Words from new Show runner ML Cooks
Posted Image

I usually don't do these kind of things and rarely give previews. I try to remain "press free" and "interview free"

There has been a lot of chaos and confusion behind the scenes lately on LIS. First it was announced that LIS was back with new episodes after being on a yearlong hiatus. After episode began to air, the show fell into another unexpected hiatus. During that time, show creator Tara Smith was unable to contribute creatively to the show she created. ML Cooks, having already been co head writer for a few years, has laid out a very detailed and dramatic long-term story projection for LIS and the show must go on and it will. Through ML Cooks.

Now with that being said. The episodes that are currently airing right now were written and produced in February of this year. They were supposed to air in March.

Having said that, you may notice some things about to happen that may seem a bit similar to the real “Days of our Lives” and the “Young and the Restless”. What do I mean?
LIS itself has been in the midst of it’s own reboot even before the yearlong hiatus. The reboot never made it to air. In that reboot, I have written in a whodunit. I again want to stress that this was created about a year ago, that I wanted to kill a certain some one off in a whodunit.

So there you have it. LIS will be telling it’s own whodunit. I will not reveal just whom it is here in this press release, you’ll have to read the series to see who it is. The whodunit will serve as a reboot as new storylines begin. LIS will not be dominated with the murder mystery as in Y&R. I am rotating other stories in and out of it.

To get the big storyline started, I am airing a series of three episodes to set up the whodunit starting with episode 460. It will be told in three different parts and will involve legacy characters such as Bill Horton and Julie Williams. Bill Horton is being played by Jerry vor DornPosted ImagePosted Image

Big changes are coming for LIS with a big murder mystery to kick things off.

Stay tuned for some status updates in the casting department.

Drama lives here.

Life in Salem
Episode#459: A Dad of Destiny
Written by: Tara Smith

Java CafePosted Image

It is mid-morning in Salem, shortly after Carrie, Eric, and Brandon said their goodbyes and left town. Rex is having a cup of coffee, surprised by this turn of events.
Rex
So my brother and sister are gone just like that. Wow. Another one of my brothers is in jail; things have been crazy lately.
Alexis, suddenly walking up and taking a seat
And they're about to get even crazier. It's about time I found you; I've been sitting on this info all night.
Rex
Not you again. You're that woman that was questioning me about my sister once.
Alexis
Yeah. Alexis. I finally got the dish on your twin, and believe me, you're going to want to hear it.
Rex
What now?
Alexis takes out her cell phone, and re-plays the conversation that took place the night before between her and Jan. Rex listens as Jan confesses every little detail about how Mimi took the fall for pushing Cassie out of that window.
Rex
Whoa; I can't believe it.
Alexis
Actually, you don't look that shocked to me.
Rex is silent for a moment; he flashes back to suspecting some foul play with Cassie several times, and briefly suspecting that Jan had something to do with it. His suspicions had finally been proven right.
Rex
Fine. I gave up investigating a long time ago, but I had a feeling about this; I believed that Mimi was innocent. It doesn't surprise me that Jan ties into it, either. She's the one that pushed my sister out of the window. Wow...and Mimi went down for it...
Alexis
So you pretty much knew Cassie was a bitch?
Rex
Hey! Don't insult her like that; Cassie's a good person, but she's gone too far. Way too far; this just proves it. I guess I didn't want to believe it, but it's true. Mimi's innocent; the love of my life is innocent.
Alexis
And she's rotting in prison because of a bogus statement that your good sister gave to the police! Don't you think it's time to set her free?
Rex heavily sighs. He is about to help expose his sister, but at this point, he has no choice; he loves Mimi and now he can finally be with her again. He flashes back to their emotional goodbye before she was taken to prison. He has to bring down Cassie for her wrongdoing, and free Mimi.
Rex
Yeah, it is. Let's go to the police.
Alexis eagerly gets up and grabs Rex by the hand; both of them dart out of Java Cafe, heading to the police station.

Back at the Brady PubPosted Image

Belle, Nicole, and Cassie are still at the Pub, after everyone else has left; Nicole decided to have a meal, whhi both Belle and Cassie clean the place up a bit. Cassie is on her phone constantly.
Cassie
Come on, Jeremy, pick up.
Nicole flashes back to her drinking with Jeremy twice and going out to lunch with him, knowing that he is very distraught at the moment.
Nicole
Hey, alien girl, here's a word of advice. Stop hammering the guy with phone calls and let him breathe. His mom just got exposed for being a total fraud in front of an entire courtroom; it's hard for anyone to take. Let him recover.
Cassie, glaring at her
Is this any of your business? No. I need to find my boyfriend!
Nicole looks at Belle.
Nicole
So, Belle, how are things with you and Nicholas? I saw him at the bar a little while back.
Belle nearly drops the plate she is holding out of surprise.
Belle
What?! You did?! I haven't spoken to him since he ran off and left me; how is he? Is he okay?
Nicole
Sorry, but he didn't look that way to me; he was drunk and depressed.
Belle
Did he say anything about me?
Nicole, hesitating
Um, not good things, honey.
Belle shakes her head, disappointed in how Nicholas is acting; by the expression on Nicole's face, she can tell that she's holding something back.
Belle
What is it, Nicole? You're not telling me something.
Nicole
Well, okay. I didn't want to tell you, because he was drunk and it's not going to s-
Belle
Just say it. Please.
Nicole
He kind of...groped me. It was really gross, but like I said, he was drunk. I'm not sure if the bastard was thinking at all.
Belle
I can't believe this. This is nothing like the man I fell in love with! His aunt Vivian has driven him to new extremes. I have to find him and make this right. Too much is going on right now!
The doors to the Brady Pub open, and a hungover Jan stumbles in.
Jan
Ow...too much alcohol last night. Can't believe this.
She looks up to see Nicole, Cassie, and Belle. She smirks.
Jan
Well good. The porn star, the princess, and the alien. Now all we need is Measels, Ghoul Girl, Miss Rabies, and Euggie and we'll have one huge bitch party.
Belle, groaning
What do you want, Jan? I have too much going on to deal with you.
Jan
I don't feel like seeing you either, Belle, but I was hoping I'd find someone here.
She looks at Cassie.
Jan
You better run, bitch. Because you're going down; it's all about to come out. Everyone's about to know that you framed Mimi for pushing you out of that window.
Belle
What?!
Cassie's eyes go wide, and she stares at Jan.
Cassie
What do you mean? Is this why Jeremy's not talking to me? Jan, what the hell are you talking about?!
Jan
Okay, I'm sorry, but I got drunk and told all to some girl named Alexis Kefer. She sounded really happy when I told her.
Cassie's jaw drops; Jan chose the worst person to tell.
Cassie
What?! I save your ass from going to jail and get rid of an enemy of both of us, and one day you just confess to a whore like ALEXIS?! What's wrong with you?!
Jan
You know what? I don't think I even care any more. I admit it; I pushed you out the window, and you used it to frame Mimi!
Belle
Whoa, what?! Mimi WAS framed?! By you two?!
Cassie
Damnit, Jan! Have you lost your mind?
Nicole
Did she ever have it?
Jan, growing angry
What haven't I lost, Cassie?! Shawn is dead! Lucas deserted me for some nurse! Bo and Hope have taken my son from me. I have absolutely nothing left, so I don't care any more!
Cassie
You dumbass! Mimi was going to rot in prison for years, and after all of this time, you ruined it! I had a good boyfriend, Rex was free of her...everything was great! But you blabbed to Alexis!
Jan
Not my problem; Shawn is dead and he was through with Mimi, so she has nothing to do with me. She's one of the last things on my mind. You handle your own mess.
Cassie
You could go to jail too, you idiot! You DID push me out of that window, and you sat back while Mimi was convicted!
Jan
But you masterminded it all; you gave the wrong statement to the police. I think you're in it a little deeper than I am. And like I said, I don't even care any more. I've lost everything.
Cassie
You'll pay for this. I swear to you, you will pay for this.
Cassie darts out of the pub, now very anxious and worried, and Belle looks on, shocked.
Belle
Jan, do you have a heart at all? What haven't you done to the people you hate?
Jan
Don't get all saintly, Belle. I've had enough of it throughout my life from you, and I'm sure as hell not getting it today.
Nicole
How does this shock you? Jan scheming and lying is nothing new.
Jan
You know, Belle, everything goes back to you; out of everyone in my life, I think I've hated you the most. You took Shawn from me more than once. While I've had to suffer so many losses, you've danced around, like only St. Belle would, in your little fairy-tale. It's a real pity that I have to say you're my sister now.
Belle
Don't blame me for your problems, Jan! That's what you've always done, and let me tell you something: I'm not having it any more! Do you know why you are constantly hurting like this?! Because you never stop screwing up! Instead of letting a relationship naturally take its course, you feel like you have to control it! You have to play God with everyone's lives. You did that when you lied about me pushing you down the stairs, when you held Shawn in that cage and made him think he was your fiancee, when you blackmailed Mimi, when you stole Shawn's sperm, when you played along with that baby switch...you never stop! If you told the truth and acted like a decent person for once, you would find that you'd have a lot more success in life! Maybe one day you will learn that and will finally get a grip on your life.
Jan
I never have a choice! I always lose everyone I love to some other woman! A disgusting, vile woman who I never understand. You continue to pretend that you are perfect; well I know otherwise, and so does everyone else, sweetheart. One day you'll realize that you're just as bad, if not worse, than everyone else.
Nicole
You know, Jan, you sound so pathetic.
Jan
Don't get started with me, Nicole. I'm actually here to say goodbye; I'm leaving Salem.
Nicole
Hallelujiah! Music to my ears.
Jan, scowling
I've lost everything. I need to get out of this damn town and away from all of you people; I need to re-juvinate.
Belle
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Jan heads to the door, but turns around and looks at the two women.
Jan
But let me tell you something; once I've had time away, and all of this has blown over, I will be back. I'm going to come back and take my son away from Shawn's idiotic parents, and mark my words, everyone will pay! I am Jan Spears, and I may be down, but I'm not out. One day, I will return, and wipe the floor with every single one of you.
Jan storms out, planning to leave Salem.

St. Luke's CemetaryPosted Image

Bill is in the large cemetary at St.Luke's, standing over his parents' graves. The tombstones of Tom and Alice Horton are before him; the leaders of the Horton family.
Bill
You know, it's still hard without either of you around; both of you have been gone for years, but every one still thinks about you constantly. Every one still needs that guidance; I still need that guidance sometimes. I've spent so many years on this Earth, yet half the time I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing.
He looks directly at his father's grave.
Bill
I can never be you, Dad. I can never be that strong, loving patriarch; look at where my family is. Mike and Jeremy are feuding because Mike slept with Jeremy's girlfriend; Lucas is going to prison. I suppose Jennifer's happy, but it's taken years for her to get there. And I can barely help any of them; I'm not the man you were. The man who came closest was Mickey, and he's long gone now.
Bill hears crackling footsteps behind him, and he turns to see Laura.
Laura
That's not true, Bill. Tom would be so proud of you.
Bill
Thank you, Laura, but I doubt that. What brings you here?
Laura
What brings you here?
Bill
Nostalgia, I suppose. Reflecting on everything; I needed to visit the family members we have here.
Laura
Same here. It's been a while since I came here, and I felt like I needed to. I don't try to dwell on the past, but that doesn't mean I need to forget it, either.
Bill and Laura begin walking through the cemetary, visiting all of their deceased family members. First, they find Addie's grave.
Bill
Ah, Addie; you died too young. You were always such a great older sister, and you survived so much, then one surprise incident took you from us.
They continue walking, and they see the graves of Shawn and Zack Brady, Bo and Hope's two sons.
Laura
Talk about dying too young; these two were far too young. Shawn was just a young man, and Zack was just a small child...it's so horrible. They both sounded like such great boys, and then they were taken from Bo and Hope like that. Zack got hit by a car, just like Addie, and Shawn's car exploded.
Bill
It really is awful.
They move on, and finally they come upon the grave of Mickey. A strong member of the Horton family; Bill's brother, and Laura's ex-husband.
Laura
Oh, Mickey; we still miss you so much. Maggie still misses you.
Bill
You died too young, as well. You deserved a much longer and happy life, especially after what we did to you.
Laura
Remember when he died and you comforted me?
Bill
I remember a lot of things, Laura.
Laura, snorting
We have a long history, don't we? There are so many memories. So many bad memories.
Bill
To think that all of that madness with Mickey wouldn't have happened if I hadn't gone that damn tuberculosis in my hand. I was able to fix it, but it still ruined everything for us.
Laura
Don't blame it all on that. That was just the beginning; it is amazing, though. Before all of that drama, before I ever married Mickey, you and I were engaged. Then you got that bone disease and took off.
Bill
It seems I do quite a bit of that.
Laura
Then while you were gone I fell in love with Mickey, and married him.
Bill
And I was so angry; I was beyond jealous. I stupidly got drunk, and I raped you.
Laura frowns, recalling the awful night that Bill raped her in her own office at the hospital.
Laura
That was horrible, but it was what created our wonderful son, Mike. I could never call it a mistake.
Bill
Maybe not. And you never even told anyone; you could have thrown me in jail, but you didn't. That still impresses me.
Laura
I didn't want you and Mickey to fight any more. You two had already clashed enough over me before you and I got engaged, I just didn't want any more drama. That definitely wasn't the end, though. When your father and I put our heads together, we realized that Mickey was sterile and you were the father of my baby. So we agreed to keep it a secret; we agreed to keep your son from you.
Bill
It's not like I was in the dark the entire time; I found the results of Mickey's sterility test in Dad's office. I decided that it'd be best that nobody knew that I knew, and I let life go on; I was missing out on one of the best kids there was, but for you and Mickey, I'd do anything.
Laura, smiling
You're right about that. You even went to prison for Kitty's death, instead of taking the easy way out and exposing the truth; Kitty had that conversation between Tom and I recorded and she was going to use it against us, but you went over there and refused to leave without that tape. She had a heart attack and we all thought that you killed her; you never told a soul, just to keep my secret safe. That was when I fell in love with you all over again, and I wanted to leave Mickey and marry you.
Bill
And things only got more crazy; Mike thought we were having an affair and hated me, then I had to save Mickey's life. To make things worse, Mickey disappeared, and you and I couldn't get married until we found him. We got lucky, though; he fell in love with Maggie and agreed to divorce you.
Laura
We caused that man so much pain. When Mike's paternity came out after he got injured, and neither of us were a match to donate blood, Mickey went bezerk. He tried to shoot you and had to be sent to Bayview. Then, you and I tried to remain married and happy, but it was like we just couldn't. I fell into a depression after having Jennifer, and nearly endangered her life.
Bill
I had two affairs.
Laura
And then I was sent away.
Bill
I'm sorry for all the pain I caused you; I probably hurt you far more than any one else. I raped you, I cheated on you twice.
Laura
It's strange; we've done so much to each other, but I still always felt something for you. We barely ever had a relaxed, happy marriage, but I still always felt something.
Bill
Even after you woke up and rejected me?
Laura
Can you blame me? I was in a lot of pain at the time; I'd just woken up after being catatonic for years and years. Kate was in town with the son that you fathered. I had to turn you away, because I was too confused, and I was in too much pain.
Bill
I don't blame you; I really wanted you back, but I didn't deserve you. I still don't; at that point, we did far too much to each other to ever be together.
Laura
Would you do any of it differently, Bill? Anything at all in our complicated history?
Bill
I'm...I'm not sure. I want to say yes, because it would've spared a lot of people. But I don't know; our history is what makes us unique, Laura, and I'm not sure if I would be willing to get rid of that. No matter how hurtful it was to both of us.
Laura
I know what you mean.
Bill
And no matter how many times I cheated on you, you were always the woman at home that I came back to; you were always the real one that I loved. Always the wife that I knew I needed more than anyone else. I'd try to date other women while you were catatonic, but my guilt would come back to haunt me. I could never do it.
Laura
And no matter how many times I rejected you, whether it was for Mickey, or because you cheated on me, I still felt something. Even after you cheated on me with Kate and we finally called it quits all those years later, I still felt something deep down.
The two stare at each other for a very long moment, after reflecting on their long, troubled history.
Bill
It really is a pity that we didn't end up together, Laura.
Laura
Maybe. But that is in the past; our marriage is in the past. I think we both realized that a long time ago.
Bill
And the past...is the past. Not the present.

Salem Place ApartmentsPosted Image

Destiny is alone in the living room of Sami's apartment, as Will is taking care of Arianna in another room, and both Sami and John are also in other rooms. She sits quietly, reading a magazine. Suddenly, her cell phone rings, and she answers it.
Destiny
Hello?
Man
Destiny; it's me.
Destiny's eyes go wide out of shock; this is the last person she ever expected to hear from after she ran away to Salem with Will. She hasn't spoken to this man for a long time, and she certainly didn't expect to now.
Destiny
Dad?!
Franklin Stokes
That's right, Destiny, it's me.
Destiny
It's...it's great to hear your voice. I mean, it has been so long...is everything okay? Are you?
Franklin
Believe me, Destiny, I am more than okay after hearing your lovely voice. Especially because I know that I'll be seeing you soon.
Destiny
What?! But I'm all the way over in a town called Salem.
Franklin
And so am I.
Destiny's jaw drops. She is stunned.
Destiny
What?! You are?! Seriously?
Franklin
Yes, seriously; you and I have been out of touch for far too long. I decided that it was time to just pack up and come to Salem.
Destiny
I can't believe this! I mean, I'm happy, but it's so sudden! Where are you?
Franklin
I'm at the bus station, and I need a ride. I was hoping that you could provide.
Destiny
Oh, of course! I'll be right there! As soon as I can!
Franklin, smiling
Alright; I will see you very soon. I love you.
Destiny
Love you, too.
They hang up, and Destiny stands up, hurrying to get around. She is still surprised.
Destiny
My dad's come to Salem!

Brady PubPosted Image

Carrie, Brandon, Eric, Sami, John, Rex, Cassie, Belle, Will, Faye, Abe, and Nicole are all down at the Brady Pub. Carrie and Brandon have called them all there to make an announcement.
Faye
So, you've got us all here. What's this all about? Is something wrong?
Brandon
No, Mom, not at all. We have...good news.
Sami
Carrie, please don't tell me you're pregnant already!
Carrie, shocked
Sami! That's not it!
Nicole
Jealous, Sami? It's too bad that it's not you sinking your claws into my brother.
Sami
Shut up, Nicole.
Abe
So, what is it? What's this good news, son?
Brandon
Well, this is sudden, but we wanted to tell all of you at the same time. I've gotten a nice job offer in Colorado; it's really great. I'm going to be able to counsel a lot of kids down there, and it'll give my charity work a big boost. I've taken it, and I'm moving immediately.
Everyone in the room is stunned and amazed.
Faye
Wow, Brandon, I can't believe it! That's great!
Carrie
And I'm going with him.
Belle
What?! Wow! I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but whoa. That's great, Carrie!
Abe
It feels like you two just got back to Salem, and now you're leaving again. You can never stay long, can you?
Brandon
Well, we've been here a while, and we're going to miss everyone, but this is a job offer that I can't pass up.
Abe
I understand, Brandon. I'm going to miss you, though; I could've really used my son to stand with me when I get married.
Brandon
Yeah, I know, and I really wanted to be there. I know that Maggie is the love of your life, and your day is going to be great, with or without me; but we're still family, no matter what. I'll be there in spirit.
Faye is touched as father and son talk, feeling remorse for depriving them of this for so many years.
Carrie
He gave me a choice, and I wanted to come with him; I love Salem, and it's my home, but I love Brandon, too. I couldn't let him get away from me.
She looks at John, who is sitting in a wheelchair. She crouches down.
Carrie
Is this okay with you?
John
What do you mean? Of course it is.
Carrie
Well, it's so sudden, and you just woke up; you just found out about Marlena. And here I am deserting you.
John
No, no, that's not true. You need to do what you feel is right; never let love escape you, Carrie. Life is too short to pass up things like that; like Brandon said, we're still family. And I'm not helpless. I can get past all of this on my own. I know that all of my children have their own lives.
Carrie feels tears coming to her eyes at her father's maturity and strength. She hugs him.
Carrie
I'm sorry. I really am...every time something like this happens, I rush out of town.
John
That's not true. Not one bit.
Eric steps forward, sighing.
Eric
I guess this is as good of a time as any to make my own announcement.
Sami
Ah crap; I knew by the look on your face that this was coming.
Eric
I'm leaving Salem, too. It was really sudden, but I've been thinking about it for a while. I need a break, at least; I don't know where I'm going, but I'll get there somehow. I know that I'm doing this at the totally wrong time, but I feel like I need to do it.
Nicole stares at her first true love for a moment; they haven't been together in years, but that connection is still there. It always would be.
Nicole
I understand, Eric. I think we all need a break from here sometimes.
Eric, smiling
Thanks, Nicole.
He looks to John.
Eric
But, Dad, if you need me to stay, just say the word. I feel bad about this, and if you want me here in Salem, I'll stay for however long you need me. If you don't want me to leave, then I won't. Just speak up.
Carrie
Yeah, same here. Just tell us.
John, smiling
No, all of you are grown. I'm glad that you care about me, and that you've been here for me like you have, but I am grown, too. You have your own lives, and I have mine. We'll always be family, we'll always love each other, but that doesn't mean you have to stand by my side every minute of every day. You don't even have to be in Salem; both of you go and live your lives. Do whatever you need to do to be happy, and know that I'm happy and fine, right here. If you need me, you know that I'm always right here. And this time, I'm not going anywhere.
Eric
Thanks. It means a lot to me; it really does.
Sami
I'll miss you. I'll miss both of you. I know that we've all had our spats and disagreements-
Nicole, interrupting
Understatement of the century.
Sami, glaring at her
But we are family. No matter what, we are all family.
Brandon, smiling
You're right, Samantha.
Sami looks at her ex-husband for a moment, remembering all of their good times and bad times.
Sami
Thanks for everything, Brandon. Take care of my older sister...and take care of yourself.
Carrie
Unfortunately, we have to get a move on; there's no time to waste.
Eric
Yeah, same here. I know I'm darting out the door, but it's kinda what I have to do.
Rex
Don't worry, we understand.
Everyone begins to hug as they say their goodbyes; Eric hugs his twin sister, then he hugs his father, before hugging both Rex and Cassie. He then hugs Nicole.
Nicole
Stay safe out there, okay? Don't go the route that Greta did.
Eric
Bad joke, Nicole.
Nicole
Okay, okay, I'll lay off the insults for you. But seriously, be careful out there in the world. And...don't forget about me, okay? I know you and I are over, but I've never forgotten you. And I never will.
Eric
I don't think I could forget you if I wanted to. And I don't want to.
Nicole smiles at him as they hug one last time, and across the room, Brandon leans in to hug Sami.
Sami
Like I told you earlier, thanks for everything. You've been my rock more than once; I fell in love with you. You helped prove my innocence. The list goes on and on, even if I haven't returned the favor too much.
Brandon
Don't worry about it, Samantha. Thanks for being a friend...and a wife.
The two share a tight embrace, and Nicole walks over to Carrie.
Nicole
I know you and I aren't exactly friends, because of the whole thing with Austin, but I'm really glad you're with my brother. You two make a great couple.
Carrie
Thanks, Nicole. Everything with Austin is in the past, and it should stay that way. Who knows? You and I may even be family one day?
The goodbyes continue, and Brandon hugs both of his parents.
Brandon
Stay safe, Mom. Watch over Nikki, especially in this trying time for her.
Faye
You know I will. I love you.
Brandon
I love you, too.
He turns to Abe.
Brandon
Have a great wedding day, Dad. I know you'll be a great husband; you always were. And can you do me one favor?
Abe
For my own son? Anything.
Brandon
Make peace with Lexie. Somehow convince her to let my brother back into your life.
Brandon walks off, and Abe doesn't say or do anything for a moment, in thought. He simply nods his head.
Carrie and Sami tightly hug.
Carrie
Take care of Dad, okay? He really needs it; thanks so much for stepping up and taking charge of your family like this. My little sister really has grown up.
Sami
Yeah, I'm trying; thanks. I'm sorry for everything that I've put you through over the years.
Carrie
It's okay. We're over it now, and it's in the past. Now it's time to look forward to the future.
Everyone says their final goodbyes, and Eric, Carrie, and Brandon all leave the Brady Pub, leaving their families and friends behind. All of them move on to their next phase in life, saying goodbye to Salem.

Episode#458: The Power of Vivian

Chez Rouge
Posted Image
Vivian stands in front of everyone at Laura's celebration party at Chez Rouge, having just barged in and crashed the entire thing. Everyone inside is shocked and appalled; the room is lined with Vivian's enemies. Laura, Kate, Celeste, Andre, Valentine, Nicholas, Mike, Maggie, Bo, Kristen.
Mike
What are you doing here, Vivian? You have no right to be here.
Vivian, chuckling
I rule Salem. I can go any where I please. I just want to take part in this joyous celebration of your mother's freedom; is there anything wrong with that? I mean, it's not like a bunch of her close friends are here. Kate is here, of all people. My sister and her psychotic husband are here. Kristen is here! None of these people are friends with your mother; they've done nothing to help her. I have. If it wasn't for me, she'd still be in a home getting fed drugs. I got her out of that.
Laura
And you wanted to put me right back in, didn't you? I know what you did, Vivian; you were scared after I sent you that letter, so you hired Robin to make sure that she got me comitted. Two of the biggest bitches in Salem teamed up to bring me down.
Many people in the room are stunned. Everyone looks at each other after this revelation.
Vivian, slightly surprised
Why, my dear, I have no idea what you are talking about. Why would I hire someone I didn't even know to try to put your poor, innocent self back into a mental institution? Despite that nasty letter.
April
Don't play games, Vivian, you know you did it!
Vivian
Who are you again?
Mike
You have wreaked so much havoc on my family lately. You stole the hospital from us, and now you get my ex to try to put my mother back into some crazy home? A place where she doesn't belong?
Vivian
Please! It was just your harlet trying to excuse her own actions!
Laura
Robin may have masterminded the plot, but you took advantage of it.
Kate
We all know it's true, Vivian. Any idiot can figure that out. It's ridiculous that you even try to act innocent.
Vivian
Oh really, Kate? Let's go over what YOU did to Laura, shall we? It's far worse than anything I've ever done to her. You slept with her husband, had a bastard child with him-
Bill
Just hold it right there! That's not true. You have no right to come in here and throw that in our faces. I don't really know you, Vivian, but I've heard of you. You're despicable; taking over all of the businesses in Salem and merging them into one self-centered company? Taking the hospital from a good, hard-working family? That's pathetic.
Vivian
I did all of that in a fair way! I bought the hospital, and all of you Hortons harping on that has already gotten old! Let me tell all of you something: If I wanted to squash Laura after that letter she sent me, I wouldn't go to the trouble of hiring some randomer to get rid of her. I could do it much easier than that!
Laura
You bitch.
Kristen
And we all know you like to get rid of people, don't we? You relish in it. You got rid of my brother just because he exposed some one night stand of yours.
Vivian
That again, Kristen? Really? Your fascination with that has gotten so disturbing. You really should back off and get over it, or it could mean very bad things for you.
Kristen flashes back to Vivian trying to blackmail her over her affair with Bo, and is conflicted; her affair with Bo is seemingly over, but she's not willing to give up on it just yet. However, justice for her brother is very important. Just as important as that.
Bo
Was that a threat?
Vivian
You decide, but I'm not admitting anything.
Bo glances at Kristen, and Hope sees them looking at each other. Her eyes dart back to Vivian
Hope
I think it's time for you to go. You've ruined my aunt's party long enough.
Vivian
I will leave when I want to leave! If you're so anxious, go have a drink or hit the pipe. I know you probably miss it.
Bo, enraged by that sudden remark
Get out, now, before I throw you out!
Vivian
Ooh, did I hit a nerve?
Andre
Everyone has had enough of you, Vivian; as much as everyone in this room may hate each other, I think we all hate you more. You've destroyed the DiMera dynasty. The DiMera name.
Vivian, looking at her sister
Valentine, dear, please come and restrain your lap dog, will you?
Valentine
You expect me to side with you?!
Vivian
Yes...I expect a lot from you. You're my business partner, after all.
Valentine flashes back to Vivian warning her about going to jail for the fire, and she rolls her hands up into a ball, angry with Vivian and her threats. She knows that she has to get rid of Vivian soon; she refuses to let her walk all over Valentine Heart. Vivian, on the other hand, delights in seeing how much influence she has over the people of Salem.
Vivian, looking at Kate
Speaking of DiMeras, how is Tony, Kate? Andre's face just isn't a good substitute for his wonderful presence, is it? Is he still in your bed? Oh, oops, that's right; he deserted you for Anna after he find out you were a murderous whore and is off showering her in some wonder land.
Kate, infuriated
You BITCH!
Kate charges for Vivian, but both Bill and Mike grab her and hold her back.
Maggie
She's not worth it, Kate! Not a woman this pathetic.
Nicholas
Aunt Vivian, just go. You're causing enough trouble; seeing you stampede over everyone has gotten boring.
Vivian
If only you would have joined me on this conquest, dear nephew. It would have been so much better for you than Belle.
Nicholas narrows his eyes, frustrated himself, and Celeste walks forward.
Celeste
I've had enough of this, dahling! You are a conniving witch! You have done nothing but hurt everyone in this room; you manipulate everyone and everything in this town. I've tried to warn you to back off, but you won't listen.
Vivian
You're still just mad because I was the one who had Victor's ring on her finger!
Celeste
And I was the one that was in his arms at the end of the day! When he died, I was there...you weren't! You didn't succeed, dahling!
Vivian
Look around! I've succeeded in so many ways! I've carried on Victor's and Stefano's legacies in ways that NONE of you could! I have made Alamain far greater than Forrest or Nicholas ever could! I am improving the hospital and making it better than Tom Horton's small brain-
Maggie
Okay, that is it! You can come in here and insult us, but you cannot come in here and insult a man like Dr. Tom Horton! Have you NO shame, Vivian?! No shame at all? I am hereby ordering you to leave my resteraunt!
Vivian
Ah well; I've had my fun. No matter whether I am in here or not, I still have the ultimate power.
Vivian turns and leaves, and every single person in the room reels from Vivian's sudden arrival. Every one knows that she must be stopped as soon as possible. Out of the blue, Alexis walks into Chez Rouge, slightly lately for the party. She sees everyone's rattled faces.
Alexis
Damn, what happened in here?

The Next Day

Salem Place ApartmentsPosted Image
It is another nice day in the town of Salem. Carrie comes out of the shower inside her apartment with Brandon, and sees him in the living room. He smiles when he sees her beautiful body wrapped in a towel, and she walks over and sits beside him.
Carrie
My dad gets to come home today; I'm so excited. He's making such a quick recovery.
Brandon
I'm glad to hear that. John always was a tough guy.
Carrie
It's still hard for him when it comes to losing Marlena, but I'm glad he knows. I think we did the right thing by telling him. I just...I feel bad for this. What you and I are going to do.
Brandon sighs and frowns at his lover. He runs his hands through her hair re-assuringly.
Brandon
You don't have to come. You can stay here with your family; they do need you.
Carrie
No; my family is strong, and I think I've helped them get through the worst of this thing with my dad. And I love you and want to go wherever you go, it's just hard with all that's happened.
Brandon
I know. But this is a great job for a counselor like me; I'd get to help a lot of kids at this hospital that they want to hire me at. It'd help all my charities and everything. I can't pass it up.
Carrie
I agree. It's great; it's just so sudden. This big hospital from Colorado calls with a great job offer? Knowing our lives, it's almost suspicious.
Brandon, smirking
It's genuine. But you have to make a decision; are you coming or not?
Carrie sighs; she'd be leaving Salem once again, which is basically her home. Her father just woke up and found out that his wife had been killed. However, she loved Brandon, and had a great relationship with him; she didn't want that to slip away, and she knew that John had his other children around him. Like she had said, she stuck around for some of the worst parts.
Carrie, hesitant
I....I'm going with you. It's going to be hard, really hard, but I'm going with you.
Brandon grins and passionately kisses Carrie. The two begin to kiss avidly as they prepare to start a new life outside of Salem.

Salem SquarePosted Image

In the bustling Salem Square, Mike makes his way through the crowds, struggling to talk on the phone.
Mike
Are you sure you can't get back for it? You just rushed out this morning, and if I have to go to this ball, I'd really like you to be there.
Mike pauses.
Mike
Okay, if it's that important, then I understand. Bye.
He hangs up, and as he looks up, he sees Kate walking up to him.
Kate
Trouble?
Mike, sighing
Kind of, but not really. I'm okay. April had an emergency this morning with a client in New York, so she had to rush out of Salem on the first flight. She won't be back until after the ball, so I am without a date. I could've really used someone like her to keep me calm there.
Kate, snorting
Dealing with Vivian Alamain has always been difficult. And after what she pulled last night, it makes it even harder. She wants every single person in Salem to be at this big ball of hers; I got an invitation. It sounds like you did, too.
Mike
Yep, and so did just about everyone at my Aunt Maggie's house. She wants us all to bow at her feet. I'm sorry about last night, too; it looked like she really threw some thing in your face that hurt you.
Kate
She did; Tony and I...we never even had a real relationship, but I really fell for him. I slept with him, even after his alternate personality nearly killed me. Even after I wanted him dead. It was so personal, but he made me feel something that I had not felt in a long time. Then, my schemes got exposed, and he left town with Anna. It still hurts somewhat.
Mike
I understand. We've all lost loves.
Kate
I know, but I feel like this always happens to me. With all of the men I fall in love with, there's always a woman that takes greater priority. Your father may have cheated on Laura with me, but I know that Laura is the one in his heart; no matter how much we loved each other, Laura will always be the woman he loves. Roman and John always loved Marlena. Tony will always love Anna. Victor was the only one that didn't prefer anyone over me, but our marriage fell apart long before he died, and he found love with Celeste.
Mike
I'm sorry; that must be hard for you. No matter how bad some people can seem, I think everyone has hard lives in their own way. You don't seem like the evil woman that some make you out to be.
Kate, touched
Thank you. Coming from Bill and Laura's son, that means a lot.
Mike
You know what? Both of us need dates to this ball; both of us have a hard time putting up with Vivian. Why don't we accompany each other there?
Kate
Do you really mean that? I mean, with Laura and April and everything...
Mike
Don't worry about them; I'm sure they're fine.
Kate, smiling
Then sure, I would love to.

Cheatin' HeartPosted Image

Nicole is at the bar, once again, drinking. She thinks about her dead husband, Travis, and how he's out of her life forever. She sees Jeremy take a seat.
Nicole
Two days in a row; damn. Guess all that lunch yesterday did was bring us right back here.
Jeremy
It was good, but one lunch won't fix everything I'm going through.
Nicole
I hear ya there.
Jeremy orders a drink, and thinks about the nice lunch that he ended up having with Nicole yesterday; his mind also flashes to all of his problems, and he begins to feel slightly guilty.
Jeremy
You know, should we really have done that yesterday? I know we weren't romantic, but it was pretty much a casual date; I have a girlfriend. You just lost your husband.
Nicole
Don't look at it like that; I didn't. It was just two troubled people trying to change it up a little bit.
Jeremy
I guess.
Nicole
How is your girlfriend, anyway?
Jeremy
Don't know. Not sure if I care; both Alexis and my mom lied to me. Maybe Cassie did, too. She's been calling but I haven't answered. Every one's been calling me. My aunt Maggie, my cousin Julie, my Dad...
Nicole
Hey, at least they care. It's good to have a family like that; a lot of my family never cared.
Jeremy
Sorry, but I'm not sure if mine does, either. At least not my parents; not after how they've betrayed me.
Nicole
Life's a bitch, ain't it?
Jeremy
Damn right.
Nicole
I've really been thinking lately; I avenged my husband. His killer is dead, but it doesn't feel as great as I thought it would. Greta's gone, but I still feel...empty. I'm glad she's gone, and I can rest easy without her looking over my shoulder, but it doesn't change the fact that he's dead. The love of my life is dead. And all I ccn do is sitt this bar and drink! I probably have one or two family members that really care. And no friends, either.
Jeremy
Ha, I know what that feels like. I barely have any friends because I wasted so much time standing by my mother; I watched over her at the hospital, at home, while she lied. While she set my grandma up. So much of my life was wasted on that crap.
Nicole
We've all wasted a lot of our life.
Nicole and Jeremy continue to drink, drowning all of their sorrows in alcohol once again.

Back at Salem Place ApartmentsPosted Image

That evening, Sami walks up to her apartment in the hallway of the complex, pushing John in a wheelchair! Having just been released from the hospital, John will be living with Sami until he is back at full strength.
John
You really didn't have to do this, Samantha.
Sami
It's the least I can do after all I've done to you over the years.
John
Thank you. It means a lot to me.
Sami
I can't wait for you to meet my family! Our family, actually.
John and Sami both enter the apartment, and John smiles when sees Will, Destiny, and baby Arianna inside.
John
Will...you've gotten a lot older since the last time I saw you. You're a full fledged teenager now.
Will, smiling
Hey, Grandpa John. It's great to see you; I'm so glad you're awake. We've really needed you, with all that's been going on.
John, looking at Destiny
And who's this?
Sami
Desirae. Or something like that.
Will glares at his mother.
Will
You know her name, Mom.
Sami
Yeah, yeah, Destiny. Sorry.
John
Nice to see that you're still the same, Sami.
Destiny
Nice to meet you, Mr. Black.
John, extending his hand for her to shake
Please. Call me John. From what I've heard, it sounds like you're practically family.
Sami
Oh no she isn't.
Will, glaring at her again
Oh yeah she is.
Destiny, nervously laughing
Hi, John. Like I said, nice to meet you. I'm Will's girlfriend; I was Arianna's mom's best friend.
John
Speaking of Arianna, I want to meet her, too. Can't believe I am a great-grandfather.
Will
Sure. She's been excited to see you.
Will carefully picks up his granddaughter, and shows her to John.
Will
This is your great-grandpa, Arianna. Grandma's dad.
Will, Destiny, John, and Sami all widely smile, as Arianna looks up at John with her big, beautiful eyes.
Will
Wanna hold her?
Sami
You feel up to it?
John, nodding
Oh yes. I'd never pass up a chance to hold this beautiful girl.
Will gives her to John, who takes her. He uses all of his strength to hold her properly and securely; Sami is amazed at how John can already hold his great-granddaughter. She knows he must have a lot of will power.
John, feeling tears come to his eyes
You really are beautiful. You're amazing; you made a great little girl, Will. I know you're young, but you really did. I see a lot of your great-grandma Marlena in you, Arianna.
Sami
I've thought the same thing.
The family stands together strongly, basking in their newfound happiness.

St. Luke's CemetaryPosted Image

Jan stumbles through the large cemetary, drunk off her ass. She walks up to the grave of her deceased mother, Marlena Evans. She nearly falls down on top of the grave, but manages to keep her balance.
Jan
Spending all day at the Chez Rouge bar does wonders, Mom. Suddenly I'm here, visiting the dead mom that I never got to have a real relationship with, outside of a few bogus therapy sessions. You know, Marlena, I've lost everything. Shawn. Lucas. Josh. And now, I've even lost Bentley. Your grandson is now with your best friends, Bo and Hope. I hope you're happy.
Jan falls to her knees due to her drunken state, and holds her head as the world around her spins.
Jan
That bitch Belle is my sister. Ha ha. That thought makes this day even worse; sorry I'm only coming to visit you now. I've been really busy up until now. But now, I've got nothing better to do, so I figured I better come to see you. At least once.
As Jan speaks to Marlena's grave, none other than Alexis approaches from behind. She looks on with confusion.
Alexis
Hello?
Jan, looking at Alexis
Who the hell are you? Another long lost daughter of Marlena?
Alexis
Um, no. I'm Alexis Kefer. And you are?
Jan
Jan Spears. Jan Roberts. Jan Evans. Jan DiMera. Jan Brady. Whatever.
Alexis flashes back to her and Mimi discussing Jan Spears once, when Alexis visited Mimi in jail. Her eyes go wide, and she knows that this is her chance to prove to Jeremy that Cassie is a liar.
Alexis
Robin and Cassie can both be gone in a matter of days. I visit a cemetary to put some flowers on my old boss' grave and I strike it big. Know anything about Mimi Lockhart?
Jan
Yeah. She and I have a long history. We tortured Ghoul Girl; I blackmailed her. Good times.
Alexis takes out her cell phone, and begins to record what Jan is saying. She knows that this is her big chance.
Alexis
She's in prison now. Know anything about that?
Jan flashes back to pushing Cassie out of the window in Belle and Philip's loft, and Cassie setting Mimi up to take the fall.
Jan
Uhhh, no. Why?
Alexis
Come on, Jan! I need you to tell the truth. I thought you had something to do with that.
Jan
Why? What do you want?
Alexis
Tell the truth. I need you to tell the truth!
Jan
I...I don't know. What do I have to lose at this point?
Alexis
Yeah, what do you have to lose?
Jan
Fine; I've lost everything else. I may as well tell you this. Cassie and I set Mimi up to take the fall for that. She went to prison because of us.
Alexis
So she's innocent?
Jan
Yeah, Measles is innocent.
Alexis
Why? What happened?
Jan
Cassie hates Mimi; I hate Mimi. Cassie didn't want Mimi to get with her brother Rex, because she lied to him before. Mimi was married to the love of my life, so it was simple enough to get her out of the way. Cassie and I had different ideas though; I had a plan to get Shawn, and well...I didn't even know her at first, but I ran into her one night at Belle and Philip's loft. No one else was home. She and I got into a fight over my plans for Rex, and I ended up pushing her out the window. She made it out okay, but she saw the perfect chance to get rid of Mimi. She said that Mimi pushed her out the window, and I went along with it; the evidence lined up with Cassie's claims, and Mimi got sent to prison.
Alexis is amazed; she has Jan's confession recorded. She can finally prove that Cassie Brady is a liar.
Alexis
So it's all because of you and Cassie. Cassie's a lying, framing whore. Just like Robin.
Jan
Absolutely.
Alexis grins, knowing that she can finally pry Cassie away from Jeremy. She turns off the recorder inside her phone, and immediately darts off, while Jan continues to wallow in her pain and self-pity beside her mother's grave. Alexis is ready to destroy Cassie once and for all!

Early this year, LIS show runner, Tara Smith, told readers that “Life in Salem “was coming back to the airwaves after being on hiatus for over a year. Her writing partner ML Cooks rejoined her on the writing team. Since returning, Tara has been unable to devote the time that is needed to run LIS.
ML has created a very good long-term story document for LIS and he will continue LIS. These stories are simply to good to be wasted. ML Cooks will serve as showruuner for LIS for the foreseeable future. Tara is leaving her role as Headwriter and Executive Producer but will remain in a consulting capacity.

LIS will be launching in a few weeks. There has been a lot of confusion as to what is really going and ML promises to clear the air in coming days.

Stay tuned for previews, announcements and other clarifications.

Salem University HospitalPosted Image

Posted ImageJohn sits inside of his hospital room, continuing to recover and get better. All of his children are with him as a new day rises in Salem. John is now more coherent and able.
John
I don't understand. Why can't I see Marlena?
CarriePosted Image
I...like I said...you'll know everything soon.
All of John's children look at each other. Eric motions for some of them to step outside with him; Rex, Carrie, and Belle get up while Sami and Cassie decide to stay inside.
EricPosted Image
Okay, I know that he just woke up, and we don't want to drop all of this on him, but I don't see how we can hold off for much longer. He needs to know that Mom's gone.
BellePosted Image
I know, but I don't want to send him into shock. He was in this catatonic state for such a long time; how do we know that this won't cause a relapse?
RexPosted Image
John's recovering fast. He's a fighter, and this is going to be devastating, but I think it'll be ok. He'll be upset, but he won't relapse.
Carrie
I don't know. It's a risk, but we can't keep him in the dark forever. He won't stop asking for Marlena. Are you sure we shouldn't wait?
Eric
We're already waiting. The quicker we get this over with, the quicker John can get over Mom's death. I think we'll all feel better.
Carrie, looking at Belle
You were the one that was raised by him your entire life. You probably know him better than we do. What do you think?
Belle
Maybe Eric and Rex are right. I don't want him to relapse, but this is hard for all of us, and he'd want to know. Maybe we should tell him.
Eric
Okay. Let's do it.
All of them nod and walk back into the hospital room; Belle nods at Cassie and Sami to let them know what is going on.
Belle
Okay, Dad, we're going to tell you what happened to Mom.
John
What do you mean?
Carrie
Marlena...isn't here.
SamiPosted Image
She hasn't been for a while.
John
What are you talking about? Just tell me where my wife is.
Eric
Mom got shot. It's been a long time since it happened, and...she didn't make it. She was declared dead at the scene; I'm sorry you have to find out about this. Especially after you just woke up, but it's true.
John is stunned. He is silent for a moment, and all of his children watch in anticipation; a thick tension can be felt in the room. John simply reels from this revelation, letting a few tears fall. However, even in his weakened state, he tries to be strong.
John
Who shot her?
Rex
Some psycho named Stan. He did a lot of bad things, and was just unstable.
Cassie, looking at Sami
Supposedly.
Sami
Shut up, Cassie!
Carrie glares at them both, and the sisters shut up.
Belle
I'm so sorry, Dad. I know she was the love of your life, and she'd want you to stay strong. She'd want you to recover; she's watching over us, pushing you to survive this. I know you can.
John
Marlena is dead. My wife is dead; I've been through this before, but this time, I wasn't there. I should've been there....I should've protected her...
Carrie, leaning in to hug John
There's nothing anyone could have done. It was so quick.
John, continuing to cry
No, that's not true! I was trapped in this state because I wasn't strong enough to survive some gunshot. Maybe I could've stopped this man, but I didn't. And because of that, Marlena is dead.
Sami
That's not true!
John, sighing
I can't believe it. I'm never going to see her wake up beside me in bed again; I'm never going to see her walk down the stairs with that smile on her face. I'll never make love to her again. She and I will never have another huge fight that will end with us being more in love than before. Marlena's gone; the love of my life is dead.

Salem JailPosted Image

Posted ImageRobin is in the holdng area of the Salem Jail, about to be booked on charges for repeatedly attempting to frame Laura. She is all alone as the police make the final arrangements, and she thinks on the events of the past couple of days; she wasn't able to bring Laura down. She didn't hold up her deal with Vivian. Most importantly, her son hasn't bothered to come to see her since the trial. She hears the door open.
Robin
Please tell me that's you, Jeremy.
Mike
Posted ImageNo, sorry, it's not.
Robin, turning to face her ex
Oh, Mike. Come to gloat in my face?
Mike
Not at all, Robin. You know that I'm better than that, or at least I thought you did. I'm not sure if I know who you are.
Robin
Sounds like the thoughts I've had about you for years.
Mike
Robin, I'm sorry; I really am. I was never the best father to Jeremy, even when I tried to be. And I know I've had a lot of...entanglements with women over the years. What I don't understand is why you didn't just tell me about all of your feelings, instead of becoming bitter like this. Do you see the mess that you've created? Jeremy hates both of us now; at least he had you before you went off trying to make my mother look crazy.
Robin
For what it's worth, I am sorry.
Mike
How can I believe that? You were going to send her to a mental institution and all of a sudden you're sorry?
Robin
It's not like that. I've had a lot of time to think, Mike; letting all of that out in court did me more help than I thought it would. I...don't like Laura, or Alexis, or April. But I kept taking my anger out on the wrong people. Eventually, it all became too much and things spiraled into hell. I'm not crazy, but I do need some help; maybe some time away in jail will do me some good.
Mike, slightly surprised
I'm...glad you see it like that.
Robin, feeling tears come to her eyes
Mike, what kind of parents have we been? We have a wonderful son, and we've both driven him mad. We've let our personal lives bleed into his life so much; you slept with his girlfriend. I told him his grandmother was crazy. We're not those kind of people.
Mike, nodding sadly
I know. I've been trying to repair my relationship with him ever since I came back to Salem, but as always, it's just gotten worse. I'm not giving up, though. He's my son, and I love him; I know you do, too. That's one thing that I'm sure of about you. We've both made so many mistakes. Maybe it's time that we stop.
Robin
Something we can agree on. Finally. You know, three or four days ago I would have balked at the thought of asking you this, but...please watch over him. He's really the greatest thing to ever happen to me.
Mike is very touched by this; he would never have thought that the Robin of today would ask him to do that. He can slowly see the Robin he knew and loved returning.
Mike
I will try, Robin. I promise. I don't know if I can ever make up any pain that I put you through, but hopefully I can make it up to our son.
Robin
You know, Mike, I still remember all the good times. I know it seems like I only remember the bad times, but I remember everything before that. Falling in love with you...making love to you for the first time. You practically talked me through it; you asked me to marry you right after that. I remember those days, and they were some of the best of my life.
Mike, smiling
This is a complete 180 from yesterday morning.
Robin
Like I said, I've had a lot of time to think. And those memories were always there in the back of my mind; it was what kept me attached to you.
Mike
I loved you so much, Robin. I really did.
Robin
But I guess that's all gone now, isn't it? We're going to go away remembering each other as evil people who never stopped hurting each other.
Mike
It's hard not to, but we don't have to. When we walk out of here, we can remember the relationship we used to have; the people we used to be with each other. We can remember the good times; not the bad.
Robin
I hope so.
Mike and Robin simply look at each other, without any words; they look into their eyes and see the people that they fell in love with. They don't see the people that they grew to argue with constantly, but they see the good, genuine people that they were. A guard enters.
Guard
It's time to go, Dr. Jacobs.
Robin
Well, I guess it's time to get ready for a life behind bars; I know this seems insane to say after how I yelled at you yesterday and have treated you ever since I came back to Salem, but I think I'll miss you.
Mike smiles and nods, and he actually leans in and hugs his ex one last time. Both shed a few more tears as they say goodbye.
Robin
By the way, before I go, there is something you should know.
Mike
What is it?
Robin
A day or two before the trial, Vivian Alamain hired me to sabatoge your family. She wanted Laura to get locked up in a padded cell for life; I was planning on doing it anyway, so I said yes, but it was strange. I don't know why, but it sounded like she wanted to come after your family. Watch out for her, Mike.
Mike, narrowing his eyes
I'll do that. Thank you.
Robin heads for the door, and shares one last look with Mike, before walking out with the door. He crosses his arms and sighs.
Mike
Goodbye, Robin.

Cheatin' HeartPosted Image

Posted ImageJeremy is at the bar at the Cheatin' Heart, having a bottle of beer. He sits, continuing to think over how his mother lied to him over and over; she tried to make his grandmother look insane. And he fell for it. The bar is mostly empty, as it is the middle of the day. However, someone enters, and Jeremy looks up to see Nicole Walker.
NicolePosted Image
And here I thought I was the only one who liked a drink this early.
Jeremy
Who are you? You look familiar.
Nicole, taking a seat and ordering her drink
Nicole Baines, but Nicole Walker would probably ring a bell.
Jeremy
Jeremy Horton.
Nicole
You know, for all the saintly Hortons around, a lot of them sure are alcoholics. Maggie, Lucas, Hope. Now you.
Jeremy
I'm not an alcoholic, but after the hell I've been through, anyone would be driven to drink.
Nicole
I know what you mean; I've always liked my booze, but lately, I've been drinking even more.
Jeremy doesn't say anything, and both sit in silence for a moment, drinking. Finally, Nicole speaks again.
Nicole
Okay, you first. What happened?
Jeremy
Why would you care?
Nicole
Listen, I am a widow who has no where to be. No job, no friends, barely any family. I have nothing else to do, so why don't we swap stories about our crappy lives?
Jeremy
Fine. What do I have to lose at this point? See, first I get this great girlfriend; I take her out on nice dates and really am into her. Then, after we've only been going out for a few months, I find out she slept with my dad, who I had a crappy relationship with anyway. So my mom comes back to town, and acts like she's so protective of me and loves me so much. Then, she sets my grandma up to look crazy, and is totally okay with lying to me about it, no matter how much I grill her; then, my dad's new fling gets her to break down on the stand and admit that all of the [!@#$%^&*] she pulled was because she still carried a torch for my dad but hated him or something. So both of my parents are morons.
Nicole
Ouch. I know how it feels to have a mom who says she cares about you, but is really bad at showing it. It makes it so easy to shove them out of your life and forget about them.
Jeremy
You know, why are all women such liars? All they do is betray you and say they care, but they sleep with your dad. They try to destroy your family. I've got another girlfriend now, but I don't even know what to think any more. Not after this.
Nicole
Okay, I've told some...lies in my lifetime. I've made a lot of mistakes, but it's not just a woman thing. Men lie too.
Jeremy
Yeah, my dad sure as hell isn't innocent in any of this.
Nicole
Men can be just as much of a pain in the ass as women can be; I've gone through a lot, and every relationship fell apart. The guy usually loved another woman more than me. Then, I finally found the one man that loved me for me. I didn't know him for that long, but we were happy right off the bat; there was never another woman. Never any doubt...we fell in love and spent several months being so happy. We got married and were celebrating when it all fell apart; a psycho killed him. He got poisoned on our wedding night.
Jeremy
Damn. That sounds bad.
Nicole
It was. It still is, because it still hurts. I'm still trying to get over that; that bitch who killed him was just trying to get back at me. She got killed recently, and damnit, I'm glad. Do you know what hell that woman put me through? Sure, she and I fought over Eric a lot, and I did blackmail her out of town, but she's done worse to me. She locked me in some secret room, shot me and left me for dead, and then killed my husband.
Jeremy
Who was she?
Nicole
Greta Von Amberg. Some princess; she used to actually be...ehh...sane. Always a big ass pain, but she had a functioning mind. Then she got rabies, and do you know what was bad about that? It was some miracle form of rabies; she survived for MONTHS after getting rabies! Rabies! It made her go crazy, but didn't kill her. Just my luck. At least she's dead now.
Jeremy
That's the woman that stabbed Alexis. Alexis was right about my mom, but that doesn't mean I forgive her for what she did, either. She's been pining for me for such a long time, but I don't want to take her back. I don't know what I want or who I trust any more; it's too confusing at this point.
Nicole
Yeah, that's kind of how my life is too. No one to trust. You know what? I'm sick of sitting at this bar; let's go get something to eat. We don't have anyone else to see, right?
Jeremy
You know what? Sure. Let's go.
Jeremy and Nicole get up from the bar and leave together.

Salem Place ApartmentsPosted Image

Posted ImageSami is inside her apartment after coming home from the hospital, and Will and Destiny are both at school; she is alone with her granddaughter, Arianna. After making the baby's bottle, she sits down and holds Arianna, letting her drink the milk.
Sami
It was really hard telling your great-grandpa today about your great-grandma, but I am glad we did. Now he knows, and he can let it sink in and move past it...you'll get to meet him real soon, okay? He's recovering fast; I know you'll love him. I...well I haven't always, but he is my...father. I have to forget the past.
Sami looks down at her beautiful granddaughter, smiling at her. She can see so much of Will in her; so much of herself in her.
Sami
You're so little, and you still look like so many people in our family. I don't know what your mommy looked like, but I see a lot of your daddy in you. A lot of me in you, and a lot of your grandpa, too.
Sami sighs, thinking of Lucas. Will had told her about him going to jail for murdering Greta.
Sami
I'm...sorry you won't really get to know him. Lucas and I never worked out, but he was a great guy, you know? A great dad. I really did love him in my own way. How he ended up falling in love with people like Jan Spears and Eugenia Willens, I'll never know. And I know that it sounds bad that he went to jail for murder, but he was protecting his family from a lunatic; he did the right thing. Not like your other grandma, who killed someone in cold blood and deserves to rot for it. It's totally different...I hope he'll get out someday and be able to watch you grow up.
Talking about Lucas leads to Sami thinking about her past, and all of the mistakes she made.
Sami
I had your daddy when I was young, too. I guess he was kind of...taking after his mom in some ways. And I never was the best mom to your daddy, either; I let my schemes and desires get in the way of being a good mother. I was so young and blind, but I always loved him. From the day he was born, I loved him more than anything else in the world, even people like Austin and Lucas. And it's the same way with you and him, Arianna; you are so much more important to him than anything else. Even....what's-her-face. That girl he's dating. The girl who I am very graciously letting stay here, in my home; she better be good to him.
Sami smiles again at her granddaughter.
Sami
I'm going to make up for my mistakes now; it's time. I'm going to lead my family on; all you and Will have now is me. With Lucas gone, it's even more important that I step up. I'm going to be a great mom, and an even better grandma. I promise.
Sami looks up to the ceiling.
Sami
Mom, I know you're up there watching down on all of us...watching down on John. Watching down on me. Please give me the strength to be strong for my family, like you were for yours.

Later in the evening, at Chez RougePosted Image

As nightfall begins in the town of Salem, many of the Hortons are gathering at Maggie's resteraunt for a party to celebrate Laura's newfound freedom. Maggie and Abe are inside with Laura as everything is being set up.
AbePosted Image
It is so good to see you out of jail, Laura. Now you're back where you belong.
Laura, smilingPosted Image
Thank you so much, Abe. It feels so good to be out in the world again and out of that horrible cell. Finally, everyone knows that I'm not crazy, and Robin got her comeuppance. We can move on. Thank you for throwing me this party, Maggie.
MaggiePosted Image
Something this big should be celebrated! Almost all of our family and dearest friends will be here to celebrate you being set free.
Laura, frowning
Except Jeremy. I am so worried for him. He rushed out of the courtroom yesterday and we haven't heard from him since.
Abe
Jeremy just needs some time to himself; he's a smart young man. This has to be devastating to him; he finds out that his mother has been lying to him this entire time. It would be hard for anyone to get past this.
Laura
I know. No matter how much I hate Robin, she is Jeremy's mother, and he really loved her. Both Alexis and Robin lied to him; it's all caving in on him. I trust my grandson, but I don't want him to do anything drastic.
Maggie
We know Jeremy; I am worried, too, and we need to find him, but right now, we just need to celebrate. He's an adult; he can take care of himself. Tonight is about you, Laura.
Mike and April walk in through the front doors. They immediately approach Maggie, Abe, and Laura.
Laura
Michael, you look...concerned. Is it Jeremy?
Mike
Yes, I'm worried about my son, and we need to find him. But that's not all. It's about Vivian.
Maggie
Oh no.
Laura
What has that ruthless bitch done now?
Mike
I said goodbye to Robin today; she's been taken to prison. But before she left, she told me that before your trial started, Vivian hired Robin to make sure that you were committed again. She wanted her to distract the Horton family and get you out of the way; I don't know why, but it worries me. Why is Vivian after us? I mean, Mom, this is insane. She took the hospital from us and now she wants you in a mental hospital?
Maggie and Abe are stunned, but Laura is not. She simply stands strong.
Laura
Remember the letter I sent to Vivian after I found out that she took the hospital from us? I told her that once I got out, I was coming for her, and I still plan to do that. This shows that Vivian sees our family as a threat, and in my opinion, that's good. I'm not happy that she hired Robin to do her dirty work, but it only makes me more determined. Robin has fallen down and Vivian is next.
AprilPosted Image
Laura, please, I know that Vivian's done a lot to your family lately, but I just got you out of one mess. Don't get into another so quickly.
Maggie
April's right, Laura. I am angry at Vivian too; she's terrorizing Salem. But we have to be careful. We can't stoop to her level.
Laura
I refuse to sit back and watch Vivian destroy everything that every good hearted person in Salem holds dear. Vivian took OUR hospital from us! That hospital has become Tom and Alice's legacy. Michael, you were a brilliant chief of staff! The best that it had in years! I refuse to let a tyrant get away with just snatching it away from our family like that; we are the Hortons. We are good people. Vivian tried to put me right back into the place that she busted me out of. She was willing to let me go down for something I didn't do JUST so she could keep her reign strong! Most of that was Robin's fault, yes, but Vivian took advantage of Robin's lies. Robin is getting punished for it, and so will Vivian. Mark my words.
Abe
Laura, calm down; tonight isn't about Vivian. It's about you and your happiness, like we said. Let's save this for tomorrow.
Mike
I think I agree, Mom.
Laura
Maybe you're right, but this problem can't wait for too long.
Outside of Chez Rouge, Bill walks up to the entrance, and hears someone approaching from behind. He turns around, and is taken off guard by the sight of his ex-lover, Kate!
KatePosted Image
Bill...I heard you were back in town. I still can't believe it, though. It's been so long.
BillPosted Image
Well, Kate, you are a sight for sore eyes. You're still as beautiful as ever.
Kate smiles, staring at Bill. She remembers their affair and all of the craziness that spawned because of it, but she also remembers that he was one of the very few men that actually loved her.
Kate
Thank you, Bill. I didn't expect you to be so kind to me.
Bill
The past is the past, and we share a son together. I know that things can get awkward, but for Lucas' sake, I can't let them get too awkward. I'm just disappointed that my son goes to jail when I finally return to Salem.
Kate, frowning
How is Lucas? Do you know?
Bill
I have visited him, and he's doing well. He's worried for his family, as any man should be, but he's holding up. Why haven't you been to see him?
Kate
Lucas...Lucas and I aren't exactly on speaking terms.
Bill, shocked
What? He's much closer to you than he is me.
Kate
I've done a lot of bad things, Bill. I did something that I really shouldn't have.
Bill
I heard about Peter Blake, if that's what you're talking about.
Kate nods. Bill walks over to Kate and puts his hands comfortingly on her shoulders.
Bill
I'm not saying what you did was justified, but we all make mistakes. You know about mine better than anyone. Lucas will come around eventually.
Kate, tearing up slightly
He's such a good man, Bill. He's grown into such a wonderful, family man. He is so strong; he killed Greta because he was protecting his family. Protecting a baby that wasn't even his own. He's turned out so much like you, and it's a lot better than turning out like me.
Bill
I think Lucas turned out better than either of us put together.
Kate
Would...would you mind if I came inside? I know this party is for Laura, but I came to see you, and...I don't know, it would just be nice.
Bill
What would Laura think about that?
Kate
Laura and I are not friends. I don't think we are even on good terms, but I did comfort her one night after Robin accused her of trying to kill her. I'd hope that would at least warrant us being civil for one good night.
Bill nods, and both he and Kate enter. Laura watches from the other end of the room, shocked and frustrated that Bill and his ex-mistress walked inside together.
Laura, taking a deep breath
I have bigger things to worry about right now...I still don't like Kate, even if she did give me a pep talk, but I will let her be here. Just because of that. She doesn't have any bearing on my life any more.
Mike is at the drink table, pouring himself some punch. Kate walks over and pours herself some.
Kate
Hello, Mike.
Mike
Kate. Talk about the last person I expected to see here.
Kate
Well, I wanted to see your father, because of what is going on with Lucas right now. And...I think Laura and I can be civil for one night.
Mike
That's good; the last thing any of us need is more drama. How are you?
Kate
For what it's worth, things are going well; the good news is that my lawyers have mostly worked through the charges for Peter's murder. It looks like I'm going to get off for it.
Mike, chuckling
I'm sorry; I'm really happy to hear that, actually. It just amazes me how people who actually orchestrate murders can get off so much easier than the ones who are framed.
Kate
Oh, I apologize. I didn't think of...oh, nevermind.
Mike
It's alright, really. I think you are a good woman, Kate. You did a lot to my parents, but I think you are a good woman.
Kate, impressed
Thank you. I'm surprised to hear that; I really do regret Peter's death. I should never have tried to kill Tony.
Mike
We all have times of weakness. I've never done something that bad, but I still have no place to condemn anyone.
Kate
Thank you. You really shouldn't be this kind to me.
Mike, smiling
It's alright. Other than that, how are you?
Kate
I don't even know; one son is out of jail, and another is in. It is horrible for a mother to go through that. I just want Lucas to survive this. And my business just got taken from me.
Mike
Let me guess. Vivian Alamain?
Kate, rolling her eyes
Who else?
Mike
She took the hospital from the Hortons. She's on a rampage and needs to be stopped.
Kate
Agreed. Absolutely.
Mike
And give Lucas my best. He and I haven't talked much, but he is still my brother, and I care about him. I need to visit him myself soon, but there is so much going on. I'm worried about my own son; he just found out that his mother is a liar, and his relationship with me has never been good. I don't even know where he is now.
Kate
I hope everything is alright. When you are a parent and you love your children so much, but you end up doing them more harm than good...it is never a good feeling.
Mike
Then they won't listen to you, no matter how much you beg them to. They just keep ignoring you.
Kate
And all you want is for them to believe you. Believe that you regret your mistakes; believe that you are so sorry and want to improve.
Mike
Exactly.
Mike and Kate look at each other for a moment; it is a look of hurt between two people that just wish their children would forgive and accept them. They are glad to finally find someone that fully understands their problems and wrong-doings. As they look at each other, April approaches from the other end of the room, but stops when she sees their look. She doesn't even know who Kate is, but she sighs.
April
Here we go again.
Bo and Hope enter Chez Rouge, and both walk over to Laura, Maggie, and Abe.
Maggie
Bo, Hope, it's so good to see you two! How is Bentley?
HopePosted Image
He's doing great, Aunt Maggie. He'll be able to come to his new home soon, and we're in the process of adopting him. We made it clear to Jan that she's out of his life.
Laura
That is fantastic! There is a lot to celebrate right now.
BoPosted Image
There sure is; we are finally getting involved in our grandson's life. The way we should have been from the start.
Maggie
Well, this isn't about the past; it's about the present and the future.
Bo
Congratulations on being set free, Laura. We were really happy to find out that justice had been served. Trust me, Robin is going away for a long time.
Laura
Thank you, Bo. I am so much more relieved with that out of my hair. There are still some things on my mind, but the big problem is gone now.
Bo glances around to see Kristen enter Chez Rouge! He is stunned, and she looks in his direction. He knows that she has come here to try to win him back. Abe also spots Kristen, and he wheels away from the ladies, motioning for Bo to follow him.
Abe
What is Kristen doing here, Bo? She and Laura have never really been good friends.
Bo, sighing
I know why she's here. I ended my affair with her yesterday; I'm determined to get my life back on track. Get my family stable, and that starts with stabilizing my marriage. Megan's out of my life, and so is Kristen. I...think Kristen is a great person, but we can be nothing more than two people investigating a murder.
Abe
I am glad to hear that, if you're sure that it's what you want.
Bo
What do you mean?
Abe
If you are sure that your attraction to Kristen is that small. Because if it's big, you will end up going back to her.
Bo
You know me. Hope is my soulmate, and I love her more than anything else in the world. She, my daughters, and my grandson are all important to me. Much more important than Kristen.
Abe
That is good, especially for Hope's sake. It is never fun to get cheated on; I know that first hand. But getting rid of a DiMera is hard work. Look at how hard it was to get Megan out of your hair. And we all know Kristen's history with John.
Bo
I know. I need to go get rid of her.
Bo walks away from Abe, and heads in Kristen's direction. Hope turns her head and sees him going to talk to her, she turns away but sighs, wondering if something is going on between her husband and Kristen.
Bo
Kristen, what are you doing here? This is a party to celebrate Laura's freedom.
KristenPosted Image
I had to see you; I couldn't let you storm out like that, Bo. I don't want to sound psychotic, but I can't let you go. I tried to stay away at first, but then this affair started and...I don't know. I'm not willing to give it up. Hope is a good woman; a wonderful woman, and she does need you, but so do I. I just...I just want you to re-consider.
Bo
Kristen, I'm sorry. I understand your feelings, but we can't continue this affair. It's over.
Kristen shakes her head, uncertain on where to go from here with Bo; she understands his obligations, but can't think of letting him go again. She did once, but she's not willing to again. The connection between the two is far too strong to just forget it.
At the front door, Andre, Valentine, and Nicholas all enter.
ValentinePosted Image
I cannot believe we're resorting to dining with the Horton family of all people!
Andre
Please, Valentine. It's a chance for a free meal, and with how you've been acting lately, you have no right in choosing where we eat. You are lucky I'm eating with you at all.
NicholasPosted Image
Besides, it's a chance to scope out anyone and everyone that could help with Vivian. This place is swarming with her enemies; that's why I decided to come. It's an opportunity.
Valentine, sighing
I suppose. I'm sick of my older sister being the center of attention of everything.
Andre
Once she's gone, she won't be.
The three go to get some drinks, and next, Celeste enters. She walks over to Laura, Hope, and Maggie.
Laura
Hi, Celeste.
Celeste
Hello, dahlings; thank you for inviting me. I know I am not exactly your friend, but I'm honored.
Maggie
Oh, please, Celeste, you've been a friend of all of us for years. Of course we'd invite you!
Laura
Maggie's absolutely right.
Laura looks around at the array of guests that are at this party; she sees Kate, Andre, Valentine, Nicholas, Kristen.
Laura
You are one of the few people here that I can actually call my friend.
Celeste
Yes, dahling, it seems like an interesting guest list.
Suddenly, the front doors fly open once again when none other than Vivian barges in!
Hope
And the most interesting one has just arrived.
Everyone is shocked to see Vivian there, who just grins.
VivianPosted Image
Evening, everybody. Let's get this party started, shall we?

#456: All Bitches Fall Down

Posted by aMLCproduction , 25 April 2011 - - - - - - · 53 views

Salem CourthousePosted Image

At the courthouse, almost all of the Hortons, Alexis, and Robin sit and watch as Laura goes on trial for trying to kill Robin. Judge Fitzpatrick looks at Laura.

Judge Fitzpatrick

Dr. Horton, you have been accused of three counts of attempted murder by Dr. Robin Jacobs. How do you plead?

AprilPosted Image

My client pleads not guilty, your honor.

Judge Fitzpatrick

Prosecution, call your first witness.

Paul McDaneld, an ADA that is trying Laura's case, stands up.

McDaneld

Prosecution calls Alexis Kefer to the stand.

Alexis heads to the stand, and takes oath, before McDaneld begins his questioning.

McDaneld

Miss Kefer, would you say that Dr. Jacobs' description of the events of that fateful night are accurate?

AlexisPosted Image

Hell no! Robin and I fought, and she fell; that was all. Laura was never even there.

McDaneld

Now, Miss Kefer, we have reason to doubt your credibility.

Alexis

Excuse me?

McDaneld

You and Dr. Jacobs have feuded ever since she returned to town, correct?

Alexis

Yes, that's true.

McDaneld

Then, why take her side in something like this? Why not side with the defendent in a continued attempt to get her grandson back?

April

Objection! Relevance!

Judge Fitzpatrick

Overruled.

McDaneld

I am simply making a point that all of this ties back into that: Miss Kefer carrying a torch for the defendent's grandson, Dr. Jacobs' son. Dr. Jacobs did not want you with her son, correct?

Alexis

Yes, but-

McDaneld

Then it makes perfect sense as to why you would lie under oath and not give the correct version of the story. You slept with Dr. Jacobs' ex-husband while you were with their son. In fact, you originally came to Salem when EJ Wells hired you to seduce Lucas Roberts, correct?

Alexis, getting angry

How do you know that?!

McDaneld

All of this puts your credibility in doubt, Miss Kefer. Perhaps you won't be the best witness in this case. No more questions.

He goes and sits down, and April stands up.

April

Miss Kefer, could you perhaps give the court room a recap of this entire situation? What started all of this madness?

Alexis

Well, I was dating Jeremy, Mike and Robin's son. And...I really did love him. Then I did something I shouldn't have; I got drunk and slept with Mike. Jeremy found out, and broke up with me; then his mother zoomed into town. Robin basically took charge, hating on me every chance she got. Laura stood up for me and Mike; she told Robin off countless times, and even gave me some advice. That pissed her off, so she's trying to get her thrown back into some sanitarium.

April

So it would be fair to say that Dr. Jacobs' accusations stem simply from a grudge?

Alexis, smirking at Robin

Absolutely.

April

I think all of this sums Dr. Jacobs' plot perfectly. She was angry at Miss Kefer and Dr. Horton for hurting her son, and my client had a different opinion and didn't have a problem speaking her mind. Dr. Jacobs saw her as a problem and wanted her out of the way. No further questions.

Alexis gets off of the stand, and next up is Laura. McDaneld questions her first.

McDaneld

Dr. Horton, you have a long history of mental problems. Mind telling us when they first started?

April

Objection! This man's questions have little relevance to the case at hand!

McDaneld

Your honor, this case is all about determining whether Dr. Horton has indeed gone insane or not. We must examine her history of mental illness so you can make a proper judgement.

Judge Fitzpatrick

Overruled, Counselor Ramirez. Answer the question, doctor.

LauraPosted Image

It...was many years ago. After I had my beloved daughter, Jennifer, I suffered from depression; it is common for mothers. It increased when my husband had two affairs; one brought him a son, and that was what drove me over the edge. I endangered my daughter, and lapsed into a catatonic state.

McDaneld

And you were trapped in this catatonic state for many years, correct?

Laura

Yes, but that was because I was being fed drugs by the santarium. I know where you're heading, counselor, and I'm going to stop it; I am fully recovered. I have been for years; many people, such as Stefano DiMera and Peter Blake, have tried to make me look like I've relapsed and have gone insane. Robin is only the latest person to add to the list, but not once have I truly been insane. It is simply because of outside forces.

McDaneld

Alright. Then give us your description of the events that took place.

Laura

I wasn't even present when Robin hit her head; the second so called event was during an argument that we had. We were arguing over all of this, and she...she just pushed me too far. I didn't mean to put my hands around her neck, it just happened.

McDaneld

So you are admitting that if pushed too far, you can snap again?

Laura

NO! I didn't even snap; I was not trying to strangle Robin. It was a simple moment of weakness.

McDaneld

I think all of these events were moments of weakness. When you tried to kill her, when you tried to strangle her, and when you pushed her down the stairs.

Laura

I did not push her down the stairs! Robin threw HERSELF down the stairs after we argued about her actual motives. She wanted to set me up again, and it worked. I can only hope that Judge Fitzpatrick sees through that.

McDaneld

Why would Dr. Jacobs be so petty? She could have died or gotten seriously injured from such a drastic fall. It seems a bit far for a grudge.

Laura

Because that's who Robin is. I didn't know her when she was with my son, but the Robin of today is very petty. She will stop at nothing to get what she wants; she's not being protective of Jeremy. She's just looking out for her own interests.

McDaneld

It seems you have some malicious feelings towards her; I think this just proves that Dr. Horton did try to kill Dr. Jacobs. All three times. I rest my case.

Judge Fitzpatrick

Miss Ramirez, would you like to cross examine the witness?

April

No, your honor, I wouldn't. I would like to get a move on and call my witness to the stand: Dr. Robin Jacobs herself.

Laura steps down, and Robin calmly heads up to the stand and takes oath.

April

Dr. Jacobs, before you returned to Salem because of Miss Kefer's actions, would you mind re-counting your last time in Salem?

McDaneld

Objection! Now Miss Ramirez is being irrelevant.

April

He got to recount his history, now I need to recount mine.

Judge Fitzpatrick

Once again, overruled.

RobinPosted Image

What would my last time in Salem have to do with Laura? She wasn't even here when I last visited.

April

Answer the question, Dr. Jacobs

Robin, scowling

Fine. I came to Salem many years ago, shortly after leaving town, to introduce Mike to his son. That was all.

April

Ah, but it wasn't all, was it?

Robin

What do you mean?

April

You returned because you had hopes of rekindling your flame with Dr. Horton.

Robin

That's insane.

McDaneld

This is going no where, your honor!

April

Let me get to my point!

Judge Fitzpatrick

Make it quick, Miss Ramirez.

April

You returned to Salem to re-kindle your relationship with Dr. Horton. Yes or no.

Robin

N-

April

You are under oath.

Robin

Fine. Mike and I never exactly....closed the door entirely on our relationship. I left him because I caught him praying, when he agreed to convert to Judaism to marry me. But then I found out I was pregnant, and I got over our differences of religion...I wanted him back.

April

And what happened?

Robin

You know what happened, you bitch. You were the cause.

April

Ah, our first sign of Dr. Jacobs being jealous. So you could not re-unite with Dr. Horton because he was involved with me, correct?

Robin

Yes. I left town because he had moved on.

April

So you never got over him.

Robin

I never said that.

April

You left Salem with very unresolved feelings for Dr. Horton; you two couldn't put things in the past. So it would be safe to say that you carried those feelings around with you.

Robin

No. Absolutely not!

Judge Fitzpatrick

Counselor, I fail to see how this has anything to do with this trial.

April

Oh, but it does. Dr. Jacobs, I believe that you still carry a torch for Dr. Michael Horton; I believe that you came back to Salem because you were jealous that he slept with Alexis Kefer.

Robin

That's not true! It was because of my son!

April

That's what you've tried to tell yourself, isn't it? That's what you've tried to tell everyone around you, isn't it? You've put on a mask to everyone, acting like you are just an over-protective mother. And this was the basis of your last argument with Laura, was it not? When you threw yourself down those stairs at Maggie Horton's house? Laura finally figured you out; she called you out, and you couldn't stand it.

Robin

Laura pushed me down those stairs. She had no regard-

April

That is a lie and you know it. All of this is not only because you love your son, but because you still have feelings for Mike. You hate it, but you do, and it has been the basis of every single action that you've done since the day you came back to this town.

Robin

How dare you. What about you, huh? You randomly return to represent Laura in this trial? You're doing the same damn thing; it didn't take a day before you were back in Mike's bed, April. At least with me, I stood my ground against him. You and him are already back together, just like old times.

April

And that burns you so much, doesn't it? It hurts you; just like it hurt you that Alexis and Mike slept together. You framed Laura for this crime because she took sides with the woman that slept with YOUR ex! Not because she cheated on your son, she slept with your ex! Everything you have done is been out of spite; this farce of a charge is out of spite, because Laura screwed with your marvelous plan to keep Jeremy under your wing. And you keep him under your wing and away from his father because you are trying to bury those feelings, aren't you? You are angry at Mike for everything he's done, while you've loved him. You are angry at him for sleeping with Alexis. For sleeping with me, for-

Robin, finally screaming

ALRIGHT, DAMNIT, ALRIGHT! It's true! I set Laura up all three times. I still carried a torch for Mike.

Everyone in the court room is stunned, and Jeremy's eyes go wide. He looks from Alexis, to Laura, to Robin.

JeremyPosted Image

Mom, no...

April

Finally.

Mike, standing upPosted Image

Robin, is that true?!

Robin

Yes, Mike, it's true. For years, I have tried to put you behind me; I've tried to forget about you. When I found out that you were with April all those years ago, I knew it. I knew that it was over, and so I tried to just put it all behind me. But then you moved to Israel to try to be close to your son, and my hopes got up again. April broke it off with you, and I wondered if maybe we could be a family. Ha, fat chance. As quick as you came to Israel, you went back to Salem, and we didn't get a word from you for YEARS! Years, damnit; I had your son but we barely got a phone call. Then, all of a sudden, you show up again, and guess what? You have another fiancee! And you want to be close to Jeremy again, so you see him, sometimes...but of course, all of your attention is on Carrie. We watched from a distance as you two were so happy...and I wanted to get over you, but you were right there, with the woman that was going to be your wife. Then she left, but that didn't change much; you stuck around for a little while, before taking off again. All of this tortured me, Mike! It put me through so much misery; could I have you, or could I not?! So Jeremy decides to move to Salem to be close with his family, and later on, what do I find out? That you slept with his girl friend! I come back, and then your mother gets on MY case, when I was the one that had been hurt constantly! By you! I tried to deny my feelings, I tried to get rid of them, but you kept yanking my chain. And now, you're back with April. Do you know how much that hurts me?! I finally had enough; I set your mother up. I did it because I was tired of people taking your side; taking whores like Alexis' side. And I did it...because...

Robin stops, getting choked up as she is overwhelmed with emotion.

MaggiePosted Image

Maybe we should get her out of here.

Jeremy

NO! I want to here this. This...this is insane. Why else, mom? Why else would you do something so horrible to my grandma?!

Robin, in tears

Because I wanted to get back at your father. I hated that I loved him...I hated it, so I thought that maybe this would help me get over it; framing his mother. Maybe this would put that bitch away and I could put your father through something like he put me through.

JuliePosted Image

That is insane! You love Mike so you frame his mother and try to make her look insane?!

Alexis

It's who Robin is.

Mike

No, no, it's not. This is not the woman I married; I married someone kind and loving. Someone who wasn't so petty like this. Robin, I've made a lot of mistakes, and I am sorry...but if you had feelings for me, you should have just told me! I've given you plenty of chances; remember our argument at the hospital? You could have solved this in a way totally different than this!

Jeremy

I thought I could trust you, Mom! I've asked you over and over if my grandma really tried to kill you, and you assured me that you only wanted her to get better! You made me believe you!

Robin

Jeremy, I love you with all of my heart. Yes, I did come back to Salem because I was furious that Mike had slept with another woman; it made all of my emotions from the past come roaring back. But I also did it because I DID know you were in pain. I wanted to help you and get you away from people like Mike and Alexis! People that make you love them but lead you on; people that make you want to go to the ends of the Earth for them but make you want to throttle them!

Mike

I have never been the best father, I take responsibility for that, but I've tried to fix it. I've tried to make it better, and instead of embracing that, you said my mother tried to kill you, simply because of a vendetta and because she disagreed with you! You left me in the first place, Robin. And you never told me anything else; what did you expect me to do?!

Laura

You're even worse than I thought, Robin! Jeremy, do you see now?! Do you see what I've been trying to tell you all along?!

Jeremy

I don't know what to think! Mom, you were there for me when my dad wasn't...but now, you've screwed me over too! Both of you have never done anything for me!

Alexis, running to his side

Jeremy...

Jeremy

And neither have you! Get away from me! I need to get out of here.

Mike

Jeremy!

Jeremy darts out of the court room, and Robin quickly gets off the stand to go after him, but she is grabbed by the baliff.

Judge Fitzpatrick

I'm puting an end to this circus right now. Dr. Laura Horton, you obviously are not guilty of these charges; you are free to go. On behalf of the town of Salem, I apologize for putting you through all of this. Dr. Robin Jacobs, I hereby order your arrest.

Many in the court room breathe a sigh of relief, and Laura just sits at the table, not knowing what to think.

Laura

Finally, I'm free...everyone knows that Robin's a liar. This nightmare is over!

Episode#456: All Bitches Fall Down

Written by: Tara Smith and ML Cooks

Alamain MansionPosted Image

Nicholas is alone at the Alamain Mansion, the home of the once great Alamain family, when he hears a knock at the door. He answers it to see Philip Kiriakis!

NicholasPosted Image

Uh, can I help you?

Philip, walking right inPosted Image

The name's Philip Kiriakis. We have a lot to discuss.

Nicholas

Kiriakis...as in Victor Kiriakis? Wait, Philip Kiriakis...that name sounds familiar.

Philip

And it should.

Nicholas

You're Belle's ex-husband. You kidnapped her and her daughter and then stalked Belle. Shouldn't you be in jail?

Philip

I've done my time. Besides, prison can't keep a Kiriakis man down for long.

Nicholas

Well, what the hell do you want with me?

Philip

Justin told me that you'd been dating Belle; when I talked to her, it sounded like you'd gotten her pretty upset. Rumor is that you two had some big argument.

Nicholas

How is that any of your business?

Philip

Belle is my ex-wife; I need to make up for all that I did to her. She deserves a man who loves her and treats her right. What did you do to her?

Nicholas

You must have some pretty big balls to walk into the ALAMAIN Mansion and tell me how to treat a woman. Not that I care about Belle anyway; she left me out in the cold. She refused to help me stop YOUR mother.

Philip

My mother? You mean the woman that you tried to sleep with?

Nicholas

No, the one that gave birth to you. Vivian Alamain.

Philip

Ha. And here I thought you were close to your aunt; I can see why you're not, though. That bitch has taken over this entire town and is destroying my father's legacy. But for you to ask Belle to do something like that? Pretty low.

Nicholas

Yeah, you've got no place to talk. You kidnapped her and threatened her.

Philip

I never expected Belle to do anything for me; you thought that she would use her power at Titan to help you like that? Belle's too good for that.

Nicholas

I thought Belle loved me. If she loved me, she would have done it for me, no matter what. That's what lovers do for each other.

Philip

You must not know Belle then; the Belle that I was married to was a good woman. A woman who was also perfect and wouldn't commit a crime for anyone; she stands up for what she believes in. The fact that you left her shows what a jackass you are.

Nicholas

What was I supposed to do?

Philip

You should've stood by her.

Nicholas

You didn't do that. She told me everything about what you did; practice what you preach.

Philip

I'm willing to bet that I was much better to Belle than you ever were. Especially with how crappy you've treated her lately. Watch your step, man. Hurt Belle like that again and you'll answer to me.

Philip walks out of the Alamain Mansion, leaving an angry Nicholas in his wake.

Salem University HospitalPosted Image

Bo stands outside his grandson, Bentley's, room. He watches as he sleeps peacefully, recovering from being shot at such a young age. Bo can't believe what he has been through, and what is going on to his entire family. Hope walks up to him.

BoPosted Image

Fancy Face, I thought you were going to be at the court house for a while?

HopePosted Image

I was, but it ended a little quicker than expected. I swear, it was an all out mess. Robin broke down on the stand and confessed to setting Laura up; apparently she was never over Mike, and she ranted at him for what he's put her and Jeremy through over the years. It's insanity, but good for Laura.

Bo

Poor Jeremy. Finding out that your mother isn't the perfect woman you think she is can be hard; it takes a lot to get over that, but he will, eventually. I know.

Hope

I know you do...we've been through a lot, haven't we?

Bo

Definitely, but it's all...it's all going to get better. For Laura and Jeremy. For us.

Hope, sighing

I'd really like that.

Bo stares at his wife, knowing that in order to get their lives back on track, he has to end his affair with Kristen. It may hurt him to do it, but he has to.

Hope

So, how's Bentley?

Bo

Doing great; even better than they hoped. He'll be released soon and then he can come home with us.

Hope

That'll be great; I feel horrible, Brady. In all of this chaos, we've totally forgotten about our own grandchildren. Have we even visited Claire? And we let our grandson live with a lunatic for so long...

Bo

I know; I confronted Jan once, but it led to nothing because of all that's happened. But at least he had Lucas, and now we can change everything. We're going to put our family back together, Fancy Face, I promise. We're going to see Claire more often. We're going to adopt Bentley and make him a part of our lives.

Hope, smiling

That'll be great. It really will...hopefully the worst has passed.

She looks at her grandson through the window.

Hope

Bentley Brady...has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

JanPosted Image

Hell no!

Bo and Hope both turn around to see Jan approaching. Both give each other a worried look.

Jan

The only way that his last name would have ever been Brady would have been if Shawn had made him Bentley Brady, and made me Jan Brady. But that didn't happen, so he's Bentley Spears. What do you two think you are doing here?

Hope

It's over, Jan. We've made the mistake of not keeping a closer eye on Bentley and that ends now; he's our grandson. Lucas asked us to raise Bentley.

Jan

Lucas has NO jurisdiction over MY son.

Bo

And it's what Shawn would want too, you know. He wouldn't want you raising him.

Jan

That's NOT true.

Hope

I am sure it will be easy to convince a judge to give custody to us. We are adopting Bentley and making him a part of our family as soon as possible.

Jan

No. I am Bentley's mother. I will not let that happen.

Bo

You don't have a choice, Jan. You made your decision the minute you started scheming again; you had a chance to be a good mother and you wasted your time on some baby switch. You've been nothing but trouble from the start. You ruined Shawn's life twice. Because of you, Lucas is going to prison and leaving his own family behind.

Jan, appalled

That was Greta's fault, NOT mine! She's the one who switched the babies, locked me up in a secret room, and shot Bentley! All of this goes back to her!

Hope

And who threw that racoon on her in the first place?! Who made her leave town? You tortured Belle. You tortured Mimi. You tortured Chloe. You tortured Eugenia.

Bo

You tried to kill my father. You locked my son in a cage for months, then tricked him for even more months. You stole his sperm! It's amazing that Marlena actually gave birth to someone like you; if she was alive today, she'd be disappointed in what you've become. Or what you've always been.

Hope

And now it's over. You're over, Jan. We're getting rid of you for the final time; go get some help, because you really need it. Until that happens, you're not even going to see Bentley again. Because he will be our son now. We're going to protect Bentley from poison like you.

Jan

It's amazing to ME that people like you created the love of my life. You both are making a big mistake.

Jan turns around and furiously storms off, leaving Bo and Hope to watch.

Hope

What a disturbed woman.

Bo

She's gone now. She's going to be out of Bentley's life, and he'll be in ours. I'm going to make this work, Fancy Face. I promise.

Hope, looking at her husband

Really? Do you mean that?

Bo, hesitant before leaning in and kissing her

Yes, I mean it. Now, I have to go...there's some business down at the station that I need to take care of.

Bo turns and leaves, as Hope goes back to watching over their grandson.

TitanPosted Image

Vivian is inside her office at Titan, the one that once belonged to her late husband, Victor Kiriakis. She is personally filling out the invitations to her ball.

Vivian, chucklingPosted Image

I am sending an invitation to every single address in Salem. This ball must be huge; I want everyone in this town to see that I have taken over. And I want all of my enemies to be there...I want to be able to gloat as they see that Vivian Alamain has finally won! And this time, no one is stopping her.

She grabs her phone and dials a number.

Vivian

Ivan! Get into my office and get these invitations sent out ASAP!

She hangs up, and smiles.

Vivian

Now that that is taken care of, it's time to line up media coverage. I want every single Salem affiliate at this ball; NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX. CNN. MSNBC. They all will be at my ball!

Vivian begins to make the arrangements, but suddenly, Celeste walks in.

Vivian, on the phone

I'll have to call you back.

She hangs up the phone again, and looks at Celeste.

Vivian

Celeste, what could you possibly want now? You are lucky that my secretary had a trial to go to.

CelestePosted Image

I had to take a quick vacation from Salem, dahling, but I'm back.

Vivian

Celeste, I have a ball to plan. I've been through this with you time and time again; we've fought and fought. You can do nothing to stop me. I've already won.

Celeste

I'm not here to fight with you, Vivian. As much as I hate you and would like to, I'm not going to waste my time attacking you again. However, I will say that I cannot believe you are doing this. Taking the hospital from the Hortons?? I know why you got revenge on your family and me, but what did the Hortons ever do to you?

Vivian

It's simple business, Celeste. It helped in my domination of Salem. You and your cards would not understand.

Celeste

You are ruthless. You kicked a good, hard working family out of their own hospital!

Vivian

And gave YOUR daughter her old job back! You should be thanking me.

Celeste

Alexandra was just fine at the hospital without being the chief-of-staff. You are destroying lives, Vivian. When will it stop? When will you finally end this madness?

Vivian

Please, I am destroying no lives. I've gotten my revenge; now it's much more than that. I am on top of Salem. I'm reigning over every single part of it. I am a DiMera AND Kiriakis; something that you, even when sleeping with both patriarchs, could not achieve.

Celeste

I had much deeper relationships with Stefano and Victor than you could have ever hoped for.

Vivian

Yet I'm the one who married them. Twice. You are just a servant, Celeste. You are not worth my time, so get out.

Celeste

Wait, Vivian! Don't go through with this ball! As much as I despise you, dahling, I have to warn you: I have a bad feeling about this. This ball will go very badly for you.

Vivian

Oh please, it's going to be one of the best things that ever happened to me. Aside from marrying Victor, of course.

Celeste, scowling

You will regret this, dahling.

Celeste leaves, and Vivian continues on with the organizing of her huge ball.

Bo rings the door bell. Kristen who runs down stairs opens the door and is ecstatic to see Bo. She hugs him.

Kristen

“Oh Bo, I’ve missed you.”

Bo

“I’m here to tell you about the paternity test results with Megan.”

Kristen Posted Image

“You look very serious. Please don’t tell me you have a child with my sister?”

Bo

“Thankfully no.”

Kristen

“Then that’s wonderful.” She runs up to him and hugs him. Bo doesn’t really return the hug this time. She pulls back and can tell something is else is wrong.

Kristen

“Bo, what’s going on? Is something else the matter?”

Bo

“I really don’t know how to say this.”

Kristen

“Just say it.”

Bo

“Well, Lucas killed Greta Von Amberg. He’s in jail and that leaves my grandson Bentley. Jan is insane and Lucas was already fighting for custody of him. So Hope and I decided to adopt our grandson.”

Kristen

“So now what? What does this mean for us?”

Bo

“Kristen, I think you know. The writing is on the wall. I can’t leave Hope to raise 3 little kids. What kind of man would I be?”

Kristen

“I agree they do need you in their lives. But what about us Bo? What about our love? I love you. And I think you love me.”

Bo

“No Kristen. I don’t mean to hurt you but this has to stop. We cannot continue our affair. I have to be there for Hope and the kids.”

Kristen

“So what we have is over? All the nights of passions and ecstasy with you is gone?”

Bo

“I’m sorry but yes Kristen. We have to stop this. Too many people will get hurt.”

Kristen

“You can’t just love me the best way a man has and take it away from me. Bo I won’t tell anyone. You can still love me. I need you Bo.” She walks up to him and holds him. He pushes her off of him. Kristen then unties her robe to reveal some sexy lingerie.

Kristen

“Look at me Bo? Don’t turn me down. Make love to me right here and right now. I know you want to. I need you Bo. Make love to me.” She says seductively, walking up to him yet again and giving him a kiss. Bo pulls back.

Bo

“STOP! We can’t do this. It’s over Kristen now I am sorry.” He storms out the house.

Java Cafe

It's a brand new day in Salem; the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. Inside the Java Cafe, Eugenia sits at a table with her son, Josh. Lexie enters and walks over to her table.
Eugenia
Lexie, thanks for coming. You're probably the closest person I have to a friend in this town.
Lexie, smiling
Sure. If you need anything, just tell me; I'm so sorry about Lucas.
Eugenia
I know you've got to go in to work, so I'll make this quick; Lucas and I broke up. He knows that he can't get out of this, so we're going our seperate ways for now.
Lexie
Oh, honey, I'm so sorry.
Eugenia
It's so hard, Lexie; I've known Lucas for years, and I've helped do some bad things to him in the past. But when I came back to Salem...I just fell in love with him. When I thought my baby was gone, he was there. It all went by so fast, but I still loved him. I wanted to be his wife.
Lexie, thinking of her messy divorce with Abe
It can be really hard when you lose someone you love. Everything changes.
Eugenia
And everything's changing for me right now. Yet again. The reason that I wanted to meet with you wasn't because I needed to pour my heart out; I wanted to tell you that Josh and I are leaving Salem.
Lexie
What? Why?
Eugenia
I barely have any friends in this town; you're kind of a friend because I used to work for you, but that's about it. I guess there's Will and Destiny, but they have their own problems to worry about. Without Lucas, there just isn't a point to staying here.
Lexie, nodding
I understand completely. Just take the time that you need and go anywhere with your son. You still have a huge life ahead of you.
Eugenia
Thanks, Lexie; we'll make it, somehow, but it just can't be here. Not without Lucas. I've got the next bus out of Salem at ten.
Lexie
I wish you all the best.
Eugenia
Thanks....especially for talking to me after what I did all of those years ago; with Sami and the paternity test...
Lexie
It's ancient history.
Eugenia and Lexie stand up and hug, and Lexie smiles at her as she leaves. Eugenia then takes Josh, and heads for the door.
Eugenia
Come on, Josh, let's get out of Salem.

Episode#455: Duking of the Divas
Written by: Tara Smith and ML Cooks

Salem University Hospital

Carrie, Belle, Sami, Eric, Rex, and Cassie are all in the waiting room of the hospital.
Belle
I can't believe this; our dad's awake! The doctors said that he's been talking almost all night, and is regaining more and more control of his body. It's a miracle!
Sami
I can't believe this.
Carrie
This is what we were praying for; God has answered our prayers. This is such great news.
Sami
I know that I've had a really hard time accepting John as my father, and I never really treated him great, but we needed this. Our family needed this; Mom is dead. I just found out that the father of my only child is going to jail. This really helps things.
Carrie
I'm so sorry about Lucas; I know that he and I have a troubled past, but in the end, he was a friend. He was a good man.
Sami
Thanks, but this isn't about Lucas. It's about our dad.
Eric
Before we go in there, we need to talk about something. Everyone's told us that he keeps asking for Mom. He's got no idea what happened to her.
Rex
We can't just drop a bomb on him like that. He just woke up after being like this for over three years. We have to take it slow.
Eric
You're right, but we have to tell him sometime.
Carrie
Soon. We'll tell him soon, don't worry. Like Rex said, it has to be slow.
Eric looks at Cassie, who hasn't said a word. She just stands there, not really paying attention.
Eric
Cassie, you ok?
Cassie
Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about Jeremy; his mom's trial is starting any minute. I wish I could be there for him.
Sami
You're such a selfish bitch. Your own father is finally able to speak and all you can think about is your boyfriend?!
Cassie
I'm no better than you, Sami. I've been a lot better to him than you were. And at least I've got a boyfriend to worry about.
Sami's eyes go wide at this low blow, and starts to lunge at her sister; Cassie is ready to fight back, but Eric grabs Sami, and Rex grabs Cassie. Belle steps in the middle of them.
Belle
Both of you stop! This is ridiculous. Today is about us being a family for Dad, and I'm not going to let either of you fill it with drama.
Carrie
She's right; cool it, both of you.
Sami
Fine. I'm so glad that we only have to see each other at times like this, Cassie.
Cassie
Same here.
Eric and Rex let go of their twins, and Belle turns around and leads her siblings inside John's hospital room. Carrie looks at them.
Carrie
We need to take this slow. One of us go up to him at a time.
All of them enter the room, and Belle is first; she looks at her father, who looks up at her as he sits in a chair. She gets teary just seeing him blink. She immediately wraps her arms around him.
Belle
Daddy....
John, slowly hugging her
Izzy....
Belle just stands there for a moment, in her father's arms. She can't even remember the last time he was able to hold her like this; John closes his eyes and a few tears roll down his cheek. Belle pulls back, her eyes also stained from crying.
Belle
I've missed you so much. I'm really glad to see that you remember me; Claire told me to tell you hi and that she loves you. Do you remember her?
John
My granddaughter.
Belle laughs, and nods.
Belle
That's right. I'll talk to you more in a minute, okay?
John slowly nods, and Eric walks up to him next. Eric crouches down.
Eric
Hey, Dad, remember me? It's been awhile.
John, examining him for a moment
Eric...didn't think you were in Salem.
Eric
Yeah, I left again for a little while, but I came back. It's really great to see you. You're getting better fast, but that doesn't surprise me. It's just who you are.
Eric steps aside, and Cassie walks up to him next. She hugs him and smiles.
Cassie
Hi...don't know if you'll remember me or not. I wasn't around you as much as everyone else was....we didn't really get time to bond, but you always stuck by me anyway.
John
You're name is....it's....
Cassie frowns, hoping that he would in fact remember her. She glances at Carrie, who just puts a comforting hand on her shoulder.
John
Cassie. Cassie and Rex DiMera.
Cassie, chuckling
Um, close. It's actually Brady, but I understand. Rex is here, too.
Rex, walking forward
Yeah, I'm here too. I'm really glad to see you; I know we haven't been around as long as any of your other kids, but you're still our dad, and we're so happy that we have this chance to get to know you.
John manages to smile, and all of his children smile back.
John
I....I care about you. And that's....
John stops for a moment, still having some trouble speaking after being unconscious for all of this time. However, he musters up the strength to finish.
John
And that's a fact.
Rex and Cassie sit down in some spare chairs, and Sami approaches John next. Before she can even hug him, he speaks.
John
Samantha Gene.
Sami
Wow, you remembered that one right off the bat, huh?
John
H-how could I forget?
Everyone laughs, and Sami hugs him.
Sami
It really is good to see you; I know that from me, it probably sounds like a load of bull, but it's true. Just seeing you talking, smiling, moving your arms...it makes me so happy. Beyond happy. We may have a tense past, but that's over. Now we're in the present.
Sami again smiles at him, before sitting down herself. Finally, Carrie walks over to her father.
Carrie, getting teary
Hey, Dad...we've been praying for you. I've been visiting you all the time, and you've always been on my mind; I don't even have words to describe how this feels. It's so fantastic.
Carrie and John hug, and John tightly embraces his daughter, using all of the strength that he can at this time. She pulls back and kisses him on the cheek, before sitting beside Belle on the bed.
John looks at all of his children, taking all of their faces in, ad he continues to come back into reality and the world around him.
John
Brady....where's Brady?
Belle
He and Chloe couldn't get here from Vienna; there's a really bad storm over there, but he's going to come and see you soon, I promise. He really wanted you to know how much he loves you and how happy he is, too.
John
And Marlena. I....I have wanted to see my wife so badly. Where is she?
Carrie
Soon. You'll find out soon, I promise.
John, trying to get his bearings
What....
He pauses, before continuing.
John
What happened to me? Why am I here?
All of the kids look at each other, and both Eric and Carrie give a nod in Sami's direction.
Sami
Uh, okay, well...remember everything with Stefano and Helena and EJ? Here in Salem, in Italy, on the island?
John nods.
Sami
You and Stefano faced off again, and both of you shot each other...Stefano ended up in a coma, and you were in a catatonic state until yesterday.
John is silent for a moment, attempting to think back; slowly, everything comes back into his mind. He flashes back to fighting Stefano on that island, determined to finish him once and for all.
John
I remember. What happened to Stefano?
Sami flashes back to chasing Stefano throughout Salem, and his car going off of a cliff.
Sami
Another long story for another time.
John
My wife. I need to see my love.
Belle, taking his hand and squeezing it
Soon....like we said, you'll find out everything soon. For now, just focus on getting better.

At the other side of the hospital,

Lexie walks into Vivian’s office.
Lexie
“You wanted to speak with me Ms. Alamain?”
Vivian
“Please call me Vivian. We’ve known each other for a long time, no need for all the professionalisms.”
Lexie
“Please Vivian; I am having a stressful day. Don’t play games with me. That’s something you like to do. I have a hospital to run thanks to you.”
Vivian
“Indeed. Thanks to me. Remember, I own this hospital, I don’t think I appreciate your tone with me.”
Lexie
“And I don’t like to be caught up in you war with everyone here in Salem. Buying this hospital, and firing chief of Staff Mike Horton. The Horton's have been a corner stone of this hospital for decades. And here comes hurricane Vivian taking it all away. I mean for what? What was the point firing Mike?”
Vivian
“Because I can do things like that my dear. When you have as much power as I do, you can make things happen. I don’t and will not explain myself to the daughter of a terror card reader. I don’t think Celeste is even reading those terror cards. She’s probably just playing solitaire by herself.”
Lexie
“You may own Salem but you don’t own me. You make one more remark like that again about my mother and I will knock you out Vivian.”
Vivian
“You can try my dear. But you better think of your son. You lay a hand on me you will have nothing I’ll see to it. See my dear I guess I do own you.”
Lexie turning around to leave her office
“I don’t have time for this.”
Vivian
“Just one moment missy! We are not done here. We are done when I say we are done. I haven’t dismissed you yet. Where’s the respect.”
Lexie
“Vivian, you keep this up and you won’t live long enough to enjoy your new found power. What the hell do you want? I’m getting tired of playing games with you.”
Vivian
“Well since it seems I can’t trust you to run this hospital with your nasty attitude, I have decided to hire a new right man for you. I need a backup in case you call off sick or something. I already have this new person in the works to arrive.”
Lexie
“So you want me to train some lackey to take over my job? That’s what it sounds like.”
Vivian
“Not so much. I think you need to be more worried about on who this lackey is. Trust me dear it’s no lackey.” Vivian says chuckling leaving back in her executive chair.
Lexie
“Then who is it?”
Vivian
“Dr. Jonah Carver. You know you’re ex husband’s brother, the one you nearly had an affair with about 15 years ago.”
Lexie
“Jonah, is coming here to Salem? I’ll be working with him?”
Vivian
“Ahh, what’s the matter my dear, memories of hot times rushing back to your brain. Hoping to rekindle things with your ex husband’s brother?”
Lexie
“Go to hell Vivian Alamain!”
Vivian
“I get my manicures done there. Now get out my office your boring me.”
Lexie
“Bitch! You won’t get away with this.” Lexie storms out slamming the door behind her. She has flash backs of nearly making love with Jonah.
Lexie
“No he can’t be coming back here.”
Meanwhile
Vivian with a devilish grin on her face is talking with Ivan
“That should keep Lexie busy for a while. I won’t have to worry about her coming after me right now.”
Ivan
“I urge you madam, you are making very many enemies. I urge you to cool it down. I am worried for you.”
Vivian
“What the hell is someone going to do Ivan? Shoot me?”

Salem Courthouse

Down at the large courthouse, Robin and Jeremy are in the courtroom that Laura's trial is being held in. The ADA, Paul McDaneld, is setting up for the trial, and the mother and son sit, waiting. Jeremy is very nervous and on edge.
Jeremy
I can't believe this is happening.
Robin, running a hand through his hair
I know. I know this has to be hard for you, but it's what needs to be done; for your sake, for my sake. For Laura's.
Jeremy, standing up
Even after all this time, it's still hard to process. My grandma tried to kill my mom; like I told you before, I'm not doubting you, but something just doesn't click. It doesn't sound right.
Robin looks away for a moment, almost wondering if she can go through with this.
Robin
And it shouldn't, but it's the truth. I'm sorry.
Jeremy
I think I need some water.
Jeremy leaves, and Robin just rubs her temples.
Robin, whispering to herself
I have to do it. I can't come all of this way and get cold feet now. Laura needs to go away; she's going to ruin Jeremy's life if she sends him back to Alexis. She won't let me be a mother; I have to make sure that she goes to that crazy house for life. And...it's not just about me any more. Vivian Alamain want Laura gone, too.
Robin hears the door open, and looks up to see her ex, Mike. He slowly approaches her.
Mike
Good morning, Robin.
Robin
Good morning, Mike.
Mike
It's good to see you out of that wheelchair.
Robin
Don't act like you actually give a damn, Mike.
Mike
Robin, please, don't do this today. You're already doing enou-
Robin, scowling
Are you really trying to pin all of this on me? You started this mess. You caused all of this when you slept with your son's girlfriend!
Mike, raising an eyebrow
I wouldn't think that had anything to do with you and my mother...unless you're admitting that you lied.
Robin
You know what I mean; Laura would have never decided to stay in Salem. Hell, I wouldn't have come back to Salem.
Mike
Come on, Robin, please. For a while, I was trying to remain neutral, because I was the doctor that saved your life. Twice. But I can't anymore; I don't believe that my mother is guilty. When I talk to her, when I look into her eyes...I only see innocence. You're framing her, and I know it; I know that you and her disagreed on everything with Alexis, Jeremy, and I, but please, just let it go.
Robin
You're just in denial; the evidence is there. She tried to kill me three times; you just don't want to believe that she's gone insane again. And your girlfriend is her lawyer; if you admitted that her case was a lost cause, you wouldn't get to sleep with her, would you?
Mike, sighing
Robin, please...ever since you came back to Salem, you've been so different. You've been cold. You've been a bitch. You had a right to be mad at me and Alexis for what we did to Jeremy, but you've taken this way too far. You weren't like this when we were together, when we fell in love. We had our problems and you were never this person.
Robin
That was a long time ago, Mike. Things change. I changed. You changed.
Mike
How did I change, Robin? Please, honestly, I want to know. I need to know; how did I change?
Robin, stunned
Mike, do you know all that I went through? All that....you know what, no. I'm not going to bother explaining it to you. Today is about justice.
Robin stands up and walks away from Mike, who sighs and shakes his head at her. Jeremy walks back in.
Jeremy
Hey, what were you doing with her?!
Mike, turning to Jeremy
Jeremy, we can't fight here. Not today....I needed to have a word with your mother. You know as well as I do that she's lying; I'm sorry that I have to say this, but it's true. You know that she's lying about your grandmother.
Mike walks past Jeremy, who stares at his mother for a moment.
Jeremy
She wouldn't lie. She just wouldn't. She was the one that stayed there for me when he didn't.
Outside the courtroom, Maggie and the newly returned Bill Horton walk up to the doors that will lead inside.
Maggie
So, Bill, you've never told me what exactly brought you back to Salem.
Bill
My family is in chaos, Maggie. I find out that the mother of my grandson is saying that my ex-wife tried to kill her three times, and that my son slept with my grandson's girlfriend? And my other son is going down for murder. No good man would sit back and stay away in a time like this.
Maggie
I'm glad to hear that. The Horton family has been through so much during these past several years; Mickey and Alice passing away. Hope and Julie were in prison for awhile, and then all of this chaos with Mike and Jeremy. Now Lucas is going to jail for murdering Greta Von Amberg, and Will has a daughter.
Bill
I'm a great-grandfather. It's all so hard to take, and I feel so responsible. Lucas and I've seen each other sometimes over the years, but we've never had a real relationship. Mike thought Mickey was his father for years. Jennifer rebelled against me more than once. What kind of father am I? I've barely even come to Salem except for funerals.
Maggie
Don't blame yourself; we're all responsible for our own actions, and all of that is in the past. We just have to make it better for the future, and besides, you were in Africa for so long. Maybe that is what you felt like was home?
Bill, hesitating
Africa is nothing like Salem, Maggie. Absolutely nothing like it. But that doesn't matter; I'm back now, and I'm not leaving any time soon. I've hurt Laura so much, but today, I am standing by her, Mike, and Jeremy.
Maggie
That's wonderful. We're all a giant family, and we're going to get through this.
Maggie and Bill walk inside, and Alexis walks in shortly after they do.
Alexis
Seems like we're gonna have a full house of Hortons today. Today's the day that Robin will fall.
Robin, walking up to her with Jeremy
I doubt that. Today will be the end of this mess; the end of Laura's antics, and the end of yours. Everyone is going to see that I'm telling the truth.
Jeremy
Why are you here, Alexis? This really is a family thing.
Alexis
I'm a witness, you dumbass. I've been in this whole fiasco since day one; I was there when Robin fell. You know, Jeremy, I'm really getting sick of your attitude.
Robin
Then stop pursuing him and leave us alone!
Jeremy
She's not worth it, Mom. Come on, let's go see if the prosecutor has anything to tell us.
Jeremy tosses his cell phone on to a seat so no one will take it, and after he and his mother leave, it starts to ring. Out of curiosity, Alexis looks at it to see Cassie calling. She smirks and picks up the phone.
Alexis
Hello?
Cassie
Alexis? What the hell are you doing on Jeremy's phone?
Alexis
Well, I am a secretary, you know. I'm used to taking phone calls.
Cassie
Where's my boyfriend? I want to talk to him now! It makes me sick that you're there today and that I'm not.
Alexis
Actually, you'd better enjoy this while you can. Because Robin's going down today, and you're next, bitch!
Cassie
I beg to differ.
Alexis
Oh, I better go, now. Jeremy needs me!
Alexis hangs up the phone and tosses it back onto the seat. Julie and Hope enter the courtroom and walk over to Maggie, Bill, and Mike.
Maggie
Oh, Julie, Hope, it's so good to see you two. How is Bentley?
Hope
He's doing good; he's recovering well. Bo and I are going to try to adopt him and get him away from Jan Spears.
Julie
And thank goodness for that! Now, how is Laura?
Bill
April's been talking to her all morning. Hopefully, she's doing well.
Hope
It's so good to see you, Uncle Bill. I'm really glad you're back in Salem.
Bill
It's good to be back, Hope. And good to see that you and Bo are still doing so well.
Hope, thoughtfully
Yeah...
Everyone turns when the courtroom doors open yet again, and Laura is led inside by a guard. April follows behind her. They take their seats at the front of the room, and Jeremy is tempted to go over to see his grandmother, but stays at his mother's side. Maggie, Bill, Mike, and Alexis all head to Laura's table.
Mike
Mom, how are you?
Laura
I'm good, Michael; just very nervous.
Maggie
Stay strong, honey. We're all rooting for you.
April
Like I told you, Laura, you can't let Robin push your buttons. She and the prosecutor are going to try to do that today; that's all that Robin has been doing. She wants to make you look crazy.
Laura
I know. I am really going to try my best to remain unaffected by anything that she throws at me.
April
Today, I'm going to turn the tables. I'm going to push Robin's buttons. Her testimony is critical.
Alexis
About time. Make her squirm.
Mike
Just please, April, be careful. This is the mother of my son; I don't want an all out war today.
April
I may have to push her as far as I can, Mike. That's the only way that your mother is going to be set free.
Mike, sighing
I'm just more concerned for Jeremy than anything else. I don't want to make this hard on my son.
April
I know, Mike, I know.
Laura shares a glance with her grandson; neither of them say a word, but silently, Laura makes one last plea for him to believe her. To realize that his mother is lying. However, he simply looks away. Laura sadly looks at Bill.
Laura
Thank you for coming back, Bill. I really didn't expect to see you here.
Bill
Laura, you and I may not be together any more, but I still care about you. You'll always be special to me. You're the mother of two of my children, and I know that all of this is a lie.
Laura
Thank you.
Laura and Bill stare at each other for a moment, almost recalling all of their insane history just by looking at each other. They both turn away when the baliff enters.
Baliff
All rise! Judge Karen Fitzpatrick presiding!
Judge Fitzpatrick enters, and ushers everyone to sit down.
Judge Fitzpatrick
We are here today for the proceedings of the people of Salem v. Laura Horton. I don't want to drag this out any longer; let us begin.

Alamain

Valentine is sitting in her office, filling out some paperwork, when Vivian barges in. She looks up and rolls her eyes.
Valentine
Just who I wanted to see.
Vivian
Yes, I imagine this is quite a disappointment. I didn't die in that fire of yours, did I?
Valentine
What? What are you talking about?
Vivian
Don't play dumb with me, you botoxed whore! Someone tried to burn my mansion down the other day, and I know it was you.
Valentine
Oh, yes, I heard about that. Do you honestly believe that I would do that, dear old sister? I mean, I own part of that mansion, too. If I wanted you gone, all I'd have to do is tell the police that you set Peter up to die.
Vivian
I'm getting sick of you holding that over my head, and now, I have something on you.
Valentine
My ass! Vivian, if you think I am getting any enjoyment out of this, you are wrong. My marriage is starting to come a part because of you; everything in my life revolves around you and I am tired of it!
Vivian
Then you never should have come to Salem in the first place. You never should have blackmailed me into signing fifty percent of everything I own to you! You've glued yourself to me, Valentine, and now you're sick of me? All the more reason why you'd burn down the Kiriakis Mansion to try to kill me!
Valentine
I didn't set the Kiriakis Mansion on fire! You must be getting too old to hear me! Let me say it again: If I wanted you gone, all I'd hav-
Vivian
Oh, believe me, I heard you. But see, you would go to jail for withholding information for so long if you did that. So this would be much easier.
Valentine
Please. That is an easy problem to avoid. You're pushing your luck with me, Vivian.
Vivian
Excuse me?
Valentine stands up and walks right over to her older sister, getting right in her face.
Valentine
You've included me in none of your decisions! I am supposed to be a part of all of your businesses, but instead, you've gone off and done everything without a word to me! The only reason I am even back at Alamain is because I blackmailed you. Now, you're accusing me of trying to kill you? I hold all the cards here, and I'm about ready to play my hand!
Vivian
Oh, how wrong you are. I am Vivian Alamain. I'm undeniable, I'm unforgettable, I'm unstoppable, and I'm on top! You will not bring me down; mark my words on that.
Vivian turns to leave, and Valentine scowls.
Valentine
You'd better watch your old, wrinkly back, bitch!
Vivian, turning around
No, YOU'D better watch YOUR old back! Valentine, you had better be on board with my take over of Salem, otherwise, you WILL go to jail for that fire, whether you started it or not! And then, once you are in jail, I will have everything to myself once again, and no one will believe a word you say about Peter. So think wisely about whether you are with me or against me.
Vivian marches out of her office, and Valentine angrily watches her leave, more determined than ever.

Salem University Hospital

Hope walks in to the hospital, still fuming and angry over everything that is going on in her marriage. Bo quickly follows her in, desperate to calm his wife.
Bo
Fancy Face, please, you've gotta listen.
Hope
Listen to what, Bo?! Some excuse for your actions?! I know that when I went to prison, our marriage was falling apart, but we were still married. You slept with Jill, you slept with Megan...you even slept with Kristen!
Bo, startled by Hope's last accusation
Hope, I've told you a million times, nothing happened on Padre Island!
Hope, surprised
I wasn't talking about your trip to Padre Island, Brady; I was talking about when you slept with her the night that I got out of jail.
Bo, relieved yet aggrivated at himself
Right.
Hope stares at her husband, continuing to wonder if something did in fact happen between Bo and Kristen on Padre Island.
Bo
Hope, I...I feel terrible for all of this. I really do; you know me, you know that I love you. We haven't been in love for almost thirty years for our marriage to crumble now. With Jill, we were both drunk, and I didn't even know about Megan. I was drugged and I thought it was you. And we've already gone over what happened with Kristen.
Hope
It didn't use to be this easy. Years ago, it would have taken a lot to get the husband that I knew in bed with another woman; now all it takes is a few drinks? A pill?
Bo
I felt like I'd lost everything. My two sons were dead and my wife was in jail for murder.
Hope
Damnit, Brady, but you did have something! Our two daughters! How could you bring all of these random women home with them in the other room?! Did you even think about them?!
Bo
You know I love Pamela and Addie, Hope. Above all else; the problem was that I wasn't thinking at all.
Megan walks in to the waiting room, interrupting their argument.
Megan
Ready to get welcomed into the family, Bo?
Bo and Hope both ignore Megan; seconds later, Lexie walks out into the waiting room.
Lexie, taking a deep breath
I'm glad all three of you are here. I have the results from the test right here.
Lexie shows them the file, and she glances at Megan; Megan winks at her, and Lexie just sighs.
Bo
I really wanna get this over with, Lex. Let's hear it.
Lexie nods and starts to open the envelope. Bo, Hope, and Megan all watch in anticipation; for all of them, this could be a great relief or a great disaster. Hope looks at her husband one last time.
Megan
Come on, sis, we don't have all damn day. Bo and I have a family to raise without Hopeless.
Lexie takes out the results, and looks at them. She then looks at the three before her.
Hope
Well? Come on, Lexie, don't leave us hanging.
Lexie, looking right at Bo
Bo, you are NOT the father of Megan's baby.
Megan's eyes are suddenly filled with horror, and Bo and Hope feel a rush of relief. Hope exhales, suddenly a lot happier than before, and Bo looks at Megan.
Bo
Guess you're scheme wasn't so full proof after all, was it?
Megan, looking from Lexie to Bo
I...I can't believe this. I'm so sho-
Bo
Cut the crap, Megan. I want to know what you were really up to and I want the truth!
Megan, scowling
Fine! I did sleep with you, and I really wanted to get pregnant with your baby, but one night may not be enough. It was my master plan, Bo, I couldn't let it fail at that point, and I knew that I wouldn't be able to get you into bed twice. So I slept with sevral men to ensure that I got pregnant, and sure enough I did. My son isn't yours, but he could have been!
Hope, marching over to Megan
You are sick. Do you hear me? Sick. Do you know how crazy that sounds?! Drugging my husband and sleeping with random men, all for some chance at a baby that would give Bo back to you? I've had enough of you. You've been nothing but trouble since the day you showed up in Salem all of those years ago.
Bo
Hope's right, Megan; you and I aren't connected in any way, shape, or form. We will never be together, and it's time you accept that. I don't ever want to see you again.
Megan, growing angrier
Tough, because this is not the last you've seen of Megan Hathaway DiMera.
Megan shoves her way past the couple, and storms up to her sister.
Megan
You and I talked about this. You were supposed to make sure that paternity test said that Bo was my baby's father!
Lexie
You know I couldn't do that, Megan; I've betrayed my ethics enough over the years. I was not about to do it again, especially because it was only for your selfish desires. You and Bo were over a long time ago and this was ridiculous.
Megan, getting right in Lexie's face
You'll regret this, Lexie. You'll pay for not putting family first.
After making that threat, Megan leaves the hospital in a fury. Bo looks at his wife.
Bo
Well, that's one problem out of the way, Fancy Face. You won't have to worry about Megan anymore.
Hope, slowly nodding
Yeah, yeah, I'm definitely happy about that.
Lexie
I don't mean to interrupt any more, I'm sure you two have a lot to talk about, but I was asked to pass on a message.
Bo and Hope both look at Lexie curiously.
Lexie, sighing
I'm really sorry that this has to be so sudden, but your grandson, Bentley Spears, was shot tonight.
Hope
What?! Bentley's just a toddler!
Bo
Is he ok?! What happened?
Lexie
He had a great surgery and is expected to make a full recovery for now. I'm not sure on the details, but something happened with his mother, Lucas Roberts, Eugenia Willens, and Greta Von Amberg. Lucas was taking care of him, but he's been arrested for Greta's murder, and he wanted you to get to Bentley before Jan did.
Bo
We are Bentley's grandparents, and we haven't been active enough in his life; I've always known that Jan was trouble. Now is our chance.
Hope
You're right, Bo. Lexie, can you take us to his room? I want to see him.
Lexie
Of course. Follow me.
Bo
I'll be right there.
Lexie and Hope leave, and Bo watches his wife go, as he thinks about the current rift in their marriage.
Bo
We have a family to raise; Hope is my wife, the love of my life. I've got to get things back on track. I have to end my affair with Kristen.
Bo then sets off in the direction that Lexie and Hope went, determined to put his family back together.

Written by: Tara Smith and ML Cooks

Salem Jail

Lucas is in a jail cell, thinking about how his life has gone lately; he has a family, but now he is here, inside jail, for murder. He couldn't go back and change anything; there was no turning back now. Eugenia approaches his cell.
Lucas, jumping up
Did you get a hold of Bo and Hope?
Eugenia
Lexie was going to see them today, anyway, so she's passing on the message. I'm sure they'll take good care of Bentley.
Lucas
Yeah, they're good people, and he's their grandson. It's only right.
Eugenia
I'm working on getting you a good lawyer. I tried to hire April Ramirez, but she's pretty busy with the mess that Laura's in. I'm going to try to get Ji'Min Kim down here. And I can talk to your mom and-
Lucas
No, Eugenia, stop. I want a good lawyer, I need one, but it's not going to stop the inevitable. Like I told you, I killed Greta, and I've gotta take responsibility for that. I'm definitely going to prison for a while, and I don't want to hold you back.
Eugenia
But Lucas, I'm your fiancee, and I-
Lucas
Have a son to raise now. I love you, Eugenia, and that's why I won't keep you distracted with this. I've got to break up with you.
Eugenia, tears coming to her eyes
What?! Lucas, please, don't do this.
Lucas
We have to and you know it. I'm not going to make you watch as I go through all of this; you need to focus on Josh. I'm doing this for you.
Eugenia
Just when we were finally happy, this had to happen. I-I understand, but it's so hard to deal with.
Eugenia sheds a few tears, and Lucas reaches through the bars to wipe her eyes.
Lucas
The minute I get out, I'll come looking for you, where ever you are.
Eugenia
I'll be waiting.
Lucas motions for her to leave, wanting to make this as easy as possible on both of them; he feels some tears well up in his eyes as she walks towards the door. Eugenia turns to look at Lucas one last time.
Eugenia
Goodbye, Lucas. And thank you for everything that you've done for me. I know I haven't always been the best person to you, but...thank you.
Eugenia hurries out. Lucas sadly watches.
Lucas
Goodbye Eugenia.

DiMera Mansion

Andre comes down stairs, ready for his romantic dinner with his wife Valentine. He hears some noise coming from the living room, and walks in to see Megan packing her bags! Her son, Bo DiMera, is at her side in his carrier.
Andre, visibly confused
Megan, what the hell are you doing?
Megan
Getting the hell out of Salem. I'm sick of this town.
Andre
So you are just abandoning everything? The DiMera dynasty, the threat of Vivian Alamain, your own quest for Bo?
Megan
Bo...my mission has been temporarily haulted. And I have to say, I'm starting not to trust our own family. My father would be disgusted with all of this.
Andre
And you are giving up? That doesn't quite seem like you, Megan.
Megan, laughing
Oh, Andre; I'm taking my son and we're leaving Salem. But I will be back one day with a vengence, and I will make everyone pay for what's happened. I may be down, but I'm not out. I just need a chance to re-generate. The DiMeras are not done.
Megan picks up her son, as well as her bags, and walks right out of the DiMera Mansion, leaving Salem...for now.

Kiriakis Mansion

Vivian stares at the Kiriakis Mansion, which is now half-burnt and half-intact; a fair amount was able to be saved, and it would not take too long to rebuild. But nonetheless, for now, it was not habitable. Vivian is on her cell phone as she observes the damage.
Vivian
Get all of my possessions to the DiMera Mansion as quickly as possible, Ivan! I'm going to have to return there for now, until the Kiriakis Mansion is repaired.
Vivian hangs up the phone, and Chris approaches.
Chris
Our investigations point to arson, Mrs. Kiriakis. We're pretty sure that was what caused it.
Vivian
Well, I could have told you that.
Chris
I'm going to need to interview you about this; we need a list of suspects so that we can bring them to justice.
Vivian
Certainly, officer.
Chris
Okay, first off, who would want to do this? Do you have any enemies?
Vivian
Yes, quite a few, actually. All over Salem at this point.
Chris
Would any of them go this far?
Vivian thinks for a moment, and many names come to her mind; all of them had valid reason to attack her.
Vivian
Valentine....
Chris
Who?
Vivian
My sister, Valentine Heart. She and I have been at odds many times; she owns fifty percent of everything that I own. We basically share these companies and properties, even though I call the shots; I wouldn't put this past that whore.
Chris
Anyone else?
Vivian
Kristen Blake. That damn DiMera has been after me for ages now; she's shot off nonsense accusations about me. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if your very own boss, Bo Brady, did this for her.
Chris
Bo? One of the most honorable men in Salem? I doubt he tried to burn down his own father's mansion.
Vivian
Please! He's been helping her all along. And they aren't the only ones, detective! Mike Horton could be a suspect.
Chris
The chief of staff at University hospital? He's been very respected in this town for a long time; are you sure that you aren't shooting off random people to me?
Vivian
How dare you! You don't know me or what my life is like; I know for a fact that all of these people are my enemies! In fact, shortly before the fire, I got a threatening letter from the ex-chief-of-staff's mother! If she wasn't in jail right now, I'd throw her in as a suspect. I don't think you can trust any of those Hortons.
Chris
Okay, any other people you want to throw out there?
Vivian
Celeste Perrault. That insane woman has assaulted me several times since Victor died, and we've never quite gotten along. She used to work for one of my other late husbands, Stefano, so she can be devious if she wants to be. I'd say she is a prime suspect.
Chris
Okay, keep going.
Vivian
Kate Roberts. Kate is probably my biggest rival; she's always had it out for me, and I bought her company recently. I wouldn't put it past that vulture to try to kill me like this! In fact, not too long ago, she hired someone to kill Tony DiMera! Attempted murder is nothing new for her.
Chris
This is turning into a long list, ma'am.
Vivian
And it's not done yet. I've also recently had arguments with my nephew, Nicholas, who has changed from the sweet boy that I raised; he could have done this. Victor's nephew, Justin, wasn't so approving of Victor's decision in marrying me, and I recently froze his assets. One of them could have done this.
Chris, sighing
You've got a lot of people out to get you, Mrs. Kiriakis. We'll look into this; in the meantime, I'd advise taking necessary precautions to keep yourself safe.
Chris walks off, and Vivian clenches her fist.
Vivian
Damn it, that man's right. So many people hate me right now, and I can't let myself collapse after all of this. I have to get this ball of mine to work; it has to happen soon, so I can cement my place. I have to distract everyone so that they won't try to steal their companies back!

Back at the Jail

Lucas quietly sits inside his jail cell, shortly after breaking up with Eugenia so that she wouldn't have to watch what was to come for Lucas. He hears someone else enter, and looks to see his teenage son, Will.
Will
Dad, I can't believe this. What the hell's going on? Bentley was shot? You killed Greta?
Lucas
Hey, son. Yeah, a lot of crazy stuff has been going down lately, but Bentley's fine; his grandparents are going to take him in.
Will
What do you mean? I thought he was going to live with us; I mean, you'll be out of here soon, right?
Lucas, sighing
I doubt it. I'm sorry, Will, but I need to be straight up with you; you're probably the person that I love and trust most in the world. I'm going to have to serve some jail time for this; I'm just pleading guilty to this, because it's true. I killed Greta. I'm not going to fight the system, so hopefully this'll move quickly. But I'm going to be gone for awhile.
Will stands there for a moment, stunned.
Lucas
Come on, man, talk to me.
Will
I don't know what to say, Dad. You've been there for me in life a lot more than Mom has, as much as I love both of you. You stood by me when we were fighting the Galores for Arianna; you took me back in even though I ran away and had a baby. You even gave Destiny a home. You've been so great, but now you're gone? Just like that?
Lucas
It'll be okay, I promise; I'm not going to be in here forever. And you've got your mom, who really cares about you and is trying to help you now; that's what's important. I need you to be strong; be the responsible man that I know you are.
Will, nodding
I'll try my best. I still can't believe this. What about Eugenia? Grandma Kate? The rest of our family?
Lucas
I'll get the family down here and tell all of them myself, but I'm glad that I got to see you before anyone else. I broke up with Eugenia; I don't want her to watch this, whether it's fast or not. And I don't want you to watch it, either.
b]Will[/b]
Wha...? But you're my dad; I have to be there for you. I want to be there for you!
Lucas
I know, Will, and I appreciate it, but I don't need it. It's gonna be tough, but I'm strong and I can handle all of this. Eugenia has Josh to raise, and you have Arianna to raise. You've got school to go to. You need to focus on that, not me.
Will, frowning
If that's what you want....I promise that I'll visit you as much as I can, though.
Lucas, smiling
That'll be great.
Will
So this is goodbye, I guess.
Lucas
Yeah, it is. It's really what is best. I just want you to know how much I love you; I know I've had a lot of problems over the years, but I've always loved you. And I'm so proud of the man you're becoming. I really am.
Will
Thanks, Dad. Thanks for everything...I love you, too. Words can't express how much that I do, and how much I appreciate everything. I'm gonna miss you.
Lucas
I'm gonna miss you too. Now get out of here; go make out with Destiny or something.
Will actually manages to chuckle, and he waves at his father.
Will
Bye, Dad.
A tear goes down Will's cheek as he turns to leave, and Lucas barely manages to hold back his own, as he watches his son leave. It then hits Lucas all that he will be missing; his son, his granddaughter, his family. He thinks back to all of the good times with every single one of them.
Lucas
I'm gonna miss Salem, definitely....but I'm ready to face what's to come. I'm gonna face prison head on.
Lucas turns around, absolute and determined to strongly confront whatever was ahead of him in life.

DiMera Mansion

The Door bell rings at The Dimera mansion. Andre opens the door and greets Valentine by giving her a hug.
Andre
“You smell so sweet. Please come in.” Valentine enters the dreary mansion. Andre takes her coat and purse and hands it to the maid.
Andre
“Right this way.’ He says ushering her into the living room. The living room is decked out in romance. Classical music playing, white candles burning.
Valentine
“This is beautiful.”
Andre
“Only for the most beautiful lady in the world.”
Valentine
“You’re so sweet.” She says as she sits down at the table set for two.”
Andre
“I have the chef making something very special for us tonight.’ Andre tells her as he takes his seat. He pours them glasses of champagne and then holds his glass up to toast.
Valentine
"What shall we toast too?”
Andre
“To us and the down fall of your dreadful sister.”
Valentine
“Oh please Andre. Not tonight. I am tired of talking about my dear old sister.”
Andre
“What do you mean?’
Valentine
“My nephew Nicholas came and saw me earlier today grilling me about Vivian.”
Andre
“Well we are all worried about what are you going to do.”
Valentine
“I did not come here to talk about the war on Vivian.”
Andre
“Well I want to know what are you going to do to stop her. My entire well being is at stake here.”
Valentine
“Like I told Nicholas, I have things under control. Vivian is not going to win and that’s all there is to it and that’s I am saying.”
Andre
“But we are spouses. We are supposed to share these kind of things with each other.”
Valentine
“Sorry to inform you that I’m not sharing this... I am doing things my way and I will not reveal my trump card to no one.”
Andre
“You don’t trust me?”
Valentine
“When it comes to business I trust no one.”
Andre
“If we don’t have trust we don’t have anything. I think I am done here. You can see yourself out. Thanks for wasting our time.” Andre gets up and leaves the dinner table.
Valentine
“But we haven’t eaten yet and I’m hungry.”
Andre ignores her and walks out the room.
Valentine
“Well ain’t this a fine how do you do. I am so sick of Vivian running my life. I can’t wait until she gets what’s coming to her so I can move on with my life.” The maid hands Valentine her purse and coat and she storms out the house slamming the door behind her.

Back at University Hospital

Inside John Black's hospital room, all is quiet; the man sits perfectly still, remaining catatonic after all of this time. The man sits there...the words that he has heard recently echo in his mind; all of the prayers of his family and friends. All of the visits that he had recieved from his children. The wheels begin to turn in John's head again as he focuses on the people around him that love him, and the people that he loves. Finally, after so much time of being in a catatonic state, his mouth moves.
John
M...
John's right hand begins to slowly move, and minutes later, his left hand does as well! He begins to get a feel for the world around him once again, slowly but surely, as he regains control of his hands. He continues to try to speak.
John
M...Ma...Mar..
A nurse passes by while John's hands slowly move back and forth, and he tries to speak. Her eyes go wide in shock and she rushes inside!
Nurse
Mr. Black, are you awake?!
John continues to try to formulate words.
John
Mar...Marle....Marlena!
Nurse, darting out of the room
I need help! John Black has just woken up!
John
Marlena...

Kiriakis Mansion

Philip is now gone as the Kiriakis Mansion's fire is starting to spread; not too many inside the mansion have realized it yet. Vivian sits inside the living room, continuing to think about how she reigns over Salem and must make sure it stays that way, when the smoke alarms go off.
Vivian
What in the hell....
Ivan rushes in.
Ivan
Madam! We have to get out of here; I don't know how it happened, but a huge fire has broken out on the other end of the mansion! The smoke alarms are just now picking it up, and the fire department should be on there way!
Vivian, stunned
Well, there isn't any time to waste! Let's get out of here!
Ivan nods and take Vivian's hand, both immediately rushing out into the foyer and towards the front door.
Ivan
What about the staff? Henderson?
Vivian
Oh, let them fend for themselves! Hell, you're lucky I'm letting you escape with me, after how you betrayed me for Valentine all that time ago.
Ivan and Vivian dart out into the front yard, and they quickly run as far as they can. Once a safe distance away, Vivian turns to look at her mansion. The fire is starting to engulf a good portion of it.
Vivian
How could this even happen?! I have a competent staff!
Sirens are heard in the distance, and Vivian and Ivan see fire trucks drive onto the grounds of the Kiriakis Mansion. Fire fighters immediately emerge and start battling the flames; Vivian sees some of the staff darting out of the mansion, particularly Henderson.
Vivian
Henderson, you're alive.
Henderson
No thanks to you, Mrs. Kiriakis! Were you just going to leave all of us to die?!
Vivian
Well, no, but I had to save myself.
Henderson
Exactly! I have tried putting up with you and serving you since the day that Mr. Kiriakis died and left you in charge, but enough is enough! You didn't care whether any of us lived or not! You were just out to save yourself! Ever since the day you came to Salem, you've only cared about yourself. You've schemed, you've lied, you've killed...you are pure evil!
Vivian
Well, Henderson, I didn't know you had such courage.
Henderson
This fire is just the beginning, Mrs. Kiriakis! Your enemies are finally striking out against you, and I couldn't be happier!
Henderson storms off, and Ivan watches him go.
Ivan
I suppose we'll take that as his resignation. That butler has always seemed a bit insane to me.
Vivian
In all of Henderson's madness, some truth is there. This is not good, Ivan. This fire was no accident; I have enemies all over Salem now. One of them tried to kill me.
Vivian looks at her burnt mansion, obviously disturbed by the fact that someone was able to attack her so easily.

Written by: Tara Smith and ML Cooks

Downtown Salem, Alamain Inc.

Nicholas walks into Valentine’s executive office. Valentine, who was on the phone spins around in her swivel chair and smiles at him.
Valentine
“Ok thank you. I’ll be in touch” She says into the phone before hanging it up. She gets up and hugs her nephew.
“What brings you by?”
Nicholas
“I think you should know. I want to know what are you planning to do about Vivian. Whose side are you on?”
Valentine
“I told you have a plan.”
Nicholas
“That’s what I’m here to find out. Why haven’t you told me about this so called plan?”
Valentine
“I just can’t Nicholas. But just know Vivian is going down very soon. Her time in Salem is limited.”
Nicholas
“We are family. I hope you don’t try to cut me out of Alamain…… I think I see what’s going on here.”
Valentine
“What do you mean?”
Nicholas
“You’re not including me in your plan because you’re going to take it all for yourself?”
Valentine
“I can’t believe you would think I would such a thing.”
Nicholas
“I didn’t think my Aunt Vivian could do the things she’s done but she has. You’re acting just like her.”
Valentine
“Nicholas I promise you I will not cut you out. I need a right hand to run Alamain once I get rid of Vivian. Things are not as they seem. This is very personal for me. It’s personal between my dear old sister. She raised the stakes. My freedom is at stake. I will not involve you with that. “
Nicholas
“Well let me help.”
Valentine
“I’ll pass. Like I said it’s personal. I will take care of Vivian myself. I have the trump card and as I said I am keeping my hand close to my chest as big as they are.”
Nicholas
“Ok, I’ll let it go. For now. But you better mean what you say. We are family and don’t you forget it.”
Valentine
“Family means a lot to me. I am not like Vivian. You’ll see that. I just need for you to trust me. I got things taken care of.”
Nicholas
“Good I can sleep better.”
Valentine
“Yes, it looks like you are not sleeping well. You look horrible. Why don’t you take Belle and go on a romantic getaway. I am sure you two could use something like that. In fact, it’s on me, my treat.”
Nicholas
“Belle and I are not seeing eye to eye right now. I’ll take a rain check on your offer. “He looks at his Rolex.
“Look at the time I have to get going.” He gives his aunt a hug and leaves her office. Valentine walks over to her mini bar and pours her and drink. She holds up the glass and toasts to herself
“To Vivian, your time is done.” She swallows her drink and has a gloating smile on her face as she sits back in her chair.

Belle's Penthouse

At Belle's Penthouse, which once belonged to her deceased mother Marlena, Belle is sitting on the couch, watching a news report about Vivian's upcoming ball. She starts thinking about Nicholas and their huge fight. Her thoughts our interrupted when she hears the door bell ring.
Belle, jumping up
Maybe that's him now. Maybe he's finally come to his senses and we can talk about this.
Belle rushes to the door, anxious and hoping to see Nicholas on the other side, but is stunned when she opens it up and sees Philip! She stumbles backwards.
Belle
P...Philip....you should be in jail.
Philip
My family got me released. You don't have to be afraid; I'm not going to hurt you. I'm past what happened all that time ago.
Belle
I can't trust you, Philip. Not after all that you've done; you kidnapped me, you stalked me, and you get off just like that?!
Philip
I spent years in prison because of that, Belle. I've done my time, and I am over everything that happened. I'd never hurt you like I did. It was a time of weakness; you know me, you know what I'm really like. Remember the man that you were married to.
Belle
All that I remember is the man that acted without thinking! The husband that, instead of trying to calmly work things out, got angry and went insane! It feels like every man that I'm with is like that. Shawn, you, and now Nicholas!
Philip, raising an eyebrow
Nicholas? Who's Nicholas?
Belle's eyes go wide as she realizes her slip-up.
Belle
You'd better go now, Philip; I don't want to see you, I don't want to talk to you, and I will call the police if you come near me.
Philip
Come on, Belle, we've known each other since high school. We were married for almost two years! Do you know how hard it was for me to find out that Claire wasn't mine? That you'd cheated on me with Shawn? My world came down around me and I just snapped. I'm better now.
Philip flashes back to burning down the Kiriakis Mansion, but quickly pushes it out of his mind.
Belle
Then why are you here?! You and I were finished the minute you took me out of the loft that day!
Philip
If I want to start my life in salem with a clean slate, I needed to see you. You were an important part of my life, Belle, and I'll never forget you. I had to come and apologize for everything I did to you.
Belle
I don't even know what to say, Philip. This is so sudden, and so much is going on. Do you know what's happened in your time away?
Philip
Yeah. Your mom's dead and so is my dad. The woman who gave birth to me has taken over everything in Salem.
Belle
And I work for one of the businesses that she owns. My boyfriend left me, so I've got a lot on my mind right now. Please, Philip, just go. And don't come back.
Belle slams the door in her ex-husband's face, and tears up afterwards; she feels as if everything in her life is closing in on her. In the doorway, Philip stands, silent as he wonders what his true feelings for Belle are.

Salem University Hospital

Lucas and Eugenia both sit in the waiting room, shortly after visiting Bentley. Eugenia sits in her fiancee's arms.
Eugenia
This has been so insane; I hope, with Greta gone, all of this can be over.
Lucas
Don't worry. I'll make sure that no one can interfere with our lives ever again; we can finally be happy now. We can be together now.
Chris approaches the happy couple.
Chris
I wouldn't be so sure about that.
Eugenia, sitting up
Detective Reddins? What are you doing here?
Chris
We're very happy that your son pulled through, Mr. Roberts, but the police have investigated and you killed Princess Von Amberg in cold blood.
Lucas
I had every right to. The woman was terrorizing my family; she barged into my home. I had to stop her once and for all.
Chris
I'm sorry, but to the legal system, that doesn't make any difference. I have to arrest you.
Eugenia
What?! That's insane! What proof do you even have that it wasn't in self defense?! Greta shot Lucas!
Chris
We have a witness. Your wife, Jan Spears, came forward and gave us a detailed description. She said that you strangled Princess Von Amberg, and I bet that you could back that statement up, Miss Willens.
Eugenia, enraged
That bitch!
Lucas, sighing as he stands up
No, Eugenia, calm down. I've got to take responsibility for this; I did kill Greta because of what she did. I don't regret it, but I did kill her. I'm not going to be like Jan or Greta and run from the law. I'm a grown man.
Eugenia
Lucas, are you serious? This could destroy our family when it's barely even started.
Lucas
I don't have a choice, babe. I'm sorry. Just do these things for me: Tell my family, and get Bo and Hope Brady down here. They need to take Bentley before Jan does.
Chris, taking out handcuffs
Lucas Roberts, you are under arrest for the murder of Greta Von Amberg!

Bo and Hope's House

Bo and Hope are in the living room of their house, both purely silent, and the tension between them is thick.
Bo
Come on, Fancy Face, we've got to get through this. Talk to me.
Hope
So much is happening, Brady. I don't even know what to say at this point.
Bo hears a knock on the door, and he heads to the door and opens it to see Megan!
Bo
Megan, what are you doing here?
Megan, walking right in
I came to see my new house, as I will be moving in once the paternity test proves that Bo DiMera is your son. Or we could always move to my Father's house, but there are so many other people there. This house only has one person that needs to be gotten rid of.
Bo
You're crazy. I don't know why or how you've held onto me all these years; all we had was a fling in highschool, but you're still after me.
Megan
You love me, Bo, I know it; oh, hello, Ugly Face.
Hope just groans and stands up, rubbing her temples. She still can't believe this is happening.
Bo
Megan, the only thing that this test will prove is that you're a liar. You concocted this ridiculous scheme to get me back. I still don't even know how you did it.
Megan
Let me give you a play by play: I knew that while Hope was gone, I needed an edge to get you right back into my arms. So I brought back Jill Stevens to carry the baby and not throw anyone off. Who, I might add, also slept with your husband while you were in jail, Hope!
Hope, whirling around, stunned and hurt
You slept with Jill too?!! Damnit, Brady, damnit!
Bo
No, no, Hope....that was different. We were both drunk, and I didn't know that Jill was Megan's surrogate until just now!
Hope
I put it together after I saw Megan and Jill together in the park; I barely even remembered Jill, but it was our fight that caused her to die. I guess the baby was saved, though.
Tears begin to roll down Hope's cheeks at this new revelation, and Megan takes joy in seeing her rival in so much pain.
Megan
See, Bo? She's weak...you need a strong woman.
Bo
So that's who's baby Jill was pregnant with. Yours and mine; you really are a bitch, Megan. After this, I don't want to ever see you again! You're the spitting image of your father.
Megan
And I couldn't be prouder.
The phone rings, and Bo sighs, before answering it.
Lexie
Bo, it's Lexie. The paternity test results are in, so I need you, Hope, and Megan to get down to the hospital ASAP. And there's something else, too.
Bo
Megan's here with us. We'll be right there.
Bo hangs up the phone, and looks at the two women before him.
Bo
We need to get to the hospital; the paternity test results are in.
Megan grins and quickly darts out of the house, and Hope wipes her eyes and just gives Bo a hard stare, before walking out as well. Bo follows her, concerned and worried at how his marriage is bursting apart at the seams....
