I thought DAYS would fall too....but they actually gained a few thousand! Not only that but 4/5 days were above 3 million! Very impressive.
Great week for soaps in total viewers - all soaps went up.
Huge week for Y&R! Up to 5.3 million. Monday's holiday was big for Y&R and B&B. Y&R got 5.8 million and B&B got 3.8 million. The potential viewers for Y&R are still out there.

Even though I loathe GH right now I hope they get up

DAMN, whenever Y&R goes up, B&B goes up. I want DAYS to be at #2 so desperately, well when Eric leaves Y&R, the ratings will go down.

Wow, then I'm shocked! 4/5 of 3M is great news for Days. Completely forgot about the holiday, too. 5.8 million for Y&R on Monday is crazy good. Maybe we'll be seeing some good ratings this winter.

While I understand (and agree) with what you're saying, I don't know if Columbus Day would be a good example, since a lot of people are at work/school on that day. It is not one of the big holidays like Memorial, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's. A spike in the ratings for one of those holidays might be a better argument. But other than that, ITA.

But that's what I mean. If the viewership rises significantly on what is essentially a bank holiday then I think it's fair to assume it would at least remain steady on many of the other holidays. Not Thanksgiving or Christmas but definitely Labor Day and New Year's.
