Wow, Alicia Minshew. I never thought the girl would get a nom. I'm not a fan, but congratulations to her for her perseverance.

I'm thrilled AMC got nominated! Imo, the show deserves it for the improvements Pratt has made.

I'm also happy for Alicia, Vincent Irizarry and most of all Debbi Morgan!!!!

Am I reading these correctly?! Maybe it's just me, but these nominations actually look GOOD!!! Diverse! Not the same old sh!t. No GH for 'Best Drama'?! Whaaaa?! Awesome! Congrats to DOOL! I'm not a huge fan, but I think it's awesome they're being shown some love! Melissa Claire Egan! Oh, yessssssss!!!!!!!!!! Totally deserved! Good for AMC! The past 4 years or so the show was basically ignored---which it actually deserved with the crap from "the writer" and B&E. Pratt taking over was definitely an improvement.
These nominations are exciting! I'm SOOO tuning in!

I agree Pine Charles and probably because I'm biased towards All My Children. But they've got a great shot of taking the top prize.

WOW - I love all the AMC noms! They totally deserve it from last year --- and they may have a shot with no Y&R and GH in the top category!

Major congrats to Debbi Morgan and Melissa Claire Egan - my faves!!!

I'm a little surprised that Thorsten Kaye and Alicia were nominated, but kudos to them too!

I don't think we've seen AMC double-nominated in 2+ categories like this in a long time! YAY!

Wow is the most nominations ABC has gotten in YEARS?

Funny that OLTL gets most of the praise but it barely got any noms.

Congrats to TK and AM, they had great material in the ONS reveal and TK was amazing in the Myrtle Memorial episode

B&B deserves Best Drama this year for the stuff surrounding Storm's death.

It didn't have a flashy plane crash like DAYS or a ridiculous tornado like AMC, so it gets my backing by default.

But generally, I didn't care much for 2008 in soaps, so I always knew year after year this nominations would be ridiculous.

So happy for TAMS!, Days and AMC. Seriously Today Show? You're going to show pictures of Ellen/The View but no images of the Soaps and their actors? Um hello, soap fans are the ones giving a [!@#$%^&*] about the Daytime Emmys.

Still excited - the list looks diverse.

Debbi, Cornelius and MCE are so deserving of their nods!

I'm really psyched that there are a bunch of peeps on here that I would actively root to win, as opposed to some of the "meh" nominations of the recent past (Natalia Livingston winning an Emmy was the beginning of the end).

I have to say, though. As a Y&R viewer, Christian LeBlanc? Again? Really?

And I LOVE Susan Flannery and could watch her read the phone book, but really? Another nomination? She's already got a gazillion Emmys but hasn't had the material in about 5 years.

Julie Berman? No. PLEASE no. Please let that be my eyes playing tricks on me! An Emmy for making my eardrums bleed?

Once again, MTS, Jess Walton and KKL sadly overlooked.

And yay for Days! GL isn't as widely nominated as last year, I noticed. GH, too (apart from Tony Geary, that ShrewLu catastrophe and Kristen Storms).

Julie... man.. i cant believe im about to defend her but... IMHO, i feel Julie plays Lulu just how shes written, bot exactly how GH thinks tho. I think they think Lulu is the complex heroine but Julie sees whats written and plays bratty and annoying bitch, lol. I like to think shes in on the joke, because i like her personally. Thats aid, she does have some decent stuff to put in, like logans murder and seeing laura.

Kirsten deserves it, that means she wont get it.

Oh NO you din't! You did NOT just defend the most annoying actress in Daytime. laugh.gif

I'm sorry, I honestly try to look past the writing for a character but with JMB I cannot get past the shreiking and rat-a-tat-tating out her lines at 200 mph. Lulu is so unpleasant. And she's pimped like a hero.

And Logan's death? Oh, you mean when Tex sat around a darkened room holding a flashlight under his chin? laugh.gif

Kristen deserved it last year for Georgie's death & funeral. She really came into her own.

Nice to see Cornelius get acknowledged too, but Bryton again..... seriously? For chastising? Like what else does the character of Devon do.
