I would hardly call Ross a former leading man. More of a short term supporting character who most forgot about

That's what I've been thinking, which isn't bad--this is just a terrible way to introduce the idea.

Not to mention Todd has too many children.

^ I disagree. Todd only has three kids. One more won't hurt him. Viki had five.

I think Viki's relationships with her children were interesting. Todd's relationships with his children are all about how much he can hurt them. Then when the show suddenly wants people to remember what a hero Todd is supposed to be, the kids go back to adoring him.

This is probably more about establishing Tea in Todd's life, since, for all the endless propping by Viki, Todd still sees her as little more than a side woman, or an easy lay.

Shawn Cristian has always bored me, even in his supposed heyday at ATWT, so I can imagine this recast will be an improvement.

Don't they send out casting calls for day player roles? I have a funny feeling this guy is just a plot point and won't be around for long.

I agree that Ross (the island guy) was never a major character, nor anything to write home about... but I do appreciate when the show utilized history, sometime even more when it's obscure history, to catapult a current storyline. So I'm good with it...

By the way, isn't "Ross" already (re)cast?
