"

That really, basically is how they put it. LOL.

The SoapNet boards and comment sections were a hot mess so no great loss but that sucks for the people that use them. And with such short notice!

I saw how they put it. My comment concerns the recent changes I see in SON's editorial goals and tactics. I'm disappointed but admittedly I'm not the target audience so whatever.

Glad that I am not alone in this one. I too am disappointed. I expected more from SON than this tabloid approach, but whatever...

I love Tabloid headlines, they are fun and take creativity. A classic:

Just like the shows have to decide how they want to go out so do the people and businesses the built up around them. The mags and boards need to decide whether they want to go out with dignity or desperation. After all, there are still four shows left. At least pretend to care about them even though they aren't OLTL.

ETA: AllMyDays I hope you don't mind if I steal your signature image. If the world ends tomorrow, I want to go out representing my Hubbards.
