I can't wait for next week's ratings to see if the change at The Price is Right helped CBS. As for this week, I'm hoping ATWT went up!

Praying ABC hits a record low...sans OLTL of course. OLTL deserves to be the top rated ABC soap. GH is creatively bankrupt and AMC....well creatively their better than McTavish, but can't hold my attention for very long. I will continue to wish bad ratings upon GH until one of the higher ups gets rid of Frons and the hackers writing for GH.

DAYS and GL definitely need to rise. I'd be happy with a .1 increase, I'd love a .2, but I think a .1 would be more realistic.

I understand where you're coming from JP, but maybe with better writing and production, fans would return to the genre. Right now, the people writing are perfectly content with writing half-assed, agenda based lack luster writing. For the sake of the genre improving, we need changes to happen. And for that to happen, things have to get bad...worse even before they improve.

The status quo will not save soaps! TPTB at ABC need a major wake up call ( really they all need pink slips) only super low ratings will force change.

Really curious about what you mean re "agenda-based" writing. Could you clarify that for me?

Also, at this point on the history of soaps, it seems like the answers to dropping ratings are routinely LARGE budget cuts, rather than seeking out new perspectives and talent. New talent isn't always given a chance to flourish, due to budgetary constraints. Writers get fired and not replaced, to save money.

I agree with Ryan. If these recycle writers & the people who hire them don't care about the genre surviving because they are writing the same bull over and over why should I wish they survive. I been soap free ever since May.

Changes needs to be made to improve the genre.
