Let's hope everybody goes up as this has been a great sweeps period so far for every soap but in particular OLTL and GL.

OLTL is on fire right now and still is this week. Hopefully the quality will turn into higher ratings because it deserves it. GL is doing very well also in quality but the format is keeping it from hitting a 2.0 but I still think it can do that.

B&B is that one soap that you like to take a break from sometimes but it finds a way to glue you in and its done just that. Only bad this week is that CBS soaps were only on for three days last week due to NCAA first round action.

The only bad news I hope to get this week from the soap industry is that the Daytime Emmys are on The Can't Watch Network (The CW) in late August. That just totally ruined my week as the Daytime Emmys are my favorite awards show and now its on that low-rated network due to economic problems for the major networks.

My guess is GL will stay the same.

You really think that about ABC? I find their shows the most stagnant and they seem to have zero ability to maintain any small gains they get )i.e. AMC for the last 6 weeks, OLTL in November and part of December.

It seems that only Days and to a lesser extent Y&R that seem to have the ability to get huge gains, and Days is the only show to hold a large viewership #

I agree with you on most of this. Unfortunately, I think all soaps lack any kind of vision or creativity. They seem like newspaper. They just are sitting back and waiting to die rather than attempting some form of change. JMO.
