The shootings were on Thursday. Was there further coverage the next day? Perhaps people tuned into the news channels instead? Just guessing.
Wow look at OLTL. Not a great way to begin sweeps.

I'm not sure if any of the soaps are in a great position for sweeps, especially on ABC. AMC seems to be going back down and GH should have done much better for two of the most pivotal weeks of the entire year (JJ's return, Claudia being exposed).
OLTL has some great moments but the overall show, especially the tone, can be offputting, and so is the method of storytelling and pacing and the way the lead characters are portrayed. I guess one could argue about which story does or does not bring in the ratings, but I don't know if any of that would make a difference. I just wish they hadn't botched their main stories so badly at the start of this year, because I think that turned a lot of viewers away and halted the momentum they had built up again.
I do hope the ratings go up, as I'd like to see it stay on the air and continue a few of the stories I am enjoying (Mitch's return, and Kyle/Fish Cris/Layla, even though I know a lot of people don't like that story, especially given the days of the 1.8 ratings).

Frons was implying the show would be canceled even when their numbers were higher than GH or AMC. I wouldn't look at the current ratings for that. If it happens it's going to happen no matter what.

Yeah I agree, but I want it at a 2.2 so it can get renewed. I think that was the magic number it might be lower now. If ATWT keeps going up in November sweeps then it might get renewed with whatever number it has. If that's really true I think it might be cause Lynn Herring ex Audrey Coleman said they need people to tune in for November sweeps.

I wish the show would SLOW DOWN and play some emotional beats. RC drives plot at the expense of character. It's a very hard show to track. Plus, could some of the actors on this show take some acting lessons: Rex, Gigi for starters. Yawn.

I believe 2.1 was the magic number. Funny thing is if ATWT gets cancelled it will probably hit a 2.2 or higher the last week of airing. If ATWT brings in the good stories ATWT could easily be in the 2's.

A big word!! Yet soaps in general keep hiring awful actors like JPL and FF.

I thought it was 2.2 maybe they keep changing it or something. AMC brings in alot of viewers for very stupid storylines. I think this will be another good week for ATWT, I hope so

Y&R and B&B aired at 2 AM and 3 AM respectively, which meant they did not get counted in the ratings tally. DAYS was also preempted in NY for the parade and aired at 3 AM, and Friday's show also showed a slight dip. Not sure if ABC preempted AMC or not that day.

OLTL and ATWT will get their pink slips within 18 months. I promise you that. Don't know which one will go first.
Y&R is so boring right now
Why do you have to be like that. I guess you don't care about people losing there jobs. I hope you get your pink slip too.

Some perspective please? These are TV shows, not economic development initiatives. TV shows get canceled all the time. The entertainment industry is risky by its very nature. If the people involved wanted job security, they'd have become insurance actuaries.

So because I am stating the obvious, OLTL and ATWT will be done in less than two years, I dont care? I am jobless as is my mother. It's hard times out here. Of course I care.

Ask Brian Frons if he cares! he's the one who is ruining OLTL over at ABC. Can't speak for ATWT
