(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — According to the Soap Whisperer, a new addition to the Soap Opera Network family, we can confirm that actor John Brotherton has been let go by ABC's "One Life to Live" in the role of Jared Banks after two years on the soap.

Brotherton joined the cast in August 2007 and has since enjoyed a dysfunctional relationship with Natalie Buchanan (portrayed by Melissa Archer). The two were married in May 2009 in a private ceremony. Brotherton is expected to air into the fall.

Prior to joining the "One Life" cast, the actor appeared in an episode of the cancelled CW television series "The Game" in 2006.

In 2009, he will have appeared in three films including "Gone," "Surprise, Surprise" and "Taken by Force." He starred in, directed, wrote and produced the 2007 short "Smith and Mike on a Tuesday."

"One Life to Live" airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.

I thought Jared had potential too - he could be both the hero and the sneaky bad guy at the same time. It was JB who was kinda bad at acting.

I thought John had some great moments, and some not so great, but I fell in love with his portrayal. This has ruined my day.

LOL! You are being too kind. JB sucked at acting. He was horrific, especially in dramatic scenes. That is no reason to fire him. OLTL is chock full of bad actors. That show has the worse casting director.

Man, [!@#$%^&*] One Life! Jared was awesome, and Jared/Natalie was one of my favorite couples on the show! Jess/Brody aren't gonna have friends now, unless they force them in with the Gigi/Rex abyss of screaming of suckage.

I'm not even a Gina Tognoni fan, so this really pisses me off.

In yesterday's ep, I was disappointed to see John getting stalking case because it threw John back in Natalie's orbit.......I guess now we know why?

That's what I'm worried about, what happens to Charlie/BK. It's like it could be a double edge sword, it would/will give BK some fantastic material, but then it might be the end of Charlie. I'm upset that they are breaking apart one of my favorite couples, Jared/Natalie, hope it doesn't happen to Viki/Charlie as well. That would just totally suck.
