I don't know if anyone has the answer to these but:
Are these numbers included in the weekly ratings?
If not, then why are they not included?
Lastly, if these numbers are not included, what type of impact or difference would it have on the ratings for these shows if they were included?
No they are not included in the weekly ratings. What Nielsen reports is what airs only on ABC in the weekly ratings.
When advertisers look at the ratings to advertise on a show they are not buying air time on both SoapNet and ABC, they are usually buying it for one or the other.
So Nielse reports the ABC live airing ratings in the weekly ratings and then they issue a separate rating for the SoapNet airings.
Plus it would be highly unfair for them to be reported in the weekly ratings since not all the daytime shows are aired on SoapNet.
It is just like the Primetime shows like SVU and others that have separate airings later in the week or even on other channels like USA, those are not included in the weekly ratings.
Those are separate airings and get their own rating.
I know that so many fans won't to see combined ratings because they think it will look better for their show. But in the end that is all it would mean - it looks better. They aren't going to get any extra money for it. It doesn't mean a bigger budget or anything like that. I just looks better for fans.
