  1. No. That's Ilene Kristen.
  2. If Jean Passanante started writing a soap and cast Marcy Walker in it, we'd have the ULTIMATE thread.
  3. I'm pretty sure that's Larry & Susan
  4. Thank you for posting these 1984 eps! So happy to see Kathleen Layman's MJ. She was one of my favorite heroines at the time. And good to know I didn't imagine the flirtation she had with Rick Porter's Larry. Chemistry in spades. Maybe some posters will better understand why I could never accept Sally Spencer in the part
  5. She did, in her exit storyline which was a DID storyline. At the time, it was painful to watch, knowing she was being written out that way but upon re-watching it, it was actually quite phenomenal. Marcy was EXTRAORDINARY in it. She never went over the top- each performance was subtle and full of nuance. There was even this thing she would do with her eyelids to indicate that she was in the Lisa personality. Remarkable work from an exceptional actress. Other breakdowns I thought were fab- Eileen Davidson as Kristen on DAYS Kimberlin Brown as Sheila on Y&R and B&B Sabryn Genet as Tricia on Y&R Marie Wilson as Meg on ATWT (I didn't watch GL during Cynthia Watros so can't speak to that)
  6. Nothing would make me happier!!!
  7. I always preferred Connor to Grant (I have a soft spot for Scott Thompson Baker). I say that because Grant pretty much took Connor's role on the show. STB never met a woman he didn't have chemistry with! He was the first person outside of Ridge that I actually liked Brooke with....and he was absolute FIRE with Kimberlin Brown's Sheila. Oh Sly. I loved Sly.....whoever had the idea to have SLY rape anyone was an idiot....I preferred him poking a hole in his condom and trying to impregnate Jessica. Didn't that story start out with Jasmine (Lark Voorhies) actually helping Sly win Jessica because she wanted Dylan? The fire came into play when she double crossed Sly (post-rape). Dylan was another character I actually quite liked. Why they only tested him with Darla and never went there made no sense to me. They had chemistry in spades.
  8. I'll say it now then- Valentini would NOT be a good fit at Y&R. DAYS or B&B- yes.
  9. Actually, with Ron C being at DAYS, wouldn't the likelier scenario be Valentini taking over as EP of DAYS? SONY seems to be pleased with Mal Young.
  10. It's SO true!!! I'll only take Budig as Mac if it means I get Luckinbill as JT.
  11. I hope not. For the first time since David Tom's initial run, I really enjoy the character of Billy. Jason Thompson has chemistry with everyone, especially Gina Tognoni, Peter Bergman, Eileen Davidson, and Jess Walton, all of which are key to having a successful Billy. His Billy is multifaceted, chic, suave, and cunning all at once. AND he's not humorless (David Tom, Burgess Jenkins) nor is his sense of humor annoying (Billy Miller). Hell, I'd love it if they threw him at Sharon instead of Victoria and we had a truly viable triangle with Sharon & Phyllis. Either way, I don't think Miller is going anywhere at GH. This WREAKS of Jake/Jason re-write.
  12. I LOVED Felicia/Sergei as well!
  13. JFP to DAYS!!!
  14. Of all the cancelled soaps over the years, I don't remember there ever being an uproar like there was when AW went off the air.
  15. Why was there no new Potomac on Sunday? I was dying to see the events leading to Karen's meltdown....
  16. I LOVED the Travis character and wish they'd bring him back. He came the closest to filling the "Brad Carlton" void of any character introduced since.
  17. Actually, Maura West had potential as Diane- her first week was delicious! Her encounters with Victor, Nikki, and Ashley- all on point! Then they did literally NOTHING with her for weeks on end. When they brought in that creepy kid to play her son- GENIUS! They could have gotten miles out of that! Instead they threw her at Nick and kept her in all of the wrong characters' orbits. By the end, they had gotten so desperate that they threw her in story with Adam. Adam Newman was beneath the character of Diane Jenkins. HOWEVER, the best, most complex, interesting version of Diane will always belong to Alex Donnelly. Talk about an actress that had chemistry with everyone! She was such a different beast of a Y&R character too- hardened features, husky voice, masculine mannerisms- there was just something about her that drew you in and made you want to watch, even if you hated her character.
  18. Ok, THIS I take issue with. Y&R was NEVER an umbrella story kind of show. Never, never, never. And yes, they DID have stories. But they moved VERY slowly, which helped them to be able to balance 5 or 6 stories. There were days where not much happened in a story. And they certainly were never a show where Monday wrapped up the prior week's story while kicking off that week's story, Tuesday-Thursday build to Friday tag- Y&R NEVER ran that way. ONE story would climax, while story B was building, story C was in the middle, story D hadn't hit its first arch, story E was starting, and seeds were being planted for story F. That was the classic Y&R structure. BUT rarely was there an umbrella story, in the truest sense of the word. The one that I would say came closest was Victor's "Death" in 1993, only because his return impacted so many characters and stories (the climax in the Collonade Room is one of my fave sequences EVER on a soap). Even that wasn't a true umbrella story- those were always more of an ABC and P&G style, never the Bell soaps or even Corday.
  19. That storyline was the Dobsons. People complain about their second tenure and I really don't get it. They managed to keep me invested in the show for the first 8 months after Marcy left, which was no easy feat. They also created a new heroine that I fell in love with- Angela!
  20. Pam Long didn't see her as a heroine- she saw her as a sexed up vamp. Ironically, the only interesting thing about Long's tenure was the Angela/Ted relationship she created. But, only seeing her as a vamp and not a heroine, there was no follow-through, Ted ended up with Lily, Angela ended up alone, and Nina Arvesen was one of 2 or 3 cast members who didn't appear on the last episode. I believe her last appearance was on the 3rd or 4th to last ep. It was a total missed opportunity. The Dobsons liked writing for her and saw the potential. That changing of the guard in the writers' room never should have happened.
  21. B&B and SB are also both wildly popular in France.
  22. Um so about that Wally Kurth......yikes!! Memorize your lines dude. His scenes have been a hot mess lately!
  23. I LOVED Angela and that was the storyline where I fell in love with her. They really should have continued trying her as the new female lead because it was working. Unfortunately, Pam Long severely backburnered her in favor of BJ Walker. It didn't work, like all of Long's tenure.
