She was just back this week. In what universe. Maybe she didn't speak until this week, but she was on almost everyday last week and a whole story was about her.

And if we want to start pointing fingers at someone being the reason ratings are up then we have to look at the declining ratings for the last almost 2 years when someone was on almost everyday.

The way AMC treats the character of Bianca and the way Eden treats AMC like a revolving door make me not like either one of them very much.

I don't blame Eden at all. She has a pretty sweet gig. Come in, work a few months, make some change, and then have the majority of the time off to pursue other things? Heck, I'd do it too.

Word. I don't know why people throw so much hate her way. The woman is just working her business. I really think these short term contract gigs are going to become the norm more and more and not just for returns. Shows need to save money and they can do that by keeping a smaller core cast with all those vets people love so much and bringing people in on short-term story dependent contracts.

For me it is not hate. All it is with this is that Bianca's stories esp. the last 2 should have been long term stories to tell them right and it couldn't be done with an actress that won't commit to longer. It is a sweet deal for Eden and I don't blame her for taking advantage of it.

I just wish that TPTB at AMC would take a chance and not think that she can't be recast. I feel they think her fan base is large enough that a recast won't be accepted.

With the move in the last few years to make Erica and her brood center Bianca is needed and if Eden won't stay long term then replace her. That is not offense to Eden but I am thinking of what is best for the show. And I think Bianca is needed because she is a good counterbalance to Erica and Kendall plus even with her flaws she is unlike most of the other female characters on the show who are all reformed bitches who have no trouble falling back into bitch mode whenever they feel like it.

Recasting Bianca is a good idea. The character is important because she is Erica's daughter and should be on the canvas long term. I'm not sure that AMC is willing to deal with Bianca's sexuality on a daily basis.

I think THAT's the real problem. I love Eden. I've always come and gone with her. Once she's gone I'll go back to watching the Hubbards in clips. But I think the real reason Binks isn't on the canvas isn't Eden it's because they really don't know what to do with her since they can't/won't treat her like any other character on the show. Until they commit to the character, it doesn't matter who plays her.

I agree. I think they would almost prefer to not have Bianca on the show full time, because they would have to figure out what to do about her love life. I think if they did have her return, they would probably have her decide she's bisexual. I don't know if I can see Pratt being able to resist a Bianca/Zach/Kendall triangle.

I've never really thought of it from that perspective but I think you hit the nail on the head.

It's not so much that AMC is at Eden's mercy or that she's using poor AMC. AMC is also using her, they clearly don't want to write a thorough lesbian storyline, but they've put themself in a corner that they can't get out of with her, and so this revolving door relationship they have works for both sides. Works for both sides unless Eden has an issue with the writing that overlaps her enjoyment of the paycheck.

I think next week's ratings should be interesting as this was kind of a weird week for soaps with the huge pre-emptions last week. Everything is guaranteed to go up after a bad week.

OLTL is actually starting to turn into a watchable show again with the whole Matthew and Cole drug situation so they deserve to go up next week.

The unwatchable show that become AMC is the reason why its good to have alternatives like B&B b/c that show is on fire with their classic writing bringing the family scandals to the forefront.

OLTL deserves to be the 2nd highest rated soap, but mark my words, it is on the beginning of a steep decline... It is very stylized and with a definite tone. And the general audience doesn't like it. lolllll. I do. 1.9 to 1.8, at which point I expect Ron to me demoted or gets a co headwriter (which I don't think is a bad idea)

B&B- I have been loving this return to classic B&B storytelling, but the dialogue and performances are embarrassing- The worst on television today.
