Members Mason
--> QUOTE(Chris B @ Mar 18 2007, 02:57 PM) If GL submits that 70th episode they will definitely lose next year. It was like a high school play, although the script was good. But I do seem them getting laughed out of the stadium with that for Best Drama. Well, they could submit that and another unrelated episode with more drama, like Tammy's death, for instance.
Members Chris B
Yeah, but one bad tape could take the entire thing. Last year Y&R submitted Phick having sex for the first time with Cassie's death and many industry people said thats why they lost. GL would be best sticking to Tammy's death and they will no doubt have some fantastic episodes to pair it with. Probably an ITL episode.
Members Mason
I just think that if OLTL could win in 2002 with their jail broadway episode, GL couldn't be too hurt by their 70th Anniversary episode.
Members 2shane8
OL actually won for the Trading Places episode, not the jail musical. But they balanced the comedy with their second submission, which was the climax of Nora's trial for Colin's murder, one of the most dramatic moments of the year. But I agree that the 70th Anniversary could get GL an Emmy.
Members NYC123
Still can't believe that AMC get snubbed in the Directing Category. I would think that they would send the clip of the explosion. AMC got snubbed this year!

Members SpiritualJunkie
Not sure if this has already been mentioned but GL submitted Jonathan's first ITL and Dinah's ITL with the failed wedding to Mallet. I think the former is a great choice but I don't remember the latter being that good. I'm surprised they didn't use something from Reva's cancer reveal. Members Sylph
GL's tapes are: #14852 February 8, 2006 Jonathan and Tammy have a special night planned, but things start to go wrong when Jonathan has a vision of Nate, who is trying to tell him how wrong he is for Tammy. He shows him a vision first of Jonathan and Tammy's future, where they are all alone, then shows Jonathan what Tammy's life would have been like without him in it, where she is marrying her soul mate. The next vision shows Jonathan a sibling-like relationship that could have developed if Jonathan had been honest with Tammy from the start. Once back in the real world, Jonathan takes off on Tammy, telling her to go and live her life, but she continues to insist that the only life she wants is one with him in it. and #15003 Sept. 13, 2006 All of Dinah and Mallet's friends urge them to get back together at their non wedding reception. Dinah and Mallet decide to get married there and then but Dinah is stalled by Jeffrey's sudden appearance. Dinah is forced to leave with Jeffrey when he threatens to spend her back to prison if she doesn't help him now.
Members Sylph
The Young and the Restless #8539 December 18, 2006 The storm hits Genoa City in full force, stranding together a number of interesting duos. Adrian and Colleen, Brad and Sharon and Phyllis and Jack are all caught together. Nick comes across Daniel and Lily, who have gone off the road together. Amber, Jill, Kay and Esther wind up at the Chancellor mansion together with Sylvia Browne. #8515 November 10, 2006 Neil, Paul, and Michael discuss where Carmen could’ve been killed, and they agree that it is possible the murder happened in the parking garage where all evidence will soon be walked or driven over. They discuss various possibilities where different people could or would kill Carmen. There is Dru’s scenario as she confronts Carmen in the parking garage. Carmen reaches for her phone to call the police when Dru grabs a metal rod and hits Carmen on the head with it. Dru’s motive would be to protect her family. Then there is Michael’s murder scene where Michael pushes Carmen who loses her balance and slams her head on a hard object, killing her. Michael’s motive would be for the trial to go away. Next is Brad’s murder scene in the garage. Carmen tells Brad that she is going to need another zero attached to her buyout, and in a rage Brad smashes Carmen’s head against a wall. Brad’s motive would be to silence Carmen so that she doesn’t spill the secret she has on him. Victoria’s murder scene is where Victoria shows her stolen portfolio to Carmen, asking her why it was in Carmen’s trunk. Carmen says that she’s having the collection appraised and that Victoria will have to re-bid for her collection. Furious, Victoria picks up a tire iron and smashes it on Carmen’s head. Jana’s murder scene happens at the coffeehouse where Carmen wants to order but no one is at the counter. She walks into the back room and finds Jana with the stolen portfolio, demanding to know why she has it. Jana picks up a blunt object and slaps it on Carmen’s head. Lily’s murder scene: Lily rushes into the parking garage after Carmen and they get into a fight. Lily slaps Carmen in the face and Carmen stumbles back, hitting her head. Devon’s murder scene is when Devon tries to tell Carmen how Dru saved him from a hard life, and when Carmen isn’t affected, Devon swings a baseball bat at her, defending Dru’s honor. Then there is Neil’s murder scene Neil waits for Carmen in the garage, angry at Carmen for messing with his head like she did and turning on their friendship. He pulls out a blunt instrument and hits Carmen on the head. Finally, there is Jack’s murder scene as Jack says that Carmen is blackmailing him by trying to extort money out of the company, and slams her head against the car. At the coffeehouse, Brad says that if the investigators dig into his past and find out his real identity, that Victoria could be dragged into the case, too. Across the room, Kevin and Jana imagine that mysterious Professor Korbel could also have been the killer. Colleen and Korbel discuss how Kevin almost killed her once, so she wouldn’t put it past him to kill Carmen again.
Members Sylph
B&B #4950 December 6, 2006 Stephanie confronts Ann in Chicago, trying to get answers from her mother as to why she never protected her. Pam admits to having questions about events in the past, including blood on the sheets and Stephanie's refusal to go swimming, but says Stephanie never let her ask the questions. Ann tries to turn it around on Stephanie, insisting that anything Stephanie got she deserved, but Stephanie refuses to accept that explanation anymore. In Los Angeles, Taylor gathers Thorne, Felicia and Ridge together to tell them about why Stephanie is in Chicago. All three react differently, with Thorne trying to rationalise it in his own mind, Ridge talking about Stephanie's abilities as a mother and how they were affected, and Felicia tearfully asking questions in a hope to understand. #4951 December 7, 2006 Thorne and Taylor put Ally to bed as they discuss Stephanie and her father. Thorne still finds it hard to believe how a parent could abuse their child and for the mother to do nothing. Brooke tells Ridge that she finally understands Stephanie's anger and controlling nature due to her childhood. Ridge and Brooke spend time with Hope and help her with a dance for school. Ann still refuses to take any responsibility for John beating Stephanie. Ann blames it all on Stephanie and refuses to allow any bad word said against John. Eric defends Stephanie and vents his full anger at Ann. Stephanie and Eric return to Los Angeles and she tells him that she never wants to see Ann ever again. Members Sylph
One Life to Live #9686 May 29, 2006 The governor refuses to hold off on the execution and with Todd's final words to Blair he vows never to forgive her. Starr creates a scene outside the prison when she realises that Spencer is headed inside to watch the execution. John manages to arrive at the prison just as Todd is being given the third injection. #9779 "John's funeral" Friday, October 6, 2007 Asa was warmly welcomed back surrounded by a happy band of Buchanans. Asa congratulated Clint for having dumped Dorian. Bo shared that David Vickers thought Spencer had been behind the mishaps that happened on and around New Year's Eve to the Buchanans. Bo reminded them that Spencer had been up at the cabin on New Year's. Asa clearly didn't want to talk about it at that moment. Nigel called Asa on that mysterious black and white photo that he had hidden in the drawer. Asa didn't spill any details, but he was uneasy. David ran into Dorian in a public park. Dorian was horrified to realize that David spent the night on a park bench. David asked Dorian to accompany him to the funeral. David felt responsible for John's death, in that he had been involved, though not responsible for, Thomas McBain's death as well. David went to the funeral and spoke directly to Mrs. McBain. David told her that John had given him a second chance and he thanked her. The McBains were not too responsive, but Bo told David that it took guts for him to show up today. Rex arrived at John's funeral and wondered where Natalie was. At Viki's, Roxy slapped Natalie when Natalie, still dressed in her robe, said she didn't see the point in going to John's funeral. Viki encouraged Natalie to go, adding that she'd regret it for the rest of her life if she didn't. Natalie went with her family. She was eager "to get this thing over with." She (and we) watched as the flag-draped coffin was carried in by the police guard to the music from a bagpipe. With deep emotion Bo gave the eulogy and spoke movingly about John being a true hero. The priest prayed and Michael thanked everyone for coming. Natalie sat and touched her engagement ring. The graveside service was beautifully directly and scripted. Each mourner had a few words as they left a flower in the grave. Evangeline sang "Oh Danny Boy." A tearful Natalie had been giving the flag, and was the last one left sitting. Members Y&RWorldTurner
Cool, thanks for posting Sylph! IMO, Y&R and OLTL screwed themselves over with the second episodes they submitted. GL or B&B all the way! Also, I thought B&B had to submit 4 episodes, since its only a half hour show...?
Members Josh
Yeah I think B&B gets to submit four episodes I remember them talking about that when Jennifer Finnigan was winning her Emmys year after year after year!
